All DLC character should be at the top, because you cannot even lab them without paying. Training mode literally prevents you from learning DLC matchups if you have not bought DLC character.

Man I haven’t played tekken in awhile but I remember in low ranks I could get a 20 win streak with kuni by barely trying and then struggle to get a 2 win streak with Jin, who I’ve put 5x the amount of work learning compared to kuni.
30 Win streak in ranked with her and a 53 win streak in public matches... She's been my new main since she came out but super cheap can't disagree... I agree with you that you would of put a lot more work in with "Jin" but if you did the same with Kuni she becomes even more cheaper too win with... Half the time these days in ranked/public/private matches people leave the match before the 1st round starts or in private lobbys you get kicked straight away as soon as they see you main her....
I remember yesterday, a Marduk player did 14 freaking tackles in one round and I escaped 12 of them and won. After that I just did sidestep into launch and it turned out he run out of ideas. Don't give up and learn your enemy while you fight him!
As a paul main I use shredded kicks. Work like a charm😂 when i block his rage drive. J dont just standd there and guess his mixup. I use kicks. Sometime he gets launch some time a hit.

I have way more trouble vs kunimitsu, leroy easier to punish and reacting to his animations, also baiting parry or orbital whiff is easy, I like to df1 mixup with low pokes vs him. Only problem is leroy pluggers 😂
I've learned that against Leroy, you have to play like a robot. Like a machine. As soon as you see that parry or orbital animation end, you use your fastest launcher or move in your kit and you do this over and over again. I've only won against one Leroy and it was hell on earth with Negan

I can't tell you how bored I was playing Leroy when he first came out because of how OP he was. To me the easier the character is the less fun they are to use because they're nothing to them really.

Pretty much every character in the game has a at least one 'cheap' move, its just more so about how badly can some characters get away with it over others. Marduk's tackle IMO is the cheapest most OP move in the game, especially as a RD. Literally no character in the game can do anything anywhere close to what he can do.
I main Josie because I want to see the jiggles really but its actually hard to get her to advance after red ranks without fundamentals. But the hard work pays off because she's just simply easy on the eyes

Marduk might be cheap. But he's difficult to master. His moves are slow like every move has 2-3f lag. His combos are clunky and drop so much I had to find other mains.
Kazuya has a low win rate not because he's honest There's a lot more to it Story mode, him being the original main character makes him one of the most played characters in the game with a loooot of new comers picking him up And since he's "difficult" this also means he won't be getting a lot of wins due to that.
Absolutely true, but for some of us newer players just kinda want to learn fundamentals before moving on to other characters because if you start with a cheap character, there's progression but it doesn't really feel like you learn much compared to a character who is just straight up honest and helps you get into the Tekken mindset.
The only thing that justifies Raven being in A is the fact that she gets away with very punishable stuff due to no matchup knowledge. Otherwise, she's B or even high C.
Not only that but her would be punishable moves often have extensions. It’s constantly a battle of “should I try to punish that or should I wait to punish the extension”

Anna feels cheap imo. She has Nina can opener string and does she really need 2 lows that launch for combos? Just seems a bit too much. I personally knew quite a few ppl struggling to get out of yellow ranks get all the way up to mighty ruler with Anna. Even they would tell you she's cheap.
All her low are launch punishable, her can opener is just a knowledge check. Her crouch mix up is defo scary, just ssr her alot she can't really carry that far before u need to learn tekken unlike fahk and leroy

I definitely understood the King placement initially, but when it was all said and done King is cheaper than about half of the characters above him 😂 If u don’t lab rolling death cradle you can lose to pretty bad players. If you’re like me and have to warm up before being able to react to throws then running into King players early can get u blown up by otherwise free Kings, not to mention a less than ideal connection makes giant swing and hopkick basically a 50/50 You then get a fear of blocking which gets u counter hit all day. Your fundamentals go out the window and suddenly your on equal ground with a player with nothing but flowcharts. That’s the definition of cheap

A character that has 50,000 ways to launch you, has running bullshit from across the screen, so many crush moves, and it requires more effort to fight than it is to use. Compare that to a Mishima, hellsweep is extremely UNSAFE, electrics are high and require a just frame, can easily be side-stepped to the left, almost no gimmicks (Except for DJ but fuck him), they are super reliant on conditioning before they even get to play properly which is especially clear with electric pressure since no one respects it (compare that to Josie that can just fight anyone without setup). TL;DR Mishimas take extreme risks to do anything meaningful, Josie players win because of the smallest of risks done by their opponent. Press buttons until you win.

I straight up don't think Josie is cheap at all and I main Steve. She's legitimately steppable from her lean back stance and while she do be having some plus frames, you have 60 seconds to choose how to win the round, spending a few of those to block and learn the enemy's attack patterns is to your benefit. I haven't met a single Josie I couldn't beat in a long set, but of course that is a anecdote.

I mostly agree with the tier list, but with 2 exceptions: 1. King should be at least A because not only no one on online matches break throws, he also has quite some pretty disgusting oki and wall setups. I have a friend who's a Fujin King and even though I've fought his King for hundreds of times I still can't get used to King's setups, there's just too many. He plays King, but it almost feels like I'm playing against Xiaoyu and that's one solid proof that King certainly could be cheesier than you think. 2. It doesn't make sense to see Eliza not in the same tier as other 2D chars. Sure literally no one plays her, but she's really hard to use, and compared to the other 2Ds she's arguably the weakest. She has the least execution output (how much one can get from paying the execution grind) compared to other 2D's. Sure she has lots abusable moves, but so do Geese and Akuma. I think it's either put Eliza down to A-tier or put Geese and Akuma up to S-tier.
TBFIt takes a long ass time to learn all the set ups for different situations with king because like while there are a ton of amazing set ups they are hella niche and can be difficult to pull off.
I agree with the eliza especially coz once you learn the match up (which is pretty easy coz 1. She doesn't have a million moves and 2. All her lows are launch punishable) her gimmicky stuff becomes useless

It's borderline impossible to just watch a guide video and expect to have the muscle memory to counter those setups overnight.

TMM plays king, and i think that makes him understand his "honesty". King has no pressure tools at all, he has like 3 plus moves which is neat cause if not he would be broken. The thing is once you know his basic setups, you find it really difficult to open your oponnent if he has a good defence, and then you need to start playing real tekken.
Kazuya is definitely cheesy. These people are biased. Those sweeps are used at least 7 times in 3 rounds. And Kazuya players only use 3 to 4 moves to win and all those moves are cheesy.

After a year of tekken, I realized that tekken was not a game about honesty, more like a battle of cheese, even with kazuya I always try to be the most scummish and ''unfair'' as possible.
There was a time where I would see this game as if it was like some kind of contest. "Who has the most cheap stuff, and who can abuse it the most?". That's how I saw the game once.
What changed? Because that's how everyone should view this game. It's cheap af overall, compared to almost every other top tier fighting game, especially online.
@@dyhrbergdk9541 Well, that's a matter of opinion but I feel like having a way to eventually parry air juggling the same way you can parry low blows would put a lot more emphasis on skill than in spending the entire round trying to catch someone off guard and juggle them to death. I would also appreciate if they would fix some of the buggy issues that happen in walled stages in the corners. I've lost so many close matches because the character suddenly reversed positions in a corner mid combo. I know it's a matter of personal preference but I also hate the way you can continuously combo someone up off the ground and I'm talking about starting a combo that way, not an ongoing combo. It is what it is, though. I'm not as annoyed as I was when I first made these comments weeks ago. I'm just more used to the mechanics of old school 2D fighters. The last Tekken I really got into was Pt 3 lol.
The problem with this kind of thing, as always, is that TMM's definition of "honest" depends on what he views as "effort", and he immediately excludes most forms of "mental effort" as something that requires actual skill. To him, effort is only doing good combos, poking, moving, punishing, etc, but outplaying your opponent mentally is not. Like many Tekken players, he only views something as honest when he perceives himself as the source of his own mistakes. If he loses because he missed a critical punish, that is fair, because he realizes his mistakes. However, the moment his opponent's playstyle is what is forcing him to make stupid mistakes, and he can't even tell why he isn't winning anymore, then it's the character's fault, the character is carrying the other guy, etc. Like most, he would never admit it is the other player's effort and skill at play. That it takes as much or arguably even more effort to make another intelligent human being to make a huge mistake, than to repeatedly land a guaranteed punish into a guaranteed combo. That it is harder to frustrate an opponent to the point they are no longer blocking slow, seeable lows than to land multiple unseeable low pokes. Dancing around your opponent while doing risky moves may look cheap, but it is arguably more difficult than mastering block punishment, poking, movement, etc, because unlike those, it is never guaranteed to work on everyone.
Spamming cheap shit to make someone lose their patience isn't skillful. It relies on the other player getting aggressive and making the mistake for you. Your not intelligently creating a gap in their armor, your throwing enough rocks until one finds its way in. Also "risky" LULW
It doesn't work like that, spamming tackles with Marduk or parries with Asuka takes no skill and can be extremely effective. Everyone knows that some characters are cheaper than others.

Meanwhile, an "honest" character can ravage an entire health bar with a single launch and one ultra safe low poke. "Dishonest" characters normally need 4 to 5 mistakes per ROUND, more mistakes in a round than they are allowed in an entire match. Statistically, this means just blocking randomly should make you much more likely to win than they are. Yet doing that will most certainly fail. Wanna know why? Because it takes skill to make others look like idiots. If you think that is easy to pull-off consistently, you are hopelessly underestimating your opponent, and as long as you keep doing that, you are going to have your ego crushed only to come online to whine about it.
7:59 "50/50 is always in Kazuya favor. " - that is actually true for most of the 50/50 offense in Tekken. Attacker in most cases gets the advantage. Just write down all options, how opponent can punish them, your reward, his reward, et.c., and you will see that on average attacker gets more out of this than the defender.
The chance to get the opponent or that he will get you is still 50/50 so, yes you get more as an attacker but it still is a 50/50 chance so people bullshiting on him still doesn’t make up for it, even with your argumentation

I used to have a warrior kazuya and a purple rank katarina. Kazuya was always my main, I got bored of not playing my main and I kept trying until I got my kazuya to suzaku. Just play the character you enjoy even if it is harder that way, in the end it is going to be way more rewarding. I never felt any feeling of accomplishment getting katarina to purple.
21:50 as a lei main yes I do love being quite cheesy. Im fairly new to the tekken scene, only been playing a few months now. Im still in yellow ranks so no one attack me I am practicing my fundamentals 🥺 But for real tho I just love lei as a character. I like having 13 stances lol. Even watched the legend of the drunken master with Jackie Chan, great movie btw. Still haven’t seen police story. I’ve heard good things about it though.

As a person whose been playing tekken 7 for only a year I agree that whenever I get into a match whether it be casual or ranked if I see a lucky Chloe or kunimitsu I leave the match instantly
As a Nina main I have to disagree (obviously lol). She can be cheap at beginner and intermediate level (can opener, mashing pressure, etc.) but she has no panick move nor a hopkick and at advanced/tournament level she's so punishable it's crazy, one of the reasons why you don't see her in tournaments. So I feel like she belongs to B or A top, but definitely not S.
I say B. I used to main nina and asuka (now just asuka). Nina is one of those characters that is meme or get memed on. Not like other characters. She does have some very cheap stuff going with her but it's not marduk or leroy or fahk levels of i want to rip my hair out yknow?
I would argue the difficulty tierlist looks similar except for akuma and geese. There is somewhat of a correlation of difficult characters vs cheese characters.
I think some cheese is useful for teaching beginners fundamentals like throw breaks and movement. For instance, Bryan's Snake Edge teaches players to block low and punish. But a character having so much cheese that you have spend hours lagging the matchup will just ruin the game for low and intermediate players.
As a Yoshi main, I will agree that he can be quite cheap, but I wouldn't put him in S Tier. Sure he has a lot of unorthodox moves and it can be hard to figure out what he's doing, but man once you reach that intermediate threshold it can be very difficult to win with him. There is a reason he is at the bottom of the win percentage list. Sure he has a lot of gimmicky moves and set ups, but his tools are not that good. His lows aren't that good, shit his mids aren't either. Sword sweep is very seeable and reactable, if a Yoshi ducks for a split second, hopkick. Flash is indeed the fastest move in the game but it has NO range and is punishable on whiff. If you were interrupted with flash it was either a very lucky guess or that Yoshi has some knowledge of how your strings/pressure works. I have lived and died by sword sweep and flash my whole Tekken 7 career lol
I can't say I main yoshi coz I haven't played him long enough and I suck so hard at execution in most of his moves when it really matters the most, but I do play him more often than my main leo, or my other character that I play to rest my hands, claudio xD
Agreed, i'd say he needs at least as much work and research as Xiaoyu to make the character work. The sword sweep is an oki only move once you reach deep blue ranks. Just like Xiaoyu's uf1+2 crossup, you will only eat it if you techroll. It doesn't really matter if it's a low, regardless of what the online etiquette says. By the way if you don't techroll at the sword sweep, it recovers slowly enough for you to get up and whiff punish with a hopkick or a WS launcher. Random flash can be considered cheese but that's mostly relevant against sluggish big characters like Marduk and Gigas, which leads to argue it's more of a matchup floodgate than inherent cheese (like Bryan's db2 becoming "cheese" against an Eddy player). But being able to punish Kuni's SET2 or interrupt Devil Jin's b12 with the flash can't be called cheese. Of course Yoshi is extremely cheap and tricky to face but he requires too much research to be on par with Lei or Zafina.

Yeah Kaz is not a definition of honest, at least not in T7. So what that he has shit poking and no evasion, all he needs is one hellsweap or one move that gives him plus frames and you're in a nightmare blender. I can't get it to be honest. You rate some of the characters like Bryan as characters played in high level and some of them as green-orange rank characters like law or maven. I can't see how Bryan is hard to play in lower ranks. But i can see how he is in higher ranks. Same with law, maven and Shaheen (pretty cheap in higher ranks imo). Let me voice "my own" opinion. From my fights against Bryan since low to now upper intermediate rank, he has good tools, but not abusable string/setup/cheesy stuffs. He approaches and attacks "fundamentally" (in contrast of some bs like Julia party crasher) and defends against me "fundamentally" (in contrast of some bs like Feng's bunches of evasive and panic moves). To me Bryan should be ranked below any Mishimas. EWGF by itself is abusable.

TMM didn't put Kazuya in the bottom tier because he simps Mishimas. You'll understand how Strong or decent your main is by practicing him/her for years. And everything TMM says in this video is correct, this is why I sub to this guy.
As Julia player in lower rank (and as someone who is very new to the game), I can tell you that she's super cheap. f3~1, back 3, 4., bow and arrow, wind roll mix ups.. All super effective in low rank. But you are right, she needs a lot of work in higher level because I'm stuck in yellow :(. All of her moves are super risky and punishable.
all you need to do is just spam f,F+1. Just spam it until you opponent is too scared to press buttons, then do your mixup. They start pressing against your mixup? More f,F+1. Repeat until someone dies.

I feel that if a character is truly easy, OP and cheap garnering easy wins, you would see them online all the time. I rarely see Nina and Anna players online. If they are truly that OP and cheap, then I would imagine many more people would main them. Btw, Nina is very hard to properly learn and spamming will only get you so far if the opponent has decent fundamentals.
Exactly. He's only talking from his experience, which isn't true all around the world. The European players on the PC couldn't deal with his Nina, because they're disgustingly terrible at the game. Then he uses that to tell people all over the world that Nina takes no knowledge of the game to win. I main Feng but it took me forever to get good with him. You have to utilize his whole move list to be effective. Then you have to understand how to implement his stances. A lot of fengs play mashy but once you get into yellows you pay with your life because he's easily steppable and some of his stuff is death on block.
I play Feng and that man has everything. If u want to play aggressive, you can! If u want to turtle and keep out, you can! U have stances to get out, u got stances to go in! U can play safe with fast annoying pokes or u can go crazy with chunky 50/50s! You don’t need his whole move set because the options are too vast, think about this. U block a hopkick with Feng how do u punish? U can do 1,3 or 1,2,1 or 1,2,1 into BT or df4,3 or b1+2 each one has a specific benefit over the others. Vs let’s say Asuka. My -13 hopkick punish is always 2,3 U have to use the moves that are going to best suit your play style and use everything else very situationally. Feng is SUPER versatile… and cheap 😂

I just switched to dragunov and Ive earned my same rank faster while my fundamentals are improving. Using space to create whiffs then hitting people with drag's df2 is so rewarding for me personally. Makes me feel like a better player.

I agree with this list for the most part. I play Paul and I pretty much spammed my way into the red ranks. Maybe he could be S tier just because he could spam a lot and unless you are going for big boy combos, almost no execution required. As for the bottom of the list (C&D), whenever I face them since the ruler ranks, it is always a tough match.

I would honestly love to see ThemainmanSWE pick up Master Raven. In this list, I feel as though she's C tier for cheap. If you don't know her match up, you WILL get mixed in the sauce. But she doesn't have the best frames and knowing the match up is same as Eddy, super difficult...but my God is she fun to use.
All DLC character should be at the top, because you cannot even lab them without paying. Training mode literally prevents you from learning DLC matchups if you have not bought DLC character.

Man I haven’t played tekken in awhile but I remember in low ranks I could get a 20 win streak with kuni by barely trying and then struggle to get a 2 win streak with Jin, who I’ve put 5x the amount of work learning compared to kuni.

I remember yesterday, a Marduk player did 14 freaking tackles in one round and I escaped 12 of them and won. After that I just did sidestep into launch and it turned out he run out of ideas. Don't give up and learn your enemy while you fight him!

I've learned that against Leroy, you have to play like a robot. Like a machine.
As soon as you see that parry or orbital animation end, you use your fastest launcher or move in your kit and you do this over and over again. I've only won against one Leroy and it was hell on earth with Negan

Pretty much every character in the game has a at least one 'cheap' move, its just more so about how badly can some characters get away with it over others. Marduk's tackle IMO is the cheapest most OP move in the game, especially as a RD. Literally no character in the game can do anything anywhere close to what he can do.

Absolutely true, but for some of us newer players just kinda want to learn fundamentals before moving on to other characters because if you start with a cheap character, there's progression but it doesn't really feel like you learn much compared to a character who is just straight up honest and helps you get into the Tekken mindset.

If u don’t lab rolling death cradle you can lose to pretty bad players.
If you’re like me and have to warm up before being able to react to throws then running into King players early can get u blown up by otherwise free Kings, not to mention a less than ideal connection makes giant swing and hopkick basically a 50/50

A character that has 50,000 ways to launch you, has running bullshit from across the screen, so many crush moves, and it requires more effort to fight than it is to use. Compare that to a Mishima, hellsweep is extremely UNSAFE, electrics are high and require a just frame, can easily be side-stepped to the left, almost no gimmicks (Except for DJ but fuck him), they are super reliant on conditioning before they even get to play properly which is especially clear with electric pressure since no one respects it (compare that to Josie that can just fight anyone without setup).
TL;DR
Mishimas take extreme risks to do anything meaningful, Josie players win because of the smallest of risks done by their opponent. Press buttons until you win.

She's legitimately steppable from her lean back stance and while she do be having some plus frames, you have 60 seconds to choose how to win the round, spending a few of those to block and learn the enemy's attack patterns is to your benefit. I haven't met a single Josie I couldn't beat in a long set, but of course that is a anecdote.

I mostly agree with the tier list, but with 2 exceptions:
1. King should be at least A because not only no one on online matches break throws, he also has quite some pretty disgusting oki and wall setups. I have a friend who's a Fujin King and even though I've fought his King for hundreds of times I still can't get used to King's setups, there's just too many. He plays King, but it almost feels like I'm playing against Xiaoyu and that's one solid proof that King certainly could be cheesier than you think.
2. It doesn't make sense to see Eliza not in the same tier as other 2D chars. Sure literally no one plays her, but she's really hard to use, and compared to the other 2Ds she's arguably the weakest. She has the least execution output (how much one can get from paying the execution grind) compared to other 2D's. Sure she has lots abusable moves, but so do Geese and Akuma. I think it's either put Eliza down to A-tier or put Geese and Akuma up to S-tier.
TBFIt takes a long ass time to learn all the set ups for different situations with king because like while there are a ton of amazing set ups they are hella niche and can be difficult to pull off.
I agree with the eliza especially coz once you learn the match up (which is pretty easy coz 1. She doesn't have a million moves and 2. All her lows are launch punishable) her gimmicky stuff becomes useless

It's borderline impossible to just watch a guide video and expect to have the muscle memory to counter those setups overnight.

TMM plays king, and i think that makes him understand his "honesty". King has no pressure tools at all, he has like 3 plus moves which is neat cause if not he would be broken. Kazuya is definitely cheesy. These people are biased. Those sweeps are used at least 7 times in 3 rounds. And Kazuya players only use 3 to 4 moves to win and all those moves are cheesy.

I would also appreciate if they would fix some of the buggy issues that happen in walled stages in the corners. I've lost so many close matches because the character suddenly reversed positions in a corner mid combo. I know it's a matter of personal preference but I also hate the way you can continuously combo someone up off the ground and I'm talking about starting a combo that way, not an ongoing combo. It is what it is, though. I'm not as annoyed as I was when I first made these comments weeks ago. I'm just more used to the mechanics of old school 2D fighters. The last Tekken I really got into was Pt 3 lol.

The problem with this kind of thing, as always, is that TMM's definition of "honest" depends on what he views as "effort", and he immediately excludes most forms of "mental effort" as something that requires actual skill. To him, effort is only doing good combos, poking, moving, punishing, etc, but outplaying your opponent mentally is not. Like many Tekken players, he only views something as honest when he perceives himself as the source of his own mistakes. If he loses because he missed a critical punish, that is fair, because he realizes his mistakes. However, the moment his opponent's playstyle is what is forcing him to make stupid mistakes, and he can't even tell why he isn't winning anymore, then it's the character's fault, the character is carrying the other guy, etc. Like most, he would never admit it is the other player's effort and skill at play. That it takes as much or arguably even more effort to make another intelligent human being to make a huge mistake, than to repeatedly land a guaranteed punish into a guaranteed combo. That it is harder to frustrate an opponent to the point they are no longer blocking slow, seeable lows than to land multiple unseeable low pokes.
Dancing around your opponent while doing risky moves may look cheap, but it is arguably more difficult than mastering block punishment, poking, movement, etc, because unlike those, it is never guaranteed to work on everyone.
Spamming cheap shit to make someone lose their patience isn't skillful. It relies on the other player getting aggressive and making the mistake for you. Your not intelligently creating a gap in their armor, your throwing enough rocks until one finds its way in.

Meanwhile, an "honest" character can ravage an entire health bar with a single launch and one ultra safe low poke. "Dishonest" characters normally need 4 to 5 mistakes per ROUND, more mistakes in a round than they are allowed in an entire match. Statistically, this means just blocking randomly should make you much more likely to win than they are. Yet doing that will most certainly fail. Wanna know why? Because it takes skill to make others look like idiots. If you think that is easy to pull-off consistently, you are hopelessly underestimating your opponent, and as long as you keep doing that, you are going to have your ego crushed only to come online to whine about it.

I used to have a warrior kazuya and a purple rank katarina. Kazuya was always my main, I got bored of not playing my main and I kept trying until I got my kazuya to suzaku. Just play the character you enjoy even if it is harder that way, in the end it is going to be way more rewarding. I never felt any feeling of accomplishment getting katarina to purple.

As a Nina main I have to disagree (obviously lol). She can be cheap at beginner and intermediate level (can opener, mashing pressure, etc.) but she has no panick move nor a hopkick and at advanced/tournament level she's so punishable it's crazy, one of the reasons why you don't see her in tournaments. So I feel like she belongs to B or A top, but definitely not S.
I say B. I used to main nina and asuka (now just asuka). Nina is one of those characters that is meme or get memed on. Not like other characters. She does have some very cheap stuff going with her but it's not marduk or leroy or fahk levels of i want to rip my hair out yknow?

I would argue the difficulty tierlist looks similar except for akuma and geese. There is somewhat of a correlation of difficult characters vs cheese characters.
I think some cheese is useful for teaching beginners fundamentals like throw breaks and movement. For instance, Bryan's Snake Edge teaches players to block low and punish. But a character having so much cheese that you have spend hours lagging the matchup will just ruin the game for low and intermediate players.

As a Yoshi main, I will agree that he can be quite cheap, but I wouldn't put him in S Tier. Sure he has a lot of unorthodox moves and it can be hard to figure out what he's doing, but man once you reach that intermediate threshold it can be very difficult to win with him. There is a reason he is at the bottom of the win percentage list. Sure he has a lot of gimmicky moves and set ups, but his tools are not that good. His lows aren't that good, shit his mids aren't either. Sword sweep is very seeable and reactable, if a Yoshi ducks for a split second, hopkick. Flash is indeed the fastest move in the game but it has NO range and is punishable on whiff. If you were interrupted with flash it was either a very lucky guess or that Yoshi has some knowledge of how your strings/pressure works. I have lived and died by sword sweep and flash my whole Tekken 7 career lol

Agreed, i'd say he needs at least as much work and research as Xiaoyu to make the character work. The sword sweep is an oki only move once you reach deep blue ranks. Just like Xiaoyu's uf1+2 crossup, you will only eat it if you techroll. It doesn't really matter if it's a low, regardless of what the online etiquette says.
By the way if you don't techroll at the sword sweep, it recovers slowly enough for you to get up and whiff punish with a hopkick or a WS launcher.
Random flash can be considered cheese but that's mostly relevant against sluggish big characters like Marduk and Gigas, which leads to argue it's more of a matchup floodgate than inherent cheese (like Bryan's db2 becoming "cheese" against an Eddy player). But being able to punish Kuni's SET2 or interrupt Devil Jin's b12 with the flash can't be called cheese.
Of course Yoshi is extremely cheap and tricky to face but he requires too much research to be on par with Lei or Zafina.

a character with the best move in the game, that is longe range, almost homing, high/mid, unsteppable for many characters, safe,fast whiff recovery, spamable, launching and enormous pushback at the bottom is great
Yeah Kaz is not a definition of honest, at least not in T7. So what that he has shit poking and no evasion, all he needs is one hellsweap or one move that gives him plus frames and you're in a nightmare blender. The fact that they gave him ff4 makes his gameplay all more braindead compared to older games. Plus all those thing that you mentioned.

I can't get it to be honest. You rate some of the characters like Bryan as characters played in high level and some of them as green-orange rank characters like law or maven. I can't see how Bryan is hard to play in lower ranks. But i can see how he is in higher ranks. Same with law, maven and Shaheen (pretty cheap in higher ranks imo). But that's your opinion of course and ill take it
Let me voice "my own" opinion. From my fights against Bryan since low to now upper intermediate rank, he has good tools, but not abusable string/setup/cheesy stuffs. He approaches and attacks "fundamentally" (in contrast of some bs like Julia party crasher) and defends against me "fundamentally" (in contrast of some bs like Feng's bunches of evasive and panic moves). To me Bryan should be ranked below any Mishimas. EWGF by itself is abusable.

As Julia player in lower rank (and as someone who is very new to the game), I can tell you that she's super cheap. f3~1, back 3, 4., bow and arrow, wind roll mix ups.. All super effective in low rank. But you are right, she needs a lot of work in higher level because I'm stuck in yellow :(. All of her moves are super risky and punishable.
all you need to do is just spam f,F+1. Just spam it until you opponent is too scared to press buttons, then do your mixup. They start pressing against your mixup? More f,F+1. Repeat until someone dies.

I feel that if a character is truly easy, OP and cheap garnering easy wins, you would see them online all the time. I rarely see Nina and Anna players online. If they are truly that OP and cheap, then I would imagine many more people would main them. Btw, Nina is very hard to properly learn and spamming will only get you so far if the opponent has decent fundamentals.
Exactly. He's only talking from his experience, which isn't true all around the world. The European players on the PC couldn't deal with his Nina, because they're disgustingly terrible at the game. They kept on repeatedly getting hit by stupid moves like can opener, df3,44, and uf1. It was absolutely ridiculous, as if he was playing at 3rd Dan. Then he uses that to tell people all over the world that Nina takes no knowledge of the game to win. Meanwhile, Nina players all over the world practice very hard and learn matchups, and still struggle. This dude is crazy.

I main Feng but it took me forever to get good with him. You have to utilize his whole move list to be effective. Then you have to understand how to implement his stances. A lot of fengs play mashy but once you get into yellows you pay with your life because he's easily steppable and some of his stuff is death on block.
I play Feng and that man has everything. If u want to play aggressive, you can! If u want to turtle and keep out, you can! U have stances to get out, u got stances to go in! U can play safe with fast annoying pokes or u can go crazy with chunky 50/50s!
You don’t need his whole move set because the options are too vast, think about this.
U block a hopkick with Feng how do u punish?
U can do 1,3 or 1,2,1 or 1,2,1 into BT or df4,3 or b1+2 each one has a specific benefit over the others.
Vs let’s say Asuka. My -13 hopkick punish is always 2,3
U have to use the moves that are going to best suit your play style and use everything else very situationally. Feng is SUPER versatile… and cheap 😂

I just switched to dragunov and Ive earned my same rank faster while my fundamentals are improving. Using space to create whiffs then hitting people with drag's df2 is so rewarding for me personally. Makes me feel like a better player.

I agree with this list for the most part. I play Paul and I pretty much spammed my way into the red ranks. Maybe he could be S tier just because he could spam a lot and unless you are going for big boy combos, almost no execution required. As for the bottom of the list (C&D), whenever I face them since the ruler ranks, it is always a tough match.
I cant play with Paul, i just get outspammed always. Oh god, how much i hate braindead kids using only lows/grabs/imbalanced strings. What is the point of teaching characters if you lose to spammer who doesn't even know any staple combos

I would honestly love to see ThemainmanSWE pick up Master Raven. In this list, I feel as though she's C tier for cheap. If you don't know her match up, you WILL get mixed in the sauce. But she doesn't have the best frames and knowing the match up is same as Eddy, super difficult...but my God is she fun to use.
