This and campfire cooking i absolutely adored that season. The subtle thing about this anime is that it is indeed about male fantasy, but the fantasy is to be needed and respected by your community as well as providing for your family.
At first you made me think of Laid Back Camp, but there was that fantasy-themed campfire cooking show, wasn't there? I don't think I ever watched that one. I like your idea that the actual male fantasy in the show is a much healthier one about belonging and being useful to people.
@@littleorphananimeYT you should.check out camp fire cooking in another world with my absurd skill. If you like isekai shokudou then you'll basically love that one too. Its basically a laid back foodie show
I really liked the show. I don’t usually watch harem shows (cause I’m gay), but by the end i was more invested in the women and their desire to create a safe and empowered space for themselves rather than the male protagonist. He offered such a strong backbone to the entire story and i really enjoyed just having a good time reflecting on the good things life has to offer, fruits of hard labour and the values of community.
I agree that this one is quite different from your typical harem show, and a lot of people who don't usually like harems should check it out anyway. You point out that vibe of community building and being able to take ownership of your own hard work, and I think that comes through really well in the anime.
Isekai has 2 unique directions: The most common is traveling through a parallel world via magic [portal]. Anything from basics like Alice in Wonder, Wizard of Oz, and Peter Pan to common anime like Digimon and Gate. Another is to die in one world and be reincarnated in another world.
Both types also have a few great examples followed by a lot of lackluster imitations. I'm glad this one was able to surprise me with how much I enjoyed it.
I also heard it wasn't the trash harem I expected. Kinda wished I watched it when it was airing, I ended up skipping. Too much on my plate with the newer stuff, monster hunter, the gym, and work for me to go back now. I like the art style. It's light and cute. I'm a sucker for all things cute
Just monster hunter itself is a full-time job. The art style for this show was pretty cute, especially when they did chibi style. Surprisingly relaxing show.
@@littleorphananimeYT we need more relaxing shows. Definitely need a nerve calmer after my home hero. Too bad I have to wait for episode 2 of insomniacs
Thank you for the review. 13 wives is too many. He should have stopped at 6 at (so he can have 1 rest day). Might be weird but I like hearing that he gets married right away. It’s a change of pace. I remember feeling that way when I watched SAO. I was like what protagonists that don’t beat around the bush. 😯
Honestly speaking this was an extremely rare example of censorship making a show better. The manga it's based on is a lot more forward in how the MC is effectively a breeding stud for everyone that moves in. The anime doesn't bring it up as often so we can instead pay more attention to the Rune Factory like city building.
I think this anime would be better if there were balanced characters with both men and women, the anime itself has a nice start ep 1, but it really become weird after it, I though this anime is much more survival isekai something. like farming to help people, or helping communities and by farming he can supply something and grow far beyond.
I try every Isekai and watched the first episodes of this since it seemed to be about survival in another world, even though farming is not exciting to watch. After the elves and the same story of new characters kept coming I saw it was a boring harem show and stopped. It reminded me of the Sims games that I do not like. New people come and want to be fed, but I would not want most of them there. And the vampire lady and the rest possibly hurting him was lame because the guy is so OP he doesn't care about being attacked. I watched all of the recent Isekai about the guy who orders and cooks food from another world because it was funny sometimes. My fav of the current season is the Konosuba prequel about Megumin. Konosuba is a top 10 of all time because comedy is king. haha
The show can definitely get repetitive, so it's going to bore some people. Having such a low-stakes plot can make it relaxing too, though. But I can see how it might put some people to sleep. If Konosuba is the standard for isekai, then a lot of shows are going to fall short of that. 😆

I do kind of wish they at least acknowledged Hiraku's many children.
I'm anime only, so I didn't even think of this. How many are there? . . . Thousands?
@@littleorphananimeYT I think a dozen or so in the manga

He doesn't need to rest since god granted him a healthy body (he's pretty much nigh-immortal) so he never really tires out.

Yeah, I never like to give props to censorship, but I think you've got a good point (and I also got Rune Factory vibes from the show)
Wholesome Harems are my favorite
There aren't a ton of them out there, so if you think of any to recommend, let me know.
@@littleorphananimeYT true, most are wholesome lewds like my cell phone in another world
Zabuton is my favorite character in the anime
Zabuton is great! No drama, just shows up, solves a problem, and then goes back up the tree.
Im in 776 chapter
