7 Dogs Destined for the Dog Meat Market in Korea Take Steps of Freedom in America | PAWsitive 🧡

Seven incredibly fortunate dogs were destined for the dog meat market in Korea when Aniband, an animal rescue based in Korea, saved their lives by sending them to America, where all seven found loving homes.
PAWsitive Channel, Aniband and Doggie Protective Services team up to bring an emotional story of seven dogs -- each one of them was slated for death in the legal, dog meat market of South Korea.
Some of the dogs were owner surrendered, abandoned, found as strays or were bred as meat. Aniband wants to bring to light this serious subject that not all Koreans agree with in hopes of putting an end to this trade.
Aniband paid for the freedom of almost all of the dogs featured in this video -- some straight from the trucks headed to market. The dogs are then put into foster homes where they are provided a warm home and medical care. Once fit for travel, they are sent to America, where Doggie Protective Services finds them a home. Each rescue from beginning to end costs time and hundreds upon thousands of dollars.
Today, Aniband and Doggie Protect Services (DPS) continue their mission, even with limited resources. A freedom flight lands every month with dogs that would have otherwise died. To date, their efforts have saved a hundred dogs with hundreds more awaiting their first steps of freedom.

this is no different to eating the animals we do now apart from 1 thing, they are tortured before death as tradition it's so sick, I think all animal labs and trades should turn into good free big homes.

Joan Bates Yeah actually. Dogs are the same as cows in some countries. We don't agree with it because it isn't the culture we grew up in. And no, I don't agree with how they are slaughtered, it could be more humane and regulated as it is in the West, but we can't just force an ENTIRE CULTURE to flip on a dime.

This is really moving. I understand its part of the culture for some Koreans, but I am so grateful for this organization. This video definitely had me shed a tear and I really hope Snow Ball is still there...me and my family are highly interested in adopting him.

There's no reason to save just dogs if you aren't willing and ready to save all the animals raised to be butchered and slaughtered for our "benefit/gain". But any effort in the saving of lives is worth thanking. So thank you for your effort:)

I send money ,I protest, I sign petitions ,I share awareness all over social media .....and nothing seems to work. We need to make this trade end. It's so not fair to these little guys. How on Earth someone can slaughter a dog? I mean I understand ppl who makes a point about eating chicken, pig etc being just as bad BUT the way they treat these dogs even before they kill them is just horrible. I have dogs and i love them dearly but on the other hand i TRY to understand that not everyone is like me. A dog to me means pet to someone else it means food which is alright but the poor animal doesn't need to suffer like that . Stuffed in cages where they can't even move n stuff . I commend this woman and organization for what she's doing, but I'm banging my head from frustration at the ignorant vegetarians down in the comments section (note, I said IGNORANT vegetarians - not ALL vegetarians). I know a good number of vegetarians who don't give a shit with people eating meat and they'd be pretty ashamed with all the forceful opinion shoving down there.
What makes this different from the typical pigs, cows and chickens is that those animals must be kept in good condition and killed humanely. It's the law and it is enforced in spite of what PETA shoves in other's faces (the same PETA who stirred shit over two video games just because it doesn't fit their ideals). Dogs in those countries are tortured painfully including being BOILED ALIVE. It was mentioned in the description and by a few people that the dogs were even STOLEN from their owners. The treatment of the dogs is highly inhumane, thus this is why it's a problem. Likewise, the breeds up there aren't even bred to be eaten whereas with cows and chickens, there are breeds specifically for meat, and breeds for specifically for eggs and dairy.
So if you're a vegetarian, good for you: that's your choice. But don't you dare accuse all people who eat meat as being heartless and shove your eating habits in other's faces that being vegetarian is the way to go and so that inherently makes you better for being more "caring" or "considerate". I'm not at all ashamed to eat meat but does that mean I love my dog any less? Fuck no. Remove your heads from your asses, and quit projecting the straw vegetarian image that makes people assume all vegetarians are stupid hippies that are insanely gung-ho about their ideals.
