Part of the amazing thing about being a human being is that we are able to have a wide range of emotions.
Think of your feelings as waves on the ocean. They come and go, rise and fall. No feeling lasts forever, and anger and sadness are necessary, helpful parts of the human experience. But when we try to suppress these emotions, we are unable to truly thrive as people. Part of having a full life is feeling all of your emotions. It is beaming with joy, and feeling like your heart is full of gratitude during some moments. It is also experiencing heartbreak and disappointment and truly letting yourself sit with these feelings.
All of our emotions contain gifts and help us to truly grow as people. You deserve to let yourself experience all of your emotions, and to treat yourself with kindness and care.

Hi guys, I tried twice to share a link that could help this beautiful lady with Parkinson's disease but it does not go through. Can you please tell her to Google Dr Joe Dispenza who works with Epigenetics. People with Parkinson's have healed themselves, and others have improved their symptoms.
As 27 years old, who is living with cancer since 7 years, I can only tell that it's only truth. Being a live, being able to walk, dance, cry, laugh, make love etc. it is huge mercy in life! Love yourself deeply with your all sorrows and insecurities and there will be always others, who will love you too. ❤️

Maybe that's right, but being involved with people, being of help and sharing in joys and pain is very joyous. Love does not seem to be a business ("If you love me, then I'll love you." or even "If I love me, others will love me") but is the originating feeling from which interest and real contact comes. @@delublink127 Let me try again. It's certainly important not to hate yourself but loving yourself removes you from being involved, intimately, with life. When I die - and that's more sooner than later - I want to still be involved in the beauties and wonderfulness of life and not be bogged down with my loving me - the instrument of experiencing that life and of my examination of and discussion with it.
It's the one sitting opposite me who is the one upon whom to focus and not me who's interesting and worthy of my love. When there is no one sitting opposite to me - no matter - life is great and abounds with teaming life in which to be interested and in which for me to share love. Thank you. Love.

You really do speak for so many of us Christy ..those of us who lack the courage and wisdom you have shared. I also was lost after a marriage of 30yrs. No children or family and disabled. I spent 2yrs totally alone finding my way back to that brave girl I was as a child. Now...I am so proud of me and ladies like me and you. Our soul rise to a better place. When she said that she can't take away the pain from her kids, but she can allow them to have their pain- that made tears come into my eyes. It really hit me deep.
What a beautiful and strong statement that is. Allowing people to have their own pain, acknowledging that we cannot take away nor we should take away no one's pain. Allowing people to be who they are, however they are - that's hard. So beautiful and inspiring.

Dear Christy, your story really resonated with me. I too divorced after 20 years of marriage. It was the darkest, most frightening time of my life. I remember so well the feeling that I was on a raft in the middle of the ocean. As I battled to get my life back on course, I was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis. It was such a painful struggle, I could barely walk.
Twenty years later, I am happy and content and know my body and its limits so much better. I have learned to avoid stress and pace myself to help with the flare ups. I am still on my own but, whereas previously I had felt unlovable, I now love myself.

In my experience, true 'hell on earth' is a function of Self-betrayal/denial on a consistent basis. If you turn your back on YOU long enough, your body will find ways to get your attention, guaranteed. Usually in the form of an autoimmune disease. All dis-ease, dys-function, dis-comfort, dis-whatever is evidence of resistance to Self-Love....daily doing what you think you 'should' rather than following your heart's lead to make Self-aligning choices.
In my case, I was diagnosed with Mixed Connective Tissue Disease in 2002, an autoimmune disease affecting many of my joints & soft tissues in both hands & feet. I, too, could barely walk at times & my inflammation markers were off the charts. I had not the strength in my hands to wring out water from a sodden washcloth, nor could I pull a blanket over my body in bed; my wrists were so fragile. Scleroderma rendered the skin of lower legs hard, leathery/wooden.
Your raft-in-the-middle-of-the-ocean analogy parallels my own feeling of being a 'reed in the wind', lost, capable of being blown every which way, with nothing to ground/anchor me. Basically I felt severed from ME. In Nov/2003, a specialist to whom I had appealed for a 2nd opinion, told me: the progress of my disease will be "rapid and severe". I refused all meds & walked out of that hospital laughing...because a switch had flipped within me. I decided to take back the reins of my life. My patience with my symptoms & doctor visits had run its course.
So....at some point in Dec/03, I responded to an inner impulse to open, for the 1st time in 2 years, a story file on my laptop & resumed work on my abandoned novella. Within 24 hours, most of my joint issues began to subside! I made the conscious decision to re-engage with my heart's passion: fiction writing. I simply returned to ME, realigned with my Truth. That was my panacea, my salvation.
But my road to full recovery was long--8 years (2002-2010). In the summer of 2014 I tentatively attempted my 1st cartwheel in 12 years (I had been athletic prior to the onset of my MCTD); it took a few trials, but I did it! I wanted to see if I had sufficient strength in my wrists to support my weight on them. I am today in my 5th decade of life, in perfect health, able to 'plank' 5/+ minutes, & I routinely wrap up my workouts with a series of 'round-offs' & the 'splits', just because I can & for the sheer fun of it. I'm happily writing & in the best shape of my life.

This really hit home for me as my mum has had Parkinson's disease for the last 15 years. There's been many struggles and she has often said why me? She was a nurse and carer her whole life and now she excepts that she is looked after by wonderful carers and myself. Mum has never given up though and we work our way through each problem and carry on. She's hardly able to walk now but she will still be coming to us for Christmas, whatever her physical look may be she is still my mum and part of this family. Blessings to Christy in this film and may she carry on over coming her challenges.

Wow thank you very much Christy. I have recently been diagnosed with multiple sclerosis totally out of the blue at 52 years old. I am now trying to come to terms with it and realise that it is time to change my way of living in so many ways. Your courageous film has inspired me.
This afternoon I spent my second session on self love looking at myself in the mirror and repeating positive affirmations to my reflection. Very emotional. My main challenge is to reduce stress…. I’m full of it and have been for years. Sadly I am looking for new homes for my beautiful llamas. The farm is just too much for me now to worry about.

Grief and loss from realising that the person that chose you, does not choose you anymore, is excruciating. I cannot even begin to imagine what Parkinson's on top of that does to you. What a brave, beautiful human.

Christy, your film has really helped me. I got a very frightening diagnosis in my forties, when my youngest child was still at primary school. I didn't deal with it with the wisdom and courage you show here, but like you, I think it's been a gift to me in some respects: I like myself better at 60 than I did at 48. The Lord loves you and is with you.... He knows all that you've been through and wants to give you love, joy, peace, healing and life abundant... i never knew Him personally and didn't think it was possible - but then in my darkest hour- i got some prayer from some Christians , opened my heart to Him and over a period of a few months- my life began to completely change as I surrendered all that I was to Him.. now I want everyone to know He's real- and His love is so powerful! I pray that you will come to know Him and His love for you! He is the WAY, the TRUTH and the LIFE! 💗💗💗🙏🙏🙏

I wish i could hold ur hands & hold on when u feel weak & tired. The way your son looks at you is pure love & hapiness. Children are resilient & your love is enough. I have Fibromyalgia & spend over 20yrs being treated like it was my laziness, my mental health & there is no clear cause & no cure. Illness is not easy for anyone, it is not your burden for falling short in anything. It is just your burden because its what you have, not because u did something wrong. I wish u felt better & so do the people that love you. But of all my lessons I've learned, let people help you. Even if their help is small or big, it helps both of you for 1 it helps them to not feel helpless in watching you suffer. Let others share, help & give what they can, "No woman is an Island". Thank you for sharing Christy’s courageous and vulnerable story about loss, grief and letting joy in. My marriage fell apart after 30 years partly due to my periodic depression and inability to speak my truth. The feeling of failure on my part and the loss of an in tact family can be overwhelming but I work hard at understanding and honoring and expressing my feelings of both anger, sadness, love and kindness. I am glad that Christy is surrounded by caring people, natural beauty and those dogs who give her love and comfort as well.
Thank you for opening up and sharing a little bit about your own journey here with us. We are sorry to hear of the hardships that you've been through. But to have the courage to recognise and accept where things went wrong, and actively work to change those behaviours moving forward, is an incredibly powerful journey that you are on. Dear Christi, when I saw you and heard your story and your thoughts, my heart burned with great love. And an infinite space opened up inside my body and great joy called out how beautiful you are. You have come a long way, you are great and brave! And then a new story appeared… we walk together on a sunny beach, you are healthy and we both laugh so much, how long it took us to understand that we have to love ourselves, the way we are, to understand what it means, that the difficult story that we are he was supposed to wake us up. I have been in a difficult relationship for many years and experienced excruciating pain after the separation... my hand also knocks and my leg breaks... I am learning to empty my mind so that the essence of all life can be revealed, which is still present. You are safe!!! Love ❤️❤️❤️
