Pilotsview EXTREME LANDING A319 into Paro Bhutan

JustPlanes in the Cockpit of the DRUK AIR Airbus A319 flying into one of the most extreme airports, specially for Airbus aircraft.

All I can say is holy crap. One gust of unexpected wind shear and recovery to go around is virtually impossible. I’ll bet that the villagers don’t even give landings and takeoffs a second thought. This is one of the best videos that I have seen in a long time. Great job.

I got to fly into and out of Paro in 2008. It was an incredible experience. Druk cancels flights when there is a hint of fog. They have an excellent safety record.

You need a windshield mounted GoPro connected to a tablet to let the pilot see the runway. Pretty hairy to see mountains in the windshield until the plane banks left over the runway at the last second.

It's visual flying rules there. No landing electronics installed.
