Thank you so much, have an 80D just stopped working, no power , bought new batteries, thought it was the battery door, was not , had no idea about the SD Card door malfunction, unreal that is what it was , fixed, after i bought a new 90D for a replacement, got a good backup now , thanks so much, almost went in the garbage, really appreciate it .
I had the same symptoms on my 70D and thanks to your info here, it appears that is exactly the issue. Completely cleaned/blew it out and it seems to be working normal again. Thank you sir, I appreciate it.
My 6D Mark ii has been down for a healthy bit of time while I resisted the outrageous canon repair price, I was so desperate I even reverted to film cameras. And then I find this video, and within 5 minutes the thing is running again. You sir, are a LEGEND
Man wish I could give this more than a like. You just save me so much. I'd been searching for ages. To try and find a solution I did every trick and this was my last shot I was literally organising it to be sent to canon to be repaired. Thank you so much
Dude, your the man! So glad I brought the camera by for you to take a look at it. You saved me some serious dollars! I owe you big time! Thank you amigo. I was sure it was a battery issue. Lol
Thank you very much for posting the video. It sent me in the right direction. 80D problem, power turns on and off. The knob that should connect to the SD card door sensor was blocked by a small amount of plastic debris. (No idea where it came from) I took it out and the camera is working properly again.
Hi! My EOS RP not turn on since yesterday! My sd card broken in the slot, and I tried to take it off. After then, My camera doesn't working! It was totally okay before I take it off.. I thought the reason camera not turn on is related with SD slot and I watched your video! Do you know How I can fix it? :-(
I'm sorry I'm just a average guy that tried to show people something about the sd card door contact. Your card broke in slot I don't know how to help you. I'm sorry 😞
So the door shares the card reader and battery? That's so fustrating. I was lucky to just find this. Google is your friend. I wish I had an answer for you. Good luck. Thanks for the comment.
I’ve tried what you said and my eos 760d is still not turning on. When i was using it, i took the memory card out to get the photos of and when I put it back in the whole camera went out. So I thought it was just that the battery died. I can’t seem to get it to turn on.
So if you crossed both contacts on the sd card reader door that would make the camera think the door is closed when powered on. If that doesn't work it could be anything. Wish I could help more.
I'm sorry if it's not the battery door sensor nor the card reader sensor. Then I don't know. Just know when you short the card reader the screwdriver has to touch across both little contacts and be on the on position. Hope it gets worked out for you.
@@CoffeeTalkandTechJohnRyan Yes! I tried adjusting the battery sensor, but nothing happened. Came across your video and was actually confused how putting pressure on the sd card cover would do anything, but it did! Thank you again 🙏🏼

Had some issues with my Sony last week. No idea what happened, but I tinkered around and I think I fixed it!
Yeah not sure, but this soooo did not work at all 😳😫.. Out of nowhere my 80D just stopped turning on?

Wowww love it congrats 👏 giga
thanks so much for watching.
I bought mine and had it only a couple of months. Found out they had to replace the mother board. They said it was over heating.
Really that stinks! Has it been reliable since?
@@CoffeeTalkandTechJohnRyan yes 100%.

It was something I just stumbled on
Fantastic !👍
