    I have used a lot of Sony Xperia devices and the most common thing is that Sony DOES NOT apply funny filters and effects like the vividy or over-saturated (unnatural) images as in iPhone or Samsung (which most of the majority prefers) whereas Sony images are just natural looking and y'all aren't ready for that conversation.

    • @LukoBala
      @LukoBala 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +31

      ah really? so the sky being completely white is natural color, right? things being washed out grey oversatured is just the superior natural color, correct? aren't you so special and better than us for liking that?!

    • @Apticx
      @Apticx 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +27

      @@LukoBala in some way i have to agree with him. if shot manually and exposed and metered like you would on a alpha camera then the sony outperforms pretty much everything else. Sadly this was not shown in the video. Make sure to check some more videos from photo channels like ollenilsson and not tech channels. this isnt about specs
      but obviously for normal point and shoot the sony cant compare to a iphone or samsung flagship
      in the end its just convenience vs workflow

    • @LukoBala
      @LukoBala 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +6

      @@Apticx thank you for the reply. I can't think why anyone would want a phone that gives you 9 times more work to get the same results as a point and shoot photo with a samsung or iphone. If you are that into photography you'd obviously do that work on a camera not a phone. That being said, I think sony did their best and that their camera is OK - but the price should be lower maybe 999 euros, not 1400. I am not criticizing sony. But to read comments that those washed out, overexposed photos are somewhat more natural than on SAmsung or iPhone and somehow better!?? That's a flat out lie.

    • @Apticx
      @Apticx 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +27

      @@LukoBala The washed out and overexposed pics are the automatic mode shots. Make sure to give it a try on full manual, edit them in lightroom and you will be stunned at whats possible. I am not discrediting the incredible work samsung and apple has put into their algorithms for ease of use but it just looks boring to me. Everyone shoots the same picture on those phones. Only after you go in and expose manually, do the whitebalance to your liking, experiment with the bracketing etc... it truly unlocks its potential and unlike on the sony, many of those features are not accessible.
      Is it for everyone? Absolutely not. Its hard to do and requires skills not everyone has.
      Is it worth it to do the extra mile for a photographer? In my opinion yes. The best mobile photos i have seen so far are from this phone. Not an iphone or a samsung. This xperia.
      In the end everything is a tool to create. For some people its not about ease of use but best possible result and i think its a strong contender if paired with lightroom mobile

    i got both xperia 1vi and s24 ultra, and i can honestly say most youtubers are just underrating xperia always, and the results i got from my devices i can say xperia just blows s24u out of water in terms of color aCCURACY AND overall picture quality, there is also no freezing in my phone's camera app, stablization is a bit better plus wider dynamic range on s24u but overall the quality of video and photos you get from xperia is just on another level, samsung produces noisy photos in most casses while over sharpening photos. so i completely understand now you youtubers truly under rate xperia intentionally, i mean who can know better than me who is using both phones simultaneously from last 2 weeks, and the fact sony will get new updates as its new while samsung has gotten many updates yet still my xperia 1vi is out performing s24u in camera department, and also the fact xperia battery life is just wowwww. my advice to all people who watch these videos is just ignore these youtubers go experience buy the xperia 1vi yourself and you will be amazed by its results.

      Your comment helps me a bit, as I'm currently unsure between the two devices, which will cost me the same price. And since the S24 Ultra has more attractive specifications on paper, it sometimes seems like a better option, especially due to the lower quality of the telephoto on the Sony. And as for the device itself, aside from the cameras, do you feel the same premium quality in the Xperia compared to the s24u?

    I miss the SD card slot A LOT from when i upgraded to the S23 Ultra from an S9.
    Im not gonna fill up the 256 gigs of storage like, tomorrow, but i already filled it up halfway through in just 4 months of owning the phone.
    Having to even occasionally move several thousand photos from my phone to my PC is annoying.
    Not having a headphone jack has officially become a non-issue for me, although id still like to have one for those occasions where my earbuds are out of charge.
    Anyway, it seems that most of the issues Sony is having are software related, apart from the surprisingly underwhelming results from the telephoto lens.
    Ive seen better results in different videos but that might just be a good case of cherry-picked images, with a lot of misses before that.
    Hoping Sony addresses the software issues though. The phone costs top tier money and if i were an owner of such an expensive phone, id expect at least decent software improvement over time.

    Just got my Xperia 1 VI like an hour ago and already so happy lmao. Really great phone when it comes to base settings, ease of access for customization, can't wait to test the camera on my next hiking trip or once I get the underwater case.
    EDIT: Also, I'm not sure about fiddling with the camera settings yet (obviously). But it seems like a lot of the differences you pointed out are just effects that S24 already has and the Xperia does not. Perhaps with some adjustments to the camera app (which I believe Sony said is required? not 100% sure) you will get what you are looking for. After all, a photographer doesn't just go around snapping pics with the same settings everywhere. You have to adjust everything yourself. And the goal of the Xperia's camera was to recreate the capabilities of a professional camera for a smartphone. Could be copium, I'll find out over time.

    I don't know why many photographer TH-camrs don't capture raw photos on (stock pro mode's not expert raw) S24 Ultra, because the S24 Ultra is very capable of shooting exceptional raw images. I've captured raw photos and compared them with JPEGs, and there's a huge difference. Only with raw images can the phone use its camera's full potential.
    And if anyone uses RAW, they often shoot with Expert RAW, and that app does produce processed RAW images that lack detail and don't look that good. The stock camera's RAWs are much better. I've tested it.

My next phone will not be an Apple or Samsung , I have a S 20 Ultra, no, the phone that comes with a 3.5mm ear phone jack and the MicroSd memory slot, gets my custom!

    It's a tricky situation. If you want what Sony has that other phones don't then you've got to swallow the compromise, and that's the zoom. If you only shoot 24 & 48mm, fine, if you don't then the Galaxy is a good camera option. As good as a Vivo? No, but the ecosystem is so much wider and support is deeper - what shop doesn't sell a Galaxy? - so it's horses for courses, but there's more to all phones than just their cameras and they should be judged on a full breadth of features.

    We have these two smartphones, Xperia 1VI and S24U. The S24U is only exceptional in its zoom, the rest is like 90% of smartphones on the market, oh yes there is the stylus but rarely used, we quickly forget it. Unlike the Xperia which stands out from all other smartphones with the SD slot, the jack, dynamic vibration, very effective macro, a real optical zoom, stock Android...etc. I do not judge the photo, because tastes and colors are to each, for example there are some who like HDR others not.

They created this for pros, like a sidekick which can do many things but not all of it. The fact that they have stuffed everything into a compact format is quite impressive. Why are nearly all Xperia camera reviews and comparisons so bad? It is a MANUAL camera. If you just use the basic mode or portrait mode and if you are not using RAW, you don't have to wonder about what you get. It is not a point and shoot camera. And the phone is only for people who understand that. So It is not the best option for 99% of the people. It is for manual control, shooting in RAW and edit in post. again, MANUAL CAMERA
    And if you have a SD card with a high video class, you also can save videos to the sd card.
    The issues you had with the freezing app must be a software problem of the app itself. the Xperia 1V has 3 apps and they work just fine. Sony is still developing this all in one camera app. I don't like it, that's why I stick with my Xperia 1V for now. But I extracted the apps so I can install them on future Sony phones. The sensor isn't great so needed a lot of light to make photos/videos that compete with iPhone/Xiaomi. The telephoto lens was not sharp and lost a lot of detail at max optical zoom. It also overheated like a mf which was super disappointing using it outdoors for more than a few mins...
