I'd heard this song time and time again on my way to work, but had never seen the video. As I was watching the video, I kept thinking they were waiting to get into a baseball field. I couldn't wait to see what they were looking at through the fence. Wow.... Trace, what a touching dedication to our troops. God Bless you and our troops.

I know a lot of comments on this song are about soldiers, I dedicate this to my grandpa who passed away a year ago, no he wasn't a soldier, but he was a damn good man who took care of us :(

I know what you mean my grandfather(papa) passed back in 2015(in his sleep so he felt no pain) that man I wish was my father He was a great man who loved God, and taught me how to treat everyone with respect. He was an Vietnam War Veteran in the US Army 101st Screaming Eagles airborne, he was an officer(don't know his rank I think it was 2nd Lt or 1st Lt). I miss that man so much

This is the first time I've heard this. Don't listen to the radio much anymore, mostly garbage. But this is one of Trace's best!!! I cried. And it's not just about soldiers, it's about family. God first, family second. It's in that order cuz God takes care of us even when we aren't worthy....believing and honoring Him and He's there every single time. Thanks for sharing this video!!!
My best friend's brother is in this music video. He is the tall dark headed one at 3:53. He is great, he served in Afghanistan twice I believe and his brother was just assigned to be deployed to Iraq. I am so blessed to know these men and the sacrifice they are willing to make for me.

My baby looks a lot like Trace. This video always makes me cry as I come from a long line of vets. I have had ancestors all the way back to Revolutionary War fight for this country, its people and its land. The Vets did not fight for the government which we know is wicked to the core, but they fought and fight for us the people. I have a great respect for all vets and you better not disrespect the flag or the people who served it when I am around.

I lost my father June 16, 2017. My parents 44th anniversary. :( He was killed by a driver who was not paying attention. This person stole a piece of my heart. I feel empty inside. It hurts so bad. My father died in the OR, alone. I wasn't there to hold his hand as God took him from this earth. I'm broken but I need to be strong for my wife and kids. Family is all that matters. Period. I love you dad. We will be together again, I promise.

maybe someone can help me find a song that I heard back in the early to mid 1980's. It was a country song, sung by a male artist, and this artist had a deep voice similar to Trace Adkins, however my searching through his music, did not give me the results. Chorus was "My bags are packed, sitting by the door" Or you don't want me here anymore, something along these lines. When I heard the song by Dido don't leave home, it definately struck a cord. I was only 9 at the time. The song is touching.

I can keep dry eyed during the whole song...right until it shows the soldiers walking down that ramp. That's when the song really goes into perspective and you feel it deep down inside you. I pray that the Lord God my shield my Brothers and Sisters from harm as they answer duty's call.

I absolutely love this song because it is so true. Things always seem more important at the moment than in the days ahead, and priorities really do change. I think that this is one of the best songs he's put out yet.

My husband left over a month ago for his second tour, this time to Afghanistan. We have two boys ages two and three. Trace Adkins can make me cry, but this song makes me sob, I cant wait to see him again!! Every night I pray for him and his safe return! Hooah!

my husband is deploying soon, and no one really understands how it feels to have to watch the person you love walk away wondering if there going to be okay. everyone who is a military family knows what im talking about. i hate those people who complain about being apart from there boyfriends for a week, they have no idea.

Everyone -- on BOTH sides of the fence -- is to be commended and thanked for all they've done and been through. Yes, especially those in uniform, but the loved ones who keep watch as well. I believe that many of today's overly soft crybabies (those who caterwaul, not those who truly hurt) need to consider both THIS video AND the fact that, sadly, it's not ALWAYS the joyous "safe and sound" reunions as pictured here. I LOVE THIS SONG
This is such a great song. My boyfriend is a Marine and the military really causes you to think about what is important and how you think about things. My life is by no means perfect, but I am so incredibly grateful for all I have. When they come home after deployments civilians complaining about trivial things bothers them, and I try to keep that in mind. For example when it is hot out, I know it is still nothing compared to being in the desert in all of their gear. I am so thankful for them!

My grandpa served in the Vietnam war too, I keep his dog tags with me almost everywhere I go since he died. I don't want to carry on his tradition, he wouldn't have liked it if I had. But he's always with me. Thank you for your service to us.
Being in the military and married to another service member I have been on both sides of homecomings like this a couple of times each, it's very emotional, I was holding back tears every time. Let me tell you when that plane is taxing up and all the families are there waving signs, you will see the biggest burliest men staring out the airplane window wiping away tears.
