I demonstrate how to turn a cute wood bird using multi axis turning. Check out www.mikepeacewoodturning.com/r... for demonstration handouts, downloadable copies of articles I have published.
Thanks for the great tip, Kevin. I did check it out. They come in red, yellow and silver. I think the silver would probably work and incredibly cheap. Could use for my mice as well!
Nice video Mike. Neat trick on the offset turning. I was surprised at how much tilt you were able to get. I will certainly keep that in mind for future projects. Great job!
nice lil project Mike. maybe on the next bird put the side grain growth rings on the side of the bird to make it look like the wings. have a good one yak
the guys who make fishing lures buy there eyes on e bay very cheap and would suit these birds worth a look

Simple yet so cute! That Kiwi bird would be really popular with New Zealanders 😃
These turned out so good! They're so freakin' cute and I want like 50 of these to put on my desk. :)
Go for it, Jake!
"I'm just going to eyeball it." And with a birdcage awl. This is a great video with a lot of hidden laughs. Thanks!

+yak branson Great idea!
hey Mike, do you have a video for the larger birdie? in the picture
No, but it was not multi axis. Just a simple shape turned after I turned round and added a tenon to hold in a chuck.
bravo 👏👏
One of your birds has feet. Would you share some close ups of the deet and how you made them?
Revisit the scene at abouut 20:18. It is a thin piece of wood cut with a scroll saw or coping saw.
