Getting Ready For Duck Hunting. 2016.

- Zachary came over this morning and helped get all the stuff needed for the upcoming Duck Hunting opener 2016 down from over the workshop. We will be in the duck blinds in just under 2 weeks. Duck Hunting 2016 "The Movie" will be here soon.

Great to see tradition in a society that seems to be so lazy. LOL season opens here Oct 1st cant wait.

We have the same tent. Can't go wrong with a Cabelas tent, we sure love ours. So nice and cozy especially when that woodstove is going. I have to tell you a story. One time we took the tent elk hunting. We had this cool looking spark arrestor that had 1/4 inch hardware cloth. During the second night the hardware cloth clogged up with creosote and we got smoked out of the tent. Not funny at the time but now we laugh about it. So now we use a spark arrester that no longer has that small of mesh. That smoke smell was embedded into everything, I guess you can say we got smoked.
We hope to take it deer hunting in a few weeks. We haven't used it for at least six years, looking forward to sleeping in it again. Good luck on the duck hunt :).

for your canoe ( by the way it looks good ) why don't you build a rack out of wood for it and keep it off the ground, it doesn't have to be very high, maybe 4', just was thinking

Our bow season opens up in just a little over a week!! Already getting stuff together, clothes, gear and even done some shooting with the bows. I have a compound, crossbow and a recurve, but I need to figure which to hunt with. I think I have already figured it out that I am going to use my Bowtech compound bow. I see you are like me, years of hunting you collect a LOT of gear don't you!!! Juddie - J & J TOA
Man you lads take a lot of gear to chase ducks. We have a bag of decors, shot gun and ammo pouch, lol. Thats it. Can't wait to see your setup with all this swag, will be a palace. ATB Moose

Joe with all the stuff that you haul up and down from the barn loft I think one of your winter projects should be a freight elevator to save your back. Work easier and play longer.
lol that sounds like a good idea even though he is very fit he looks like he's around 45 so in a couple of decades he may not be able to do stuff like lift stuff and what if he gets a back injury then how would he get the stuff down

Sorry if this sounds wierd, but I know where you hunt. My family used to hunt in that general area as well until we moved elsewhere. I often drive right past your campsite when exploring the back roads.
why don't you get a pop up or a small rv for the excursion hunts and trips. easier set up, more reliable, and you can pack everything you need and never unload it. just a thought I guess
