    S&B Cold Air Intake on my 2017 Silverado. Can definitely hear it and no disappointments in performance at all. Highly Recommend.

    I run a full S&B intake system and you defenility hear the intake and notice a power gain, much more responsive. also S&B is good because the maf sensor does not change locations from factory setup. they also give ya a rubber airbox plug for bottom if your in a dusty enviroment or you can remove it your choice.

    I got the Airaid MIT just the tube and no filter, diy ported my throttle body to get rid of the tip in lack of power, cleaned up the underside of the airbox lid, and cut out the baffle in the inner fender. It probably picked up 3 or 4 hp but I was mainly doing it to increase volumetric efficiency for gas mileage in the long run. I cut the out the inner fender and airbox first and drove it a few days and I can say that cutting out the inner fender and airbox to match made a bigger increase in noise and felt power than the tube did.

    My 04 Avalanche,. . I did install. K&N filter. When it was new it does make a big difference in hp Gaines , however it is already a cold air box pulling through the fender to outside of the engine compartment,. The intake plentium boot does two things , first it's a vacum plentium, second it's shape is made to derect air under and through the intake manifold for added cooling . Leave it on

    I had a Airaid cold air intake with a throttle spacer. Magnaflow exhaust and super chip tuner with my 5.3 Sierra. It sounded like a beast and wasn’t bad on the highway. Fuel mileage wasn’t any worse that I noticed.

    You are full of hot air. Get a gauge and check the air intake temps . Full blown cold air intake has the coldest intake temperature. Stock is the hottest. The factory box absorbs lots of heat.

  • @zapbrannigan5556
    @zapbrannigan5556 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Cold air inductions has an intake with a closed box with a heat shield. You hear the intake with it. It's a pretty good set up.

  • @rayg1217
    @rayg1217 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    This is the same thing as just buying the k&n filter from autozone and putting it on the stock intake . Should of went with the s&b dry filter CAI , it’s a closed box and uses the same vent holes as the stock air box . That’s what I have on mines and I totally notice a difference . You can hear the air being sucked when u floor it

    Gains are between 4600 - 5600 RPM, and is used during passing events. Power and torque gains are real, do a before and after dynotune on your factory truck and then tell us there are no gains.

    Airaid in my 6.2 Denali full exhaust I went Airaid because its a true cold air not half ass'd cold air I saw a big difference at the top of the rpm and right as soon as I hit the throttle compares to the K$N 77 series.

    Make sure to wipe down the connecting boots because they do have a thin protective film. If you don't then the boot can slip off the throttle body

    I got the same MIT tube on my 2018 but used a Green filter instead of the AirRaid. Im running stock exhaust currently, and can tell a sound difference around 2500 RPM. There's a video from American Trucks that showed an install and a Dyno run with the tube. Didn't have any peak gains, but the curve gains were about 20-25 more HP. From around 4,000 to 5,500 was the curve gains.

    I have a 2018 GMC Sierra that I just put cai intake on from cold air inductions absolutely love it I did have it Dyno tested picked up 18 whp after intake install. I did also put a jlt 3.0 catch can on it as well would be very surprised to see how much oil that catch can actually catch’s Also picked up 3 mph on a 1280 mile trip from the cai.

    I stay away from the full intake kits. Way to $$ for pretty much 0 gains, just sound. I will get the intake tube like yours cause of the clutter under the hood.
    The differences in power gains is when you get into heads and cam work etc. When you actually need the extra air. Then a tune and a intake will make a few extra horses. 👍.

    S&B, all the way. If it's not a sealed box CAI (only open for the air vent on the side)..its not helping much. You gotta reduce the intake of engine bay air because hot air = no bueno. K&N and any "cold air" that's just hanging out...all ricer cosmetic BS. S&B also release all their test results so you can get somewhat of an idea of what your increase should be....usually 5-10 HP and 1-3 mpg increase, if installed correctly. It also adds a little aggression to your exhaust tone.
    I have one on my 2018 Sierra LT1 and mt 2020 JL 2.0T. You don't have to get S&B (though I recommend you do) but do yourself a favor and get a sealed box CAI and avoid that open air ricer crap. More than anything, just be smart and research, research, research.

    I did the same thing on my 6.2 Sierra. You may want to look into the catch can and clean side separator. I installed that on my truck when it only had 1,500 miles. Helps to keep the valves clean with the Direct Congestion; oops, I mean injection engine.

    Ur saying stuff that isn’t tru and only opinion. Gains have been proven under the curve in the rpm range u r talking about. Intakes have not helped out much on top end. They make sense if you tow and have curve gains that are very usable. U wasted ur money on a tube and are gaining nothing but sound. Maybe some very tiny gains here and there but not sure where you got ur “generic” info on intakes for “this” particular engine and vehicle. Yes in some older and even newer vehicles the intakes won’t help but it has been dyno proven that a full cold intake does have gains on this particular engine and vehicle. Please edit ur vid. Or show some factual information and back up what u say.
