Great work on this one mate, I finally managed to get through survivor by using most of your early game. I tried a heap of things, rushing hot houses, getting beacon up ASAP, getting multiple scouts etc, all of that never worked. I think the key thing that worked for me was the sawdust meals, keeping everyone housed and keeping up the medical posts, as soon as you start getting an influx of sick and they're not getting treated you start to spiral I ended up letting in all the lords and resolving the conflict only in a day or so, it feels like the first 12 days or so are make or break!
Honestly, an amazing guide and your skills and comprehension of the game are beyond words. I'm doing all the scenarios on Hard difficulty first, before extreme, and your guide served that difficulty amazingly well. Followed the first 16 days meticulously, made a manual save and went on from there. You really deserve more subscribers and greater reach. I still yet have to do all the 'extreme' difficulty scenarios left to do before I'm 100% done and I surely will come back to your guides. Thanks again
It is no longer a game if you just copy someone all the time. It is just a mindless task, like retyping a someone else poem. No difficulty exist if you have solution to all problems in form of video so ypu do not play on hard, you copy on null.

Incredible! I'v made to 20 tries with different starts, BUT not a single with "Sawmill" first research, didn't have enough lumber for scout even to 10 day, always lack of lumber, a lot of illnesses, lack of coal, end of game. I've run out of ideas for this scenario. Thank you for this great video, VERY strong play, will do your way now, .
Honestly I was doing the math and scouts are such a hard choice on this map specifically because you lose like 5 days of labor until they get far enough out to scavenge any real amount of supplies. There is like 60 supplies within a day and everything else is like 5 days away. Those 5 workers would easily have chopped 200 wood (and you could have used the beacon resources) by the time they return any amount of meaningful supplies scouting. Weirdly the benefit of scouting is getting more people (especially engineers) faster despite this scenario's entire premise being "get flooded with people". More hands means more sawmills which means more research with means more more more. One of the hard parts is catching the switch from wood wood wood to steel being a huge need.
I watched about half this video then decided "hey I got it now, I can figure the rest out". Then proceeded to blow up generator trying to keep 10k people heated in -70. I'll follow along more closely next time.
Good question that confirm he used a cheater. There's a cheat to make citizen immortal, then deathless is easier. You can check by yourself, lauching the game with -devel option or trying existing cheaters/trainers

I have no idea how to do this scenario deathless. The first 9 days were perfect for me. I had all of the piles cleared, several places in the frostland discovered, steel works and two sawmills, four medical posts, two workshops, a coal thumper with two gathering posts, and I always get a few random people who get mild frostbite when the temperature drops by two levels. Their limb is amputated, and I put down a care house for them and sign the prosthetics law for the future. And the "amputee's suicide" event always occurs. I don't understand what I'm doing wrong.

did they patched something? your trick with the hunters hut doesnt work. i get 0 food if i try to use this mechanic. all the people need to rest and then work in the hunters hut. another thing is that it isnt possible anymore to feed the people on day 3. you have to do it on day 2 because in the night of day 2, they will eat the raw food. that means you need to build a cookhouse in the night of day 1, to cook the raw food on day 2.
I've been doing the exact same thing as shown in the vid with the hunters and it worked, altough they had a few hours of a "rest time gap" when I switched them to resource but it worked well enough. Altough I've noticed similiar issues in other guides that are usually 1-2 years old, and it's as if some more RNG/alterations were put in effect and even guides won't help.
Yep, now you can no longer do the trick of hunters, for the kitchen, you can build it even on day 2, even if I did not notice differences between build it in the first or the second day. on the second day after 18.00 put a child to work so that they do not steal anything. In the same night you will be able to put the tasty meals of sawdust and make the most supplies in the 3 day. The only way I could finish the game to survive was to put two sawmills from the beginning and use 2 teams of scouts. I’ve practically lived on food found around plus food camp. Repropose the same mechanisms seen in this tutorial is impossible, even for the sick, there is no way, I always reach 4 sick on the first night.
Moving workers to the hunter huts during the night seems to be more of an exploit than strategy in this game. I mean, they are unhappy with longer shift, but are fine working essentially 24/7?
You can't really go 24/7 on the worker rotation. If you move them out of a hunters hut and into a different workplace after they grab food, they don't get to work right away. It says "resting after the hunt" and I think its 4 hours in game. So they do rest but the poor folks only get 4 hours a day.
I assume you are talking about the 24 hour shift not extended shift? Most of the time someone always dies on a 24 hour shift if you use it on a resource or gathering post. I believe you can get away with a 24 hour shift on a workshop without someone dying but it's not 100% of the time. In my experience if you use a 24 hour shift on a workshop in the first day or so the engineers will all live.
First use of 24hr shift does not trigger the death event. It's a scripted event happening on the 2nd use. You can get away using it only on piles without gathering house because on piles the event does not trigger.

I didn't want to loose out on gathering time by building during the day. If they build a building before gathering a resource it can make a big difference in terms of the total resources gathered day one.
@@JWiiseDid you do any deep analysis on that ? I once did it myself for gathering camps. I dont remember the exact time, but iirc i came to the conclusion that any gathering camp completed before 1400 will pay back more than the time invested in building it. (not than the resources invested in building it, but you would otherwise build it in after hours anyway) As for the workshop, it is so hard to imagine 6 hours of research not being worth investing 20 workhours into building the thing during daytime. (if those hours are for example spent on "faster gathering" and you have 35 guys on the job, that research alone pays back those 20 workhours in 4 hours, and thats ignoring that every single research for the entire game is going to be 6 hours earlier) Of course i can imagine in a speed run the math becomes slightly different as when i build anything during the opening game, i micro manage it to make sure that the guys were, on the way to the gathering pile, already at the exact location where they build the building, so no walking time is lost. You cant do that stuff in a speed run. But you are probably 100x more experienced in this game than i am. So i would love to read your analysis on this and learn.
This comment is a noob comment, see below. Survivor Mode: Is equivalent to Extreme difficulty, with added constraints: no pause functionality, progress is only saved upon game exit, no separate saves allowed.

You are wrong on this one, did you try it before you drop a comment saying I cheated? I just repeated an emergency shift on the workshop on the refugee scenario on the first night, no deaths, same result on survivor and easy.
