You are a legend sir. I was sitting here going crazy thinking I was about to have to buy a techstream sub because my autel scanner was showing the clearance warning module, but had no special functions and I was thinking it was locked behind techstream. After I manually selected the vehicle it was there just like you described. I submitted a report so autel engineers can look into this and hopefully don’t confuse anyone down the line
Wow, that's a Really great case study! I can just imagine the frustration of going through multiple scan tools and then paying a sub for OEM and still nothing! Great job figuring it out. I just heard your podcast the Automotive Diagnostic Podcast, Really enjoyed it!
THANK YOU VERY MUCH for going through the module listing, when I asked I did not ask for a slow scroll, but this is very nice, many guys out here need to know if a module count is wrong, in this case, one is missing, compare a couple of youtube videos on this car and missing module found or wait until the end of your video and it will be back on the list, problem narrowed down, much appreciated. Hopefully, guys who count modules should have a list in their private Library, each new video might show a new TRIM addon and now we know this newer year had an addon. Your scanner showed all possibilities of modules, more than 40, but most scan tools do not, if you do a quick scroll, we might now notice what is not actually installed and make a note of the wrong count so THANKS for pointing out 32, 31+1. This is also a problem in scanners with nice TOPOLOGY maps, if a module is dead/missing in action, it will not be populated and we don't even know it's missing, as nice as TOPOLOGY is, it's not perfect either along with other problems. Your AUTEL TOPOLOGY now shows 39 colored modules WTF? AUTEL buys from LAUNCH and LAUNCH steals from the OEMs, it's been this way since I bought the first LAUNCH while living in Japan in 2004. The fact that the MSG is on the dash and the AUTEL cannot communicate does not mean the module is still communicating with the OEM scan tool, all possible modules are programmed into a list, maybe in the PCM or BCM?? AUTEL does not look at that list or is not programmed to retrieve the list properly, HELLO LAUNCH, maybe LAUNCH would see it but AUTEL did not pay for that bit of code. This is being seen more and more often lately, the other Chinese tools are not paying for all code so LAUNCH is not giving all options. CHRY is an example, if I am not mistaken, 2018 and newer CHRY with the secure GATEWAY (CAN FD??), not all lower priced scanners can read a CHRY product as they did not pay LAUNCH for the newer GATEWAY security key code option. WHAT, no Auto ID scan to see if 39 modules come up? WELL OK, thanks very much for the Case Study
Yesterday autel failed to id about half of the modules on a 23 grand cherokee. I almost made a mistake in my diag because of that. Luckily I had a witech2 sub.
This is the most valuable video ever get from youtuber like You. I 've been waiting for months to watch someone can identify like this issue to me in 4th Gen Sienna. I have Sienna 2021/XLE/AWD pretty much same issue after 4 front sensors have CHANGED. First time, I have tried Aftermarket then swapped them out with "pricy OEM ones) unfortunately nothing solved🤕.I know there is caliberation needs to be done but nothing shows on OBD2. Until i realized you uploaded this impressive video. Many Many thanks. You are the best man!!
After follow up your caliberation: 1-Orange 'P' parking assist light on top the dash has gone. 2-Front&Rear Parking assist sensors start working successfully (except for sense objects in very close distances like 2 feet away only(Is that normal ?). BTW Also, still having the other yellow Parking assist light on dash(Vehicle with rear object) active !! . Do you think it needs re-caliberation, or there is something else. THANK YOU!
@@DallasAutoDiag parking assist starts working Orange P light is gone, but yellow parking assist light still showing on Dash console as above-mentioned. I have changed front bumper with 4 parking sensors with harness OEM as well. Also i have disassembled the rear bumber just to check the harness and everything was fine in the rear vehicle. Anyways, car was involved in accident (the front only). I picked this Sienna from Copart buddy.
Thank you for posting this video!! We were stuck on this on a similar repair, and I followed your steps and got the parking sensors working again. Much appreciated!!
Hello Dallas Auto Diag, I too agreed with a lot of the people who made comments that your video is extremely helpful! I am an electronic engineer spending many years troubleshooting electronic devices in the labs and out in the field and your troubleshooting method was spot on. I am surprised as you mentioned that the Toyota Techstream tool was not able to perform the diagnosis and detection. I especially like your detailed step by step process to perform the fault detection and sensors calibration on the Autel. Can you please share the Autel model number and any software requirements to perform the tests and calibration of the sensors as you highlighted. Much appreciated. Thank you!
Sr twice in two days on the same car u saved my butt thanks u very much I also was stuck where u we’re no codes but parking assist light on dash didn’t know two of the front sensors where replaced once I did the calibration like u showed in this video problem solved thank u very much man I’ll owe u a beer or something if u keep this up not that I don’t already because I do thank u very much for everything u do keep it up I love watching ur videos
What I dont get is, when first scanning with your scantool, why you dindt see it in the first place? then at 16:38 min, you see the defect modules? What did you changed that it shows on the scantool?
When your scan tool or software are not allowing you to do whatever you are trying to do, there is no harm in selecting an earlier or later year. Earlier is most probably better. This also applies to service information.
@@DallasAutoDiag Thanks for your explanation. So the moral of the video is when you can't find the need that you're looking for in a module... pick a year earlier of the model. But if you ask me; it's strange right? That even the OEM of the brand can't detect the module, I'm just amazed.
why you did not fix all that issue with TECHSTREAM, ICS module was showing there from the very begining? You could just go to sensor calibration, enter calibration data and that would be it.
Great video! I am going through this with a 22 Tundra with my HS Automotive students. We have tried with Topdon (Phoenix Elite) and Autel (im608) and both scan tools will kick us out as soon as we select "front bumper" and "perform registration of the sensor". Steering wheel is straight, KOEO. We're confused!
I figured it out today. There was a pin fitment issue. Must have been in the network because none of the sensors were talking. We got it back together and used the same angle gauge you did to find the angles. Everything is calibrated and works GREAT. Can't thank you enough.@@DallasAutoDiag

I really appreciate the video. Very helpful!

It is. Just follow his steps with autel tablet starting roughly at the middle of the video. I just put same numbers he did without measuring.

هذه مشكلة بنظام السيارة وليست بالجهاز .حدث معي هذا ايضا في تويوتا تندرا 2022

What is the moral point of this video? Always scan a older year manually of the build of the car?
The first one is to overcome obstacles even when they exist in the OE software. Second is how to calibrate toyota and lexus parking sensors.
Moral point is that not everyone is educated like my self for example and people with experience can do the magic and teach others.
