I loved playing that deck... it was soo nuts. It was one of the few times I had to take a deck apart for being to good. And wizards only been printing better creatures sense than and proliferation is back too.
I have a meren deck, i went the combo route with her with some etb effects like spore frog plague crafter and i do also have protean hulk in the deck i even put in survival of the fittest which is so much more fun then evolutionary leap
LOL I recently upgraded my Meren. I figured she would side with the Phyrexians so I made it into a Infect deck. I love that there is so many new cards to help Meren spread her gifts and love :P
You forgot the most important one drop in black for this. BLOOD PET! Just as utilitarian as Spore frog & he ramps! Aside from this I love this faster version, definitely going to include some of these bangers
The problem is that the only Blood Pet I can find for sale in the entire country is a foil 7th edition copy and I don’t want one quite that much. I’ve been looking for 7 or 8 of them for various decks for ages! Fantastic creature, just sits around being all “oh, I guess it replaces the mana you put into it” in an unassuming, unthreatening manner.

Awesome concept! I am now doing this for the Izzet 2015 precon. I love her, but that original decklist is terrible.
some of the old lists really need massaging. good bones, but not holding up to today's standards.
