Something I’ve wondered for a while now. Is there an etiquette to line ditching in Amtgard? You see, years ago myself and two of my friends, all skirmish fighters from Astral Winds moved to the Olympia area in Washington. At the time the local park was dead except for a large group that would travel to different lands in the state each week. When that group was in town we had lined up for a ditch and after lay on I took a quick survey of the field and we opted for a flanking push, absolutely rolled it and the enemy team. And much to our surprise they were pissed, absolutely pissed at us. "That’s not how you fight!" They yelled, and treated us like crap the rest of the day. To this day I still have no clue what they were going on about.
Sorry you had such a bad experience. etiquette can be regional, the game is so big, but in my experience flanking a team is not shunned upon but I am limited to mostly the Pacific Northwest. Now, running wide around a flank, not engaging them, and backstabbing after you've gone unnoticed because you won't engage, that can cause a ripple. But that doesn't sound like what you did. If you're in the Olympia area again, I suggest you give the park another try. They have flourished in the last few years and is a thriving park. They even have a warlord or two fighting out of there.
