FR lol, when I ordered my Z you could get a gorgeous Gun metallic finish for free but the ugly cement color was marked up. Middle age people must be piling over this geriatric shade 😂
I like tbh I enjoy the color in mono chrome
It is the hue of primer, and it's fine if you don't like that, but it isn't actually just primer you know. It's a full on multi-coat color and clear just like any typical modern automotive paint job is.

My uncle had a new S class in the early 2000s. Drives like a dream brand new after 5 years became a ticking time bomb, and software crashed if like the car was flooded!? Insurance paid him out, and he went straight to the junkyard, even though the exterior and interior were in excellent condition. I can't imagine the complicity of overengineering in the long run for new models.
@@aymanlockhartableearly 2000’s Mercedes were the exact place where they lost their reliability status. It has however came back to a more realistic state. Early 2000’s Mercedes were awful except for the e class and sl class.

Yes the headline horsepower and torque numbers look insane until you consider the weight. It need this much to haul 3 tons around
What a launch for a heavy weight
For me the S63/65 Coupe (2018-2021) is the best s class experience ever! But this still dominates its category for 100 grand less than a Mulsanne.
Alone the stereo system is worth it lol

it be great if you compared an older (maybe 2016-18) S63 with this new one and compared the interiors and ride quality. I still personally prefer the 2017-2019 S-class - it just looked so elegant on the exterior and had a CRAZY good interior design (with buttons lol).

@EmekaIheanacho-jc5td Agreed, especially in 2024. We are well out of Covid shortages and markups. I am a current Porsche (992 "21") 911 C4S owner. I went shopping for cars, the R8 (used, near new) and new Porsche 991s in 2021. I tried to order one locally, $1,000 deposit, no ADM (Markups) but, told me 2.5-3 year delivery time. I called dealerships all around the country and they either gave me the same 2+ year wait time or ADMs (markups) of $20-$50k on base S and 4S models with 3-6 month deliveries. GTS was $50-$80k markups. Turbo S and GT3s were $80-$120k. Absolutely madness. I had to find a used one with every option I wanted. Finally found it and still (at the time a great deal) I had to pay 10k over MSRP for a certified 911 C4S with 1,600 miles on it. Now even in 2024 orders are taking 12-18 months and or they have ADMs still for cars that can be delivered in 2-6 months. The specialty cars like GT3 RS Dakar and the GT4 RS dealerships are marking them up $100k to double the MSRP. Porsche is ruining their brand because of these continued practices. Other manufacturers like Mercedes ect.... are doing the same with their specialty cars and or newest cars like this S63 locally for $50k over MSRP.
Tell you this I was planning on getting a 992.2 Turbo S however. I am so disappointed with Porsche as a company due to their pricing practices allowed and their terrible dealership experiences I have had including from sales but, specifically the service department and having to deal with Porsche USA customer support advocate team due to issues caused by my local service department. I am done with Porsche until they change. Eventually these manufacturers and dealerships will have to change their current practices because customers are walking away. I know several car buddies who have already left Porsche brand or like myself are planning to.
I wouldn't pay no more than $140-150k for these

Limousine company owner here, we will take order of the less sport version. But I did test drive this at our local dealer yesterday. Was a blast. But we will take two 580e’s instead of one of these. As it makes more business sense

Excellent review guys! Surprised to see quite a few cons (regardless of the insane hp and torque), the gear change issue in first and second would be the most annoying thing, especially at this price point.
Damn, the maintenance, repairs, and running costs must be insane.

Anyone with any financial sense will lease a car like this considering it is under the 6000lb gvw tax right off and will depreciate well over 50% it's original MSRP in the first couple years of ownership. The rich will lease then the broke boys will buy them half off after the lease is up thinking they did something but the car will end up at an auction lot. I see it every day in the DMV.

Had a customer lease a first edition one. 3500 a month and it broke down in 60 miles. It needs a generator or something for one of the batteries and it not even available for 2 months. Talk about bummer for a $200k car.
There was a recall for the S classes. He prob can get that checked out and fixed with no charge
Never understood buying the first model year of an all new car. I always wait a year or two for them to sort out any issues, or I’ll even wait for the refresh depending on how much I like my current car.

I purchased my 2024 Cadillac Escalade V in Black Raven W/O cool box after watching your video on the previous model year. (US resident) Doubt I would be willing to spend $200,000 on a Merc sedan, but I'm sure to some it's an automatic yes. Yet another great video folks.

I don't have 300k to spend, but did I have that, I would for sure buy a sailboat and go circumnavigation instead. Still, nice to see, that AMG do still make exiting cars, even sounding like a good old AMG V8. Even Porsche nowadays sounds like a vacuum cleaner and Audi like an hoarse cow mooing.

I was checking out a beautiful S-Class in a parking lot at Del Amo mall in Torrance, CA... and I called them "peasant blockers" in front of my gf, who laughed audibly for a couple of minutes. That's how much Straight Pipes I watch. I legit forgot that they're referred to as window shades.
I was buying the same car drove it. I was unhappy with the windshield wipers, so that’s why I bought my 1996 Honda Accord instead

I believe the title comes from Jeremy Clarkson reviewing the Bentley Brooklands, saying the engine produces “over 1000 torques”. In newton meters of course, around 740 lb/ft
I'm ok with a little extra road noise since it's the performance model. Gotta give up something for more power and performance.
