      dont forget that used bikes sometimes have lots of mods, or aftermarket exhaust, etc which justifies the extra price. But yeah. I think for a value/price ratio new is better in this case

    I have the 2018 model.
    It doesn't have the new electronic tech but the styling is very similar, i believe the seats are the same. It has the headlights of the old mt09 and personaly it looks better then the old or new mt07. It also has all the issues of the older models fixed. You can find them with low miles at an affordable price.

    • @Jeremy_roe

    I ended up ordering the 23 model. I am one of the (seemingly few) who likes the new screen. Also nice that it comes with quickshift pre-wired. And the used marked is really expensive here, so there really wasnt that big of a jump to a new bike. The local dealer starts the 2023 model at around 16.000 AUD. A lot of the used 22 models sit around 12.000 AUD, and I honestly didnt find it worth the saving.
    Also, my biggest reason: I get to see the milage tick past 1km, 69km, 100km, 420 km, 999 km and so on :D

      12.000 vs 16.000 between 2022 and 2023? Damn that's a bigger gap than here in Sweden. Here it's 80000 SEK for a brand new 2022 and over 70000 SEK for some used 2020's. While a brand new 2023 would cost 90000 SEK. Seems like a good idea to go for 2023.

      sadly the suspension is dogshit on both old and new MTs , it works ofcourse but if you really want a propper front end the R1/R6 front end is the way to go .
      1gen mt09 847cc( 2014-2017 ) - Only ABS as option nothing else
      2gen mt09 847cc ( 2018-2020 ) - Adjustable suspension, traction control, ABS, slipper clutch, LED headlights, and updated styling
      3gen mt09 890cc ( 2021-present ) All of the above + new engine .
      my first mt09 was a brand new 2015 model , sold it last year and bought a 2021 gen 3, sold it and bought a 2018 .
      the 2nd gen 18mod i have now is by faar the most fun of them all to ride(black widow exhaust with decat, and riding 15-54 instead of stock 16-45 sprockets.)
      the 3gen is ALOT better in corners tho .

      Hey thanks for your input, I wasn’t aware of any mechanical changes to the motor, it’s pretty much the same, what changes were you referring to?

    I got to say this information definitely helped me out but Jesus Christ. Are these bikes going for a lot over by you. I bought mine for 5700 in Florida. Secondhand.

      Thanks man - keep in mind I’m in Australia so 5700usd is $8,900aud hahaha

    The old version is probably the most boring and ugly headlight ever, otherwise an amazing bike. You simply have to change that headlight on the old version to some aftermarket one

    • @Jeremy_roe
      @Jeremy_roe  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I like the circular led street fighter headlights

      @@Jeremy_roeyeah for sure. Also the twin agressive lights on the mt09 and mt15 etc were awesome (not sure why the mt07 skipped that whole generation of lights)

    1 gen hace more HP torque than 3 gen casue eur4 to 5

    • @Jeremy_roe
      @Jeremy_roe  ปีที่แล้ว

      It might be a little different where you are but in Australia there’s a 1HP difference between the old and new (higher being the old) - and I believe this is due to the tuning they’ve done smoothing out the throttle on the new model a bit. Not much can be done about emissions laws unfortunately! - ps would love a sub if you enjoy this type of content!

    I have 2014 model with ABS in red color and I have to say visually I like the the old model 10 times more. I actually would not buy new model, to me it looks ugly and ridiculous (the entire MT lineup I must say).

    How can you make a video about these bikes and not have shit stained seats cleaned before hand

    • @Jeremy_roe

      Unfortunately my friend didn’t have it cleaned for me and I didn’t have time.

  • @yummyzerg

    Thinking a lot about visuals is pretty gay. All that matters is how it feels to ride. If any dumbass asks you why you don't get a bike that looks a certain way, the best answer is usually "...do you have a bike?"
    To me, talking endlessly about the look of a bike is like asking a guy about his shoes. Like... wtf?
    This isn't pointed at you OP just thinking out loud

    • @Jeremy_roe
      @Jeremy_roe  ปีที่แล้ว

      In all honesty there’s not much difference in the drivetrain between the two bikes! Other than aesthetics and some minor improvements the original bike is much the same! That’s why I think you’re better off saving some money

    so yeah... if im getting one, im getting a brand new one
