I really appreciate your channel, and the hard work that is behind the scenes. I am a neighbor, and every now and again I see our property in the background, and that is an added bonus, lol. A week or tow ago I had posted a question for assistance that I need in purchasing one of your art prints on canvas and have been impatiently waiting for a reply......now I will be more patient. Happy spring!!!

You must have read my mind. Going on 5 years since I started building my off grid log cabin alone as a 65 year old woman. Still living in a shed trying to get it done. Very slowly.. One board at a time since I m living on social security.
Thanks for the motivational talk you have no idea how much that meant.

So true… “practice makes perfect” is a saying we used to say when learning a new skill around the farm and kitchen. Sometimes it is perfect(the bread or pie or garden) but then the next time it isn’t. We need to encourage each other. Thanks

On your podcast the other day you said, "I don't see why people say 'this is relatable' or why that should be a goal. I don't want to be relatable" or something like that. But this video is exactly why they say that and what it means.
What isn't relatable is a beautiful garden that took very little work or had very little mistakes. So when ppl get to see the hard stuff or mistakes, they not only feel inspired, but they also feel human. They see that human imperfection and think, "Okay yes... she isn't just superhuman, I can do this too with enough work and effort."
When people become disconnected from their audience (or reality) bc of social media, they really miss out on a connection that could lead someone to do better in their own life. They miss the opportunity to share testimony, point all things back to God, and help others feel valuable and capable.
So I will argue with what you said on your podcast. Being relatable by being honest (like in this sit down chat) is closer to humility, and it keeps us from living in a world separate from others & unreachable.

I think it is very important what you said about "piano e piano" concept. To be honest the 1st reason of watching your movies is extend my English vocabulary (as English is not my first language), but it is much easier to learn when we find the pleasure to grow up with our skills

Well, I am encouraged. Thank you. I am simplifying my home so that it is easy to look after, so that I will be able to live independently as long as possible. I am focusing on what I really want my home to be like now, and letting go of what it doesn't need to be. There is nothing quick about this, but every day is a step forward.

Growing up in the Midwest, my mom always said, "little by little." I've lived the past 5 years in Uganda. I love even more how they say here, "Slowly by slowly." One friend teased, "You Americans always rush here. Rush there. Hurry, hurry, hurry. Why the rush? Are you all in a hurry to die faster?"

I love that you have so much going for you because of all the work the camera doesn't see. You give me so much to look forward to. Even if my homestead never resembles yours much at all, there's so much I get from your videos. I have done enough cooking, homeschooling, gardening... to know that there's so much work in it all. But I love the work. I love you sharing the fruits of your labor with us. You offer a peaceful retreat for my mind and I appreciate your philosophies you share. I know your life isn't perfect, but I do enjoy seeing so much of the best. It helps me to be better at pointing out what's going well in my life. I've learned not to compare the whole cause I don't see the whole of yours. I couldn't even if you tried to show it. But I do like all the little things that are similar. When I make pasta from scratch with my kids or put together a sweet flower arrangement from my yard. It's all the goodness of life.

Thank you so much for today’s encouragement. It’s good to be reminded that what’s in the video doesn’t include all of the behind the scenes daily life and work. I needed that reminder as I go into a new season my life…retirement. Well, what exactly does that mean? I won’t be working outside the home full-time..but what comes next? I like your comment, “slowly, slowly”. Ahh, if I can just remember to take once step at a time. Thank you for sharing from your heart! ❤

I'm so glad you added that clause on the end there. I think many folks think perhaps you make it look effortless at times but maybe that's a compliment to how well you make the videos and the process looks so enjoyable i.e harvesting, setting the table in that cosy beautiful home of yours. I know that when I have finished the housework the home looks beautiful but as the week goes on it needs cleaning again and the dishes pile up after one meal if I don't load the dishwasher or the garden looks beautiful in summer but in winter when the weather is terrible I don't want to be out there and things die and look a mess. This has been an encouraging video - thank you and God bless you all. 🤗
