    Good Afternoon Daniel,
    Bright and sunny here in Gravesend Kent but that music is definitely Dark! I know nothing about video games so I have no starting point with this tune but I am guessing that the composer is probably Polish given his name. The poor old Poles have been through a bit in the last few centuries and I always think that historically speaking what happens in the National Psyche often comes out in the music of the Land. Poland as a Nation has shifted about 300Kms east and then 300Km West and now sits somewhere in the middle of its historical boundaries so there is something of the Teutonic Knights about this piece.
    Nice to see you sporting a button down Collar. You look Ok after your Shots so no ill effects I am pleased to see! It is probably easier to roll your sleeve up in a conventional shirt.
    Did you get a chance to Listen to any Judee Sill? I would be interested to hear what you think.
    Do any other followers like Judee too I wonder?
    Thanks for Posting, I will have to listen to this one again and reference the video game but I probably won't play the game just the music.
    Keep Safe and Keep Playing
    Clive

    • @danbluedeer
      @danbluedeer  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks Clive,
      Dark, yes very dark. I'm not a player either, although from what I read these games are fascinating (and addicting)- wish I had the time. Yes, the Polish developers have the corner on the market for these games. The Slavonic mythology is allowed to run rampant and they do a fine job of it.
      We're feeling fine after the 1st vax and hoping the second won't flatten us out like a steamroller.
      I like the Judee Sill a lot but I'm not sure I could do justice to the music.
      if you look up the Lullaby video be forewarned - I'm kind of surprised I haven't had nightmares
      from working with that 2 1/2 minute video

    As someone who'd love to get into playing the lute, do you have a recommendation for what kind of lute to start with? Such a beautiful instrument!

    • @danbluedeer
      @danbluedeer  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks! most people start on the renaissance lute because the tuning is similar to guitar.
      The baroque lute I used for this video has a whole different tuning scheme.

    Hauntingly beautiful tune Dan. I like the background music you used as well.
    Odd question for you. How many “courses” is your lute, and for a beginner lute player, is there an optimum amount of courses? (Sorry, that’s two questions)

    • @danbluedeer
      @danbluedeer  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      this is a baroque lute with 11 courses. The tuning is quite different from a renaissance lute which can have from 6 to 10 courses. My renaissance lute is an 8-course and I think that is the ideal for me

    Just out of curiosity, how much did that lute cost you? It has such a complex sound with overtones and harmonics everywhere. And the bass strings are perfectly clear with a punchy tone while remaining heavy and sustaining for days. Really exquisite instrument, if it was a piano it'd be a Bosendorfer for sure.
