Yep, that was this movie all about, shame the netflix one just focused on drama the whole series, and the action, just like others typical action movie.
There's no feeling about the Punisher, just, a killer.
I did enjoy his penchant for psychological warfare. I don't find the punisher that kills vagrants to be... investing. This one had a list of the bad boys (though its at the moment, a personal revenge story. I also liked that he seemed devoid of emotion, but really he is just stuck in a moment, burying everything involved and moving forward physically but that's it.
He did that by making Howard think that his wife and Quentin had an affair - he took out his two major targets before going after Howard and his son
Thomas Jane was a badass Punisher who had a lot of potential. Shame he never got a sequel
The video game kinda counts as a sequel too.

I loved Jon as Punisher, but Thomas takes the cake in terms of appearance and demeanor.

Thomas is a cold, almost detached fury.
Jon is a seething, barely contained rage.
Ive read the punisher 4 20 yrs the best punisher he is the best frank castle right out ou the comic books.

Everything that Punisher went through, this scene made me feel the worst for him. The guy is wearing a leather trench coat in FL... I mean, hasn't he suffered enough by now? Wearing a leather trench coat in a state where 98 degree's and 120% humidity is just wrong...
Well he served in the military and probably had to wear a lot of gear wandering around deserts in foreign lands. I feel that a leather trench coat in Florida is a walk in a park for him.
@@DarkPaladin24 If you ever watch the making of this movie, they had to hook up fans to the coat between takes. Also during this scene, the back of the jacket is actually missing and a mesh backing was used to allow it to breathe in front facing scenes. Yes, the desert is frickin hot, but some of those locations in the middle east lack the high humidity that costal regions have. Having that 100% plus humidity factor while wearing clothing that seals in body temperature is a completely different monster than straight up high dry desert heat. There are days where it feels like you are breathing water while being cooked alive. I even heard veterans call yardwork in Florida a tour in Vietnam. Right after it rains down here, you see steam coming off of everything...You cut the grass and steam comes out. Calling it a walk in the park is just ignorance.
As someone who lives in Minnesota, a place with absurd humidity in summer as well as insanely high temps reaching over 100 in the middle of summer, I feel this pain.
I’m sure Tom Jane couldn’t wait to change into a t shirt and shorts or a pair of jeans after the shoot for that scene. Especially with cars bursting into flames 🔥

I do think Jons Punisher is the defining version mainly because they had an entire tv series to develop Plenty of action and story to the character. But Thomas Jane is definitely the punisher right out the comics and video games. It’s shame he didn’t get a chance to expand! I wish we saw him in more action movies

Jon was mostly the punisher in name only. The show wasn’t a good portrayal of frank castle, which is a shame because Daredevil seemed to understand the character well.

Yeah, shame they transitioned to the new way of doing things. This movie was fantastic. The new MCU shit, everything is a joke every minute of every movie. Could be the most intense, serious/tragic scene and somebody has to be a comedian.

Idk about the punisher from the comics or any other punisher movie bu I could already state that this act of punisher is truly what it should be as an anti hero. Calm, Cold, Man of few words, Intelectual, Strategical, Badass, Chad. And of course dead pool is also a fun anti hero but sometimes he is not that fun to watch.
The way he says "get up" has always stuck with me. The cold emotionless delivery, perfect.

This movie is so good. John travolta is just excellent as the bad guy here. Tom Jane really serves up some pretty bad punishment for the bad guys. Howard Saint wanted a war and Frank castle gave him one. Very good entertaining movie. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

John Travolta is the biggest and best bad ass of Hollywood. With his roles in Face Off, Pelham 123, Pulp Fiction, Broken Arrow. He is just amazing. A perfect villain.

By far one of the best superhero films I have ever watched especially character where you can't help but constantly feel for him and what he's going to do next. Like the theme itself is inspiring. It makes you feel REALITY. It makes you feel for how justice isn't always there and sometimes you gotta take things into your hands. Such an underrated actor and movie as well. Like I honestly can't believe that at the time, this movie got so much undeserved hate. Like Thomas Jane played him perfectly, the emotion, the voice, EVERYTHING. Even the soundtrack itself, is amazing and even as I'm writing this I'm listening too it. 5/5. This has been a movie I've always wanted to watch since childhood since I've always seen clips of it, and loved it and I finally got the chance to watch it, like is it just me or are superhero movies from the 2000s always good and way better than the ones there are now. Like this movie relates to everything there is today, especially the justice system there is today and of course whats happened with pandemic and the war we have today where the justice system and governments simply don't listen too you. Like this just shows how amazing Stan Lee's creativity was to make superhero like these, not only that but the Punisher is the only superhero or anti hero you could say, that doesn't even have powers and still puts up a great fight and takes down everyone with just pure skill, talent, and everything he's got. Like if you look at most Marvel heroes and villains, they mostly have superpowers or something, but him, he was just a average person like us, who served, became elite, and had to take things into his own hands because of how the justice system doesn't always help you, or punish those. You gotta take things into your own hands. There's honestly so much to say about the film and I don't really want to spoil it since its just amazing. Like I'm speechless, and out of words to say because there's just so MUCH to say about it and how to describe it. You really gotta watch it for yourself to understand it, feel it, and everything.

I really can’t figure out who I like more as the Punisher. Thomas Jane or Jon Bernthal. This movie made me love the Punisher. I love both performances.
After seeing Thomas, Jon honestly looks really bad in comparison. Thomas is so distraught, and yet so cold and calculated in his undoing of the Saints. Jon is distraught, but completely unhinged within his own rage. The Punisher is supposed be be methodical, which both actors are, but while also demonstrating a significant emotional detachment with regards to his demeanor. Thomas knocks that out of the park.

I don't care what people say. Thomas Jane was perfect Punisher. He only needs his haircut to be done like Punisher had in the comics and done. Other than that, he was perfect. The voice, the look, the brutality - he is just perfect. Like he was born to play Punisher.

This is like the perfect amount of cheese. A character like Frank is difficult to do without risking parody or corniness; even Cloonan’s run a few years ago lost a ton of steam after Steve Dillion died and stopped illustrating it. Ill have to check this out!
Even the Punisher Max series (which was meant to be a more serious take on the character) had degree of black comedy to it.
It would of been cool to eventually see Thomas Jane and Wesley Snipes meet as the Punisher and Blade

Frank quite smart, showed one gun then draws two.
I always thought this was a much better adaptation of Punisher than the Netflix version. In my head when I'd read Punisher, I'd see him is a cold and unfeeling, totally dead inside. I love Bernthal as an actor and he's amazing in his Daredevil episodes, but when they gave him his own show I think they made Frank a less interesting character
Characters like Punisher work best I think when they’re not the main character. He was perfect in his episodes of Daredevil because you’re viewing him through the eyes of the more adjusted characters like Foggy and Karen, and you get to know him through Matt Murdock.
The Punisher isn’t a character who’s head you want to spend too much time in
Only Frank Castle can take out the bad guys with just a frying pan!
Jet Li is pretty good at it in The Expendables. Sam Gamgee in Lord of the Rings, too.

I love how he's so unconcerned about the two bean counters who tried to draw guns on him two minutes ago that he leaves his shotgun on top of the money cart, then turns his back on them.

They are probably too lazy and scared and shocked to actually try anything more. From the look of them, those guns probably are just for show and probably not even loaded heh
Besides if the “tough guy” wants to rob Howard Saint himself, their boss would probably reward them for giving his description (or just show leniency when punishing them for their incompetence lol) so Saint can deal a worse retaliation than a mere shot in the back lol
That or they figure Saint would be more pissed that the robber’s blood ruin the money they were hired to launder and count if they managed to kill him 🤷♂️
