  • The word "quitter" has long been used as a disparaging term; a quitter is commonly seen as someone who is unmotivated, uncommitted, and unable to endure hardship. Yet, leaving behind her long-time pursuit of cello helped Bonnie Shao to realize that quitting something is often just as difficult as sticking it out. In this talk, Bonnie explores the factors that prompted her to quit cello and presents the idea that perhaps the label of "quitter" is not the emblem of shame that it is often perceived to be. Bonnie Shao is a freshman at Winsor from Weston, MA. She is passionate about theater and writing and played cello for 10 years. She has published three novels: The Xia Stories series, inspired by her experiences as a first-generation Chinese-American, and aims to explore issues of identity through her work. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at www.ted.com/tedx

I can leave something to go towards something that I love the most !
There is no shame or guilt for that ! Just take a risk to try ! If I do not try I will not know !
