My thing is to guys who hear this; don't do things just to impress girls or people in general. Do things to make you feel fulfilled and happy that you are curious about. Sometimes some girls may not be into that; but if she likes your character; she will wanna know what interests you.
This is why i like smart, talkative women and people like that in general. I appreciate you trying to help broaden our horizons Courtney. My new skill i learned recently was cooking salmon on the grill and new ways to edit my TH-cam videos. Not as challenging but fun 😄

If you want to become Interesting - it’s important to try to be a well-rounded person.
Meaning, become knowledgeable in different subjects - that way, when you’re among people, you can pitching in about whatever is being talked about.
And if you want to take it to the next level - then you need to learn the Art of Storytelling - like Courtney suggested!

I really like Jordan Peterson's 9th rule in 12 Rules for Life: "assume the person you're talking to knows something you don't." This is such a useful outlook to have when engaging in a conversation with someone. Instead of trying to score points by making the interaction contentious, go into it with an open mind and be willing to have your pre-existing positions challenged.

I have found that in general, people LOVE talking about themselves With a passion. Can't tell you how many conversations I've have where I am curious and ask lots of questions, which gives the other person lots of opportunities to talk further about themselves. At the end of those conversations, they are excited about me and about the conversation, not even realizing what just happened. How can they be excited about me, when they did not learn a thing about me during the entire conversation? They are just ecstatic that they got to tell me all about themselves. I do not mind doing this for one or two conversations, because I do want to learn about people, but as the relationship develops, it becomes a turn off, because self centered-ness is revealed in their personalities. And I cannot be around that, long term.

What has worked for me is focusing on my thought process + how I felt during the event. That's essentially what storytelling is. The event + thought process + emotional process. Even more engaging when the story you're telling has a problem or conflict so it becomes like a movie where the protagonist has to defeat the evil villain

I’ve always said, “To be interesting, get interested.” I’m an introvert (INFJ), but I’ve hiked up the back of Half-Dome, piloted a 60ft ship under the Golden Gate Bridge three times, been in a flying helicopter and hot air balloon twice each. I’m an English major, with a focus on 19th century romanticism and ancient world literature, and also love going to the theatre, taking acting classes, and constantly study anything artistic. I enjoy martial arts and playing games of all kinds. One of my favorite moments was rowing a boat out in a bay during a thunderstorm, also the first time I held my niece is still at the top of the life affirming moments. I have never run out of topics at a conversation, and people keep asking me for more stories. So my advice is do things that make you interested and people will take an interest in what you do.

One thing I learned was that you can pick what appears to be a rather boring uninteresting area, but then do some research and then go visit that place. Everywhere has a story and history.
Smelterville Idaho? Why of course! Mining processing history. (I love that name for a town.) ;-)
People are open to hearing about unusual areas you've visited and what you've learned.

With many persons it's more a problem of not being willing to truly understand another point of view. Intolerance and an unwillingness to understand and RESPECT points of view that disagree with their own is a major challenge that many humans face at this time. But this is the way to greater peace and harmony. Understanding and respect helps problems to be solved and creates inner and outer peace.

If you are dating someone you already like them so there really isn't a need to look out for "green flags" people may naturally gravitate to a "red flags" video not necessarily because they are drawn to negativity but because being able to spot red flags is more useful and actually needed. The risk of missing a red flag is severe while missing green flags has little impact because the person tossing up the flags has already shown enough green flags to draw in the attraction already.

p.s My wife has always been a great sewer, crafter etc. It was one of the most attractive things early on for me, that she always had "projects" even as a 20yo student, a real girl "nerd" in fact. And as I had my passions too that was cool because she understood that that took time and energy and we could naturally give each other space to pursue these.
She even made her own wedding dress and continues to make cocktail and evening dresses for herself, and always looks fantastic. Home furnishings also - lots of cross stitch, embroidery etc. Plus it's rubbed off onto our daughters. Our youngest in particular is really into jewelry making for her and her friends.

As long as I can remember, even as a small child of 5 year old, I have always had a burning curiosity about almost everything! Today, my family, friends, exes, former employers, etc., know me as "the guy who has answers." It seems I can always come up with a way to solve problems, fix broken things, find new uses for old things, answer a question about a wide range of topics, etc. I have devoted most of my life, even while in college, to learn something new about different subjects, every day. I read a lot, watch documentaries, attend seminars, and yes, even attempt to do things I have never done before, and succeeded at doing it well. I learn by doing and by failing. I love solving problems for and helping people.
I have participated in at least a couple dozen different kinds of hobbies (some I am still doing) and I never know when I will come across another one that I will want to take up. My hobbies have included sports and fitness activities (baseball, tennis, weight lifting, archery, pistol & rifle marksmanship and bullet reloading), programming, auto mechanics, writing (short stories and non-fiction articles), reading (fiction and non-fiction), artistic activities (drawing, airbrush painting, wood working, wood carving, ballroom and Latin American dancing, both instrumental music and singing), cooking new and different foods, mycology (mushroom hunting, growing and eating) and intellectual games of skill.
I have traveled to multiple major cities in 28 of the 50 states and have made more than 90 airline flights (with some very exciting and scary incidents on some of them).
I always have been and will continue to be open to learning new skills and gaining new knowledge until the day I die. I am teachable and am willing to learn from men, women, those younger than me as well as those older than me. I am always interested in hearing about what others like to do and what they know about it, why they like it, etc.

    Yeah! Another awesome video Courtney!
So I just got back from flying my remote control plane, my mate and I were slope soaring, which is when your plane rides the updraft of wind hitting a slope giving you free lift (you don't need to use the motor much), it's so much fun, and sort of meditative!
The place we go is a seasonal lake in a valley, it's called "Lake George", often we fly from the lakebed, but since it's spring and it's been raining a lot there is heaps of water so we were flying from the top of the hill, perhaps 75m up from the lake surface.
I am hoping to start a TH-cam about my hobby, and then get set up to tour getting amazing videos of beautiful locations from the air! so stay tuned for updates on that.
Love your channel, keep up the good work ;)

I am alway trying to learn something new what I found is (especially last year) is the more you know/learn people don’t want to hear it (some people see that as the “know it all”). They stick to what they know. They see it as you don’t have in common what they want you to have in common.
That being said you weed lit the ones who are set in that mindset and bring like minded ones who also want to grow.

When I was in college I had a job as a salesperson selling major appliances (stove, refrigerators,..). I didn't mind showing off the product, hated selling service contracts, but what I LOVED about the job is all of the interesting people I got to meet. I met people from all walks of life, and everyone had an interesting story to tell!
I've discovered that even the most silent person will open up once you find what they are passionate about....
    ... great video Courtney!

Negativity is weakness and leads to bad things especially feeding yourself too much of it most people already struggle with negative mindsets so feeding yourself positive things can make some feel uncomfortable and out of place but feeding yourself positive energy through hard work and good goals even if they're small ones can be beneficial.

I’m new here, the sum total of all your videos (and others) made me realize why I gave up dating… all I need to do is change me. My problem is if I can’t crank up my feelings for a woman, I don’t have the motivation to pursue her. When I did my thing and made an intense connection on my first meeting a woman, they cut and ran in fear of their feelings. My feelings were deeply hurt by rejection, so I could never take them back even when they were later very forward friendly.

I think all of the keys to being a more interesting person which you covered in this video really go hand in hand with one another. A person who is lazy would never even think about doing things such as getting out of their bubble and seeing a world that they are not familiar with, learning a new skill, being a good storyteller, and so forth. I'm a fairly attractive guy physically but being the interesting person I believe I already am is what will ultimately make me a catch. Your videos are awesome, Ms. Ryan! Many thanks.

The top three ''characters'' in women's fantasies: #1. A Vampire. This explains why movies like Twilight are so popular. #2 A Werewolf. What was Bella's second love interest in Twilight? That dude in ''Beauty and the Beast " sure looks like a werewolf also. #3. A millionaire/billionaire. Think 50 Shades of Gray. My point is or actually my theory is: Women are more attracted to men that have an air of danger, mystery, or darkness. Women never get over their Bad Boy phase.

This is one topic that drives me crazy. The message in the video is spot on, but these days if you aren't entertaining the room then you are "boring". People don't have any respect for people with quiet, more reserved energy who listen before they ramble on about their lives.

While I'm reading less regularly now, one thing I wanted to mention that is I didn't start reading with big advanced books, and I started with manga and comics. I got into the habit of tuning out the world while focusing on the book. From there, I was able to read both fiction and nonfiction books in no time. Start with something small. Consistency and progress are what ultimately matter🙂

You're preaching to my choir with that last point about the attraction of negativity. It's so exhausting hearing about negative things all the time, and by and large it does seem to be the sort of thing that draws the most aggregate attention. Seems like a lot of folks would rather roll in the mud than escape the pen.

Interests and passions related, I think it would be helpful if you approached the subject of dancing in future videos 😅. I urge fellow men to take dance classes as much as I can, but I keep hitting a machismo wall. Yet girls on the dance floor never look at their men the same after dancing with me 😁. It helps alot. It's such a huge discrepancy between a guys energy on the dance floor and off the dance floor, all the confidence and masculin energy goes bye bye for most guys.
