Im about to do the bearings on a 185s. Been riding 3 wheeler for 25 something years and never had to replace these on any trike ive had. You have 100% more experience than I when it comes to this!
@@Hillbillypunk im pretty sure this is the worst big red I have ever seen when it comes to abuse of the machine, It belonged to a guy who jumped it and rode thru creeks and ponds then was sold to a cow farmer that also abused it. Its actually setting with a smoking engine right now as i round up parts to rebuild the engine.
@@WesleySnyder sounds like that one has earned it's keep! I drug home this '82 185s the other day, it's complete tho. Completely full of spiders and rust and everything sucks on it. My favorite kind hahah Came with a really cool Super Trap exhaust, I'm probably gonna stick that on my much nicer '84 200s.
Hey Wesley, this is one of the best videos I've seen in a while! Got to do the same to my '83 Big Red.....just the brakes though! Adjusted all the way and nothing! Love your down-to-earth approach and ''backyard'' humor! Great video man!
Hey thanks. This was a fun video to make. Unfortunately something happend to the engine. It smokes alot now. So ill be making a video of me figuring that out 😀👍 so stay tuned.
Recently got myself a ATC 200e 1982, was wondering what the drain plug is for on the bottom of the brake side housing/outer case ? water drain perhaps ? thanks all and great video Wes
So I'm doing the same job on my 83 atc 200... My problem is that the outer ring of the old bearing seemed to be very stuck inside the housings... I haven't had time to try a lot but any tips on getting them out?
I would use some heat like from a propane torch. And use a piece of pipe that fits the axle flange real good and pound them out. Good luck. Thanks for watching 👍😎
@@WesleySnyder no worries dude, i just got into atcs got myself a 1984 200s, your videos are the reason ill get this thing going again. im sorry your views are no longer reflecting how much people apricate them, im sure they do as much as i
Heat it with a propane torch and spray it with something like PB blast or WD-40, that might get it. Also a steel bar on the back of the rim hub hit with a hammer could work. Good luck.
@WesleySnyder ended up getting it but now I'm having a hell of a time with the drum over the rear brakes 😂 I don't think this rear end has even been apart to be honest
@@WesleySnyder oh yeah it definitely worked. I had tons of play in the rear end, So I got the axel out and my whole left side of the carrier is pretty much shot so definitely need a new one 😩 Just kinda hard to find parts in this day and age for these trikes lol
I couldn't find one either so no I didn't replace it. Mine was ok but if you need one you can measure it with calipers and maybe find something on the stens website

Makes sense to leave the axle carrier in the frame. I wonder why most other videos have it removed? I’m leaving mine in lol
Seemed the right thing to do at the moment. Thanks for watching 👍😎
Will this work for a 1980 Honda ATC 185??
I'm not positive but i think it will work fine.
