- Making other people happy makes many of us feel good. It's great to know that you made a positive impact, however small, on someone's life. But there's a difference between being kind, and being a people pleaser.
Being someone who pleases people sounds like a good idea. But you should never change who you are to please them. You mould yourself to fit the idea of what other people think you should be. Running around trying to please everyone with every decision - never tuning into your own needs. And you stop trusting your own judgment because you assume that other people know better!
You have infinite opportunities to do what makes you radiant in a world of dreary times. And the people that matter, will stick around and love you the most when you are true to yourself. It’s never too late to live a free life - one that is on your own terms.

I can relate to so much of what this lady is saying. I’m 62 and I’ve sacrificed so much for ungrateful people, especially family. I now have regrets and anger that I’ve got to deal with. I’ve done this to myself, I realize that. I hope I can achieve half of what this lady has. Thanks.

Yes, we can all learn a lesson from her - we have to stop caring what others think, and we should have the wisdom to help our children to have the confidence and self love to do the same. It will solve a lot of problems in the world today 💚

Just when I thought you couldn’t make another video as sublime as the last one, you did! I went and heated up my coffee, ( morning here in San Diego) watched and listened in rapture to this beautiful soul! I felt her in my gut. Observing her in that kitchen, dancing, making bread, ( i think i drooled) then preparing a beautiful supper in that soulful home filled with candles... i was overcome with love of life. I personally love having a husband and children (who are now grown). I have put many things on the back burner that I denied myself. But I counted it all joy to have made someone’s life better, and to have given good memories to others gives me good memories for myself in my old age. It was not a loss. It was a joining of lives. And the things I might have done or had wanted to do or become have now paled in comparison to the tribe I now have “invested in,” if you will.

I have 6 children ( one had died during the birth) and I was alone with all the children. The love is indescribable. But also I thought always I’m a bad mother. I denied myself too. Now it changes. Oh! How clearly have you shown that how simple it is to be simple. Most of us feel it the same way. But, why , why can't we do it..?
How difficult it is to get ourselves free off the clutches of all the conditioned behavioural patterns that won't allow us to open up our pure inner soul and be good for no reason?
I have got to travel much further to get the actual point this simple simplicity.
I am still a prisoner in the society, family and truly and more strictly in my own Self.

Wonderful ! This is the story of my life. I always wanted to please everybody in every way to be loved. so I lost myself and one day I realised I didn’t know me. I still feel guilty about the mother I was with my kids and it still hurts, but I’m conscious now and I work on to find me at last and be true to me for me and to others, whatever they may think. It’s a long way, but that’s my way now. I am where I am and I don’t want others make me feel I’m not in at my right place. Thank you so much for this video 💕

As a reformed people pleaser I can really relate and loved her idea that you can regain lost life by packing it full now!!! What a great woman. I have seen a couple of your films now GR- you have a new fan. I see the art in your films. Simple and real art of the everyday extraordinary moments, people and their wisdom. Simply wonderful. I just felt a little sad in this one as I have an autoimmune illness and bread is just a no no for me to be as well as I can be. Sigh. I did make a delicious buckwheat pancake today though- with melted dark chocolate, sliced strawberries and homemade blackberry jam. Yum. 🥰
