    I’m doing mine immediately! Thank you for the idea 💡 it really sounds better. 16:00 definitely adds some throaty-ness. Imagine with straight pipes 😍

      Awesome! It does sound really good. We'll see what the Dyno says but either way, living the sound. My exhaust is completely stock, that will be an upgrade down the road for sure

      @@TheSundaeDrive I hope it lasts, I got a good deal, go take a listen. Airaid dry in blue was more expensive 🥲
      After that I want to do the driveshaft because that looks easier then the manifold swap 😅 I couldn’t imagine dropping something in 😂

    I like it. One concern, however. With the PCV setup going back to the intake prior to the throttle body, I suspect the throttle valve will get wickedly dirty after a relatively short amount of time. I think the default setup for older (pre-2015) OEM is having the PCV come in through the manifold itself, post-throttle body. I'll be interested in knowing how it turns out down the road. Cheers!

    I'm not so sure of that lower intake pipe on a 4wd truck. More of a straight shot for water from going through streams and also dust. Looks like the top metal brace rod will have to come out every time you service the air intake. The part you unclipped from your stock air box - what if I drill large holes around the intake snorkel. Looks to have plenty of material to do that. Is the opening larger on the inner fender to make use of the added drilled holes?

    • @TheSundaeDrive
      @TheSundaeDrive  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes I agree, I mentioned that lower intake pipe potentially being an issue if you do any serious mudding or wading with a truck. While I do go off roading occasionally, I never take the truck through deep water or mud so for me it's ok but could be an issue for someone else. If I'm understanding you correctly about the snorkel, I actually mentioned that too so we think alike lol. I think you could add it to the new box without an issue potentially.

    I just bought a 2018 with 25,000 miles on it. Do the tuners that over ride the AFM work and if so do y’all have a preference? Love the build.

    • @TheSundaeDrive

      Thanks! They don't prevent the failure unfortunately. They work keeping you out of v4 mode but that's about it.

      If you change the throttle body yes. But they are the same intake besides the coupler at the end

    ...Why would anyone want to install an exposed air filter under a hood that can reach extreme tempatures above 150 degrees? All your doing is allowing a better breathing system take in the heat that the engine is giving off to recycle back into the intake.

    • @TheSundaeDrive
      @TheSundaeDrive  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I tend to agree as well, this was one of the better aftermarket airboxes I've seen for the truck which is why I went with it for now. I may swap it at some point if I find Something better. It is supposed to seal against the hood but I need to play with it more to see if it actually seals. I removed it immediately from the truck because we want to Dyno test the base air system and then swap this one on to see if it actually improves anything.
