What healthcare insurance do you accept for payment?
We would LOVE to accept health insurance. Unfortunately the insurance companies consider hair loss as cosmetic and won't offer coverage
@@NinaRossAtl isn't that a shame about the insurance companies. The cause may not be cosmetic such as inflammation. Women get denied so much stuff by insurance.
Yes how much is the treatment?
Hair lose for 3yrs now
Hi people. For those who can't get this type of help I'll tell you what helped me. Stopped alcohol like completely, sugar too(only sugar I got was from fruits and one's I couldnt avoid in like baked beans),halfed my meat intake(completely cut out pork) started taking turmeric at night before bed so it would work in the body as I slept without interruption, up'd my water intake and also started drinking kefir. I also made a hair oil for myself which comprised of 70% pimkinseed oil, 10% pepermint oil, 10% tea tree oil and 10% hemp oil. I noticed a BIG difference In the inflammation. My scalp stoped itching completely and the tenderness + sores/bumps I had on scalp subsided. hair loss stopped too. Hair regrowth has been slow but for sure its grown a little. Its all about discipline and patience. Also very important LEAVE YOUR HAIR ALONE. I'm a black guy and I know ladies this would be harder for you to do but trust me leave it alone. Peace
Hey love Is your hair still growing?
Rubbing onions really helps, cut slice and just rub in the area bolding, it will grow back quicker.
Hope all you all get the help/ cure you need. No woman deserves to go bald ( unwillingly).
Thank you! What is piminkins seed oil you mentioned? Will look it up.
Thank you
I have had this condition for 20 years and had no idea what it was. I got it from a relaxer and my mother has female pattern baldness. Thank you so much for this video!
You're welcome! More to come 😊
Same here
Same about the relaxer. Someone said it was most likely expired or something
@@dawng1783 my mom have like bad. But I refuse to go bald. In Jesus name.
Hello am experiencing the same condition from a relaxer I used 2019 ..from then have never healed am so depressed...could you share some of the treatment you used if you managed the condition please 🙏
According to my doctor, it stems from autoimmune issues. I have scaring, but life goes on.
I’m so glad I found this channel and clicked on your link. I’m actually in Atlanta. I just moved here my alopecia went from a quarter size to what is in this video in a week. I can only wear my hair up in high ponytail because I don’t have hair in the middle. And my ponytail is very painful. I will be making a appointment. Because I didn’t know where to start.
I’m at a point where I’m working on lowering my estrogen and cholesterol with more organic fiber powder, fruits and vegs, drinking more dandelion tea and organic coconut water after a stressful day at work, probiotics at night with yogurt goat milk and organic coconut oil to coat my stomach, and detoxing and protecting my liver. My stomach is flatter and I’m getting baby hairs.
i knew something was wrong with me but i didnt know it had a name until today. ive been struggling with this for 10 plus years.
I just cane across this video and I believe this is what I have. Of course I have had this condition for well over 10 years. I went to countless doctors and dermatologists. Getting blood work, scalp biopsies. They determined that I had skin lupus. A few years ago I asked a specialist and he didn't think I had it.
Going natural saved my hair! My scalp is still sore in that area..like always but I don’t have hair loss there any longer. My hair is now flourishing
What did you use sis
LESEGO HALO I wore protective styles, mainly low tension braids, for a good year or so. I would let my hair breathe for only a few weeks in between styles.
Other than that I just oiled more and made sure to deep condition every wash. But not touching my hair and massaging with the oil is really what helped it grow.
@@TalkswithBellaTT What oil did you use?
Yes for me to I went natural and was able to stop the hair loss and even increased growth in the crown area it took about four months to see the regrowth…. I will never put another perm in my head ever!!!!
Not to confuse anyone here into thinking that natural will stop CCCA. I've not had a relaxer for decades and still got ccca. Fasting to lower inflammation, essential oils and supplements definitely helped me out.
I permed my hair more than once, the harsh chemicals caused my hair loss and scarring. Chemicals on the scalp will affect the hair follicles, pulling hair too tight will cause the roots to loosen. Harsh treatment of hair will affect it.
Magenta Angel any hope to get it back?
Unfortunately no matter what natural organic products I've used it never fully grew back, I now have thin hair and use Nanogen hair fibres to fill in the thin parts and hair spray to keep it in place. Once you kill those hair follicles with chemicals it's not coming back short of a hair transplant.
I wish my hair should grow back. But I already know I'm a done deal. One day I intend to just shave all my hair off and be done with worrying about it.
This is what I was diagnosed with in 2016. Luckily I managed to grow my crown back and from 2017-2020 it did amazing but then took a turn for the worst. All of 2021 was a nightmare. By October 89% of my crown always gone. I had surgery comming so I just shaved to start over. But now growth is non exisaant. Mixture of ccca and my other autoimmune disorder I’m gonna be bald forever
Please don’t say that you’ll be bald forever. There’s always hope. I know about Autoimmune diseases. . I have OA and CCCA. I’m working on diet, supplementation, and lowering my stress level. I’ve seen regrowth. So I’m hopeful. Best wishes to you. God bless.
Should you stop getting relaxers if you are diagnosed with CCCA? My dermatologist said I could continue to get them, but try to go 8 or more weeks in between. I truly believe the relaxers have caused me to get alopecia.
My dermatologist suggested I stop all chemicals... I use to relax my hair and color it and wear braids .. Try to put less tension on your hair if possible.. Also it could be your medications if you take any.. Stay positive 🙏🏾
A perm is responsible for mines too...not growing at all...tons of itching and the least amount of combing brings out so much hair...my hair won't even hold with gel...
Thinking about cutting it off but have to get the nerve
I would say stop using relaxer or any type of chemicals. Since i stopped using relaxer i noticed that I don't have scarring anymore. I used to have severe scarring where my scalp would bleed when I scratched it and ever since I stopped relaxing my hair my scalp is better.
I'm crying right now, because I found you, but also I live in Canada and were I am there is no black dermatologist 😥😥😥, it's really hard to be in this condition and have no answer. I went to see a dermatologist four years ago and he said this black women problem, he gave some lotions and that's all. Please help 🙏🙏🙏

I’m dealing with the same as well! I had ringworm last year. And it regrows then start the process over again 3-4 months later. This is my third time going through losing my hair where the ring worm scarred it.
how do i grow my hair again after having the CCCA
I've done a video on my hair falling out; I guess this is why I got the recommendation.
My dermatologist suggested I stop putting perms in my hair years ago when all of my hair was falling out. I was diagnosed with "Traction Alopecia" & "Seborrheic Dermatitis". Going natural helped me. I was chosen to be in a few events after my hair grew back. One day I was chosen to be a Black Panther in the movie "Forest Gump". At the time....they wanted someone who could wear a real Afro. It was a blessing I had just stopped wearing those perms. My hair grew back nice.
Nowadays I watch my diet, whatever I feed my body, I'm feeding my mind, my hair, actually my entire body. I move, exercise no less than 20 minutes a day to get that blood circulation flowing. I get some sun, take my vitamins, I drink water, collagen, meditation, sleep, eat lots of fruits and veggies. I lean my head out the side of my bed some mornings slowly to get that blood flowing to my scalp. Sounds strange, but it works for me. Now that I'm older I have the patience to do all these things. I remember a time where I did not wrap my hair. I also remember when I use to eat a lot of pizza and hamburgers, I drank Kool-Aid, lots of sweet cake, pies, sodas, ate a lot of cheese, milk. My skin and hair was jacked up. Everything seemed to flare up on my body. I've come a long way. Ooohwee. I still have to be mindful of my lifestyle; when I stop exercising or indulge in certain foods; I see it in my skin and hair immediately. On my body.... this traction alopecia it's like a cold. It will reveal itself after all those years. This was back in 89/90 when I was in that dermatologist chair. I didn't want to hear the truth about letting go of that perm, or even my diet. SMH. It took me years to get it. I have to switch up on things sometimes vitamins etc. It just depends. Everyone is different, but basically almost the same. The pain is real. I try not to stress about it . Be Hopeful everyone. Takes time and patience along with great Dr's like Dr. Ross here to help us. 🙏🏾 Nice video and thank you Dr. Ross for sharing.
Thank you for the encouragement. Glad you are better. Happy New Year!💥💥

Any recommendations for dermatologist in Colorado???! I saw one here and she had no clue about black hair.
I’m also in Colorado and need help!!
It's tough to find practitioners who understand CCCA! To help more people we started a virtual program where we customize treatments and send them to wherever you are. Take a look here and if you have questions let me know! www.ninaross.co/at-home
Those in Colorado. Any good dermatologists in your area will know how to treat "scarring alopecia". There's more than one type. Scarring alopecia can affect anyone but CCCA is the one seen in 98% of AA. The treatment will be the same as the other scarring alopecia's bcos at the cellular level they're all the same. It's the inflammation that kills the stem cell in the follicle in all the "scarring alopecia's". Once the stem cell is gone that follicle scars over and no hair will ever grow there again..its permanent!. The scarring alopecia's have different characteristics that give it their name thus CCCA bcos it occurs in the central section of the scalp. Frontal fibrosis(another scarring alopecia) occurs near the forehead and extends back toward the crown. You'll need a biopsy to see which alopecia "scarring OR non-scarring" you have and then they'll know how to treat it. The thing is to get to a dermatologist asap!..the longer you wait the more damage that's occuring . Just find a good dermatologists in your area who has treated and/or understands alopecia(Im sure most do). Im in Dallas and couldn't find a black derm..I got desperate and just found a dermatologist(I ask questions to vet them). She is white but knew exactly what to do after my biopsy results. I had 2 different types of alopecia's and early CCCA was one of them. She gave me my treatment regimen and 2 months later, I can actually cornrow that sparse hair I had but it's still thin bcos I waited tooooo long and some of my follicles have already scarred over but at least the medicine has stopped the inflammation from spreading further..so now my scalp is healing and regenerating hair in the areas where the follicles were sick but still viable. Please go see a derm in your area cos at least you'll know which alopecia you actually have. I know how you feel and I hope I've helped someone. It's emotionally devastating SO be proactive and go see ANY good dermatologist in your area. You'll feel more empowered. Best to everyone.
Is intense itching that is refractory an early sign?
Yes, it definitely can be. It's best to get a professional examination to ensure that is is CCCA.
Male with this condition, I live in an area with low black population so support is hard. I did meet a dermatologist who's familiar with the condition and he gave me anti inflammatory steroid solution and anti biotics. Can certain medications cause hair loss?
Yes, like the beta blocker blood pressure medications and like chemotherapy and some instances. If you have to take a medication always ask your pharmacist if it has the side effect of hair loss. Sadly most times The Physician does not know. There are so many drugs to keep up with that I trust the pharmacist more in that area. They can at least give you a printout on the drug that you're taking so that you can read about the side effects. Physicians usually rely heavily on the drug reps who come in to promote their drugs.

I am so tired of all the false hope lotions and potions on TH-cam, Cant find anyone in the UK to help . Unless you have money you are done here. not even that there is no one with the skill and expertise it's so demoralizing
It’s truly horrible. These “professionals” aren’t giving away any “free info” or any natural methods. Business is business unfortunately...and money is primary...even if it’s to help others :( TH-cam aloe Vera treatments and onion and garlic/ginger treatments. Also do an egg & olive oil protein treatment on your hair 2 times a month. You’re welcome.
@@ellel9579 I've come across an amazing Black GP here in UK DR ingrid Wilson hair and scalp clinic based in crewe Cheshire. Its not cheap but im going to consult with her. Another of these so called TH-cam people are fake do not respond have made their money and gone.
@@ellel9579 sorry only just seen this. I have literally shaved my hair down to the scalp I'm trying so hard. There are different types of hair loss its not a one fits all and we could be causing all form of damage. It is about money for these black professionals or anyone really. I have watched tried and now just seeing how a new hair regime works There is no recognition here in UK about the conditions that affect us black women . When I watch TH-cam and see the art that hairdresser's use to at least try to make us feel better I applaud 👏 them we are just a money making business but with faith prayer and perseverance our hair will grow and better must come
