  • Along with a new Clown Pepe, the Clown World meme has taken on quite a bit of steam in the past few weeks. In this video I explain the meaning of Carnival, or the Circus, inversion festivals and of course the meaning of clowns.

There wouldn't be any limits to his conversation, because he's in it to explore the logic and reasoning as to why it's flawed, but this clearly isn't the case when it comes to the things that he refuses to discuss. From your brother's book " ... Sabbaths and Jubilees may be considered ancient forms of vaccines that sealed off powers of pointless change, exile, flooding, and death through contact with manageable versions ..." - The Language Of Creation page 194. We need to know the boundaries of space and time, tease the boundary, become aware, then go back and hopefully flourish.
In some cases, like the USA, when the king is the clown (inversion), then those who care and give a damn about culture and politics, sober up, start paying attention, and not take things for granted. We get complacent then "Bam" , we get our socks knocked off, we question, reevaluate, become grateful for stable space, and we go back to the drawing board. Great video Jonathan.

When you talked about Sinterklaas and his oranges hidden in shoes, I got goosebumps, because you explained something that was very dear to my childhood as a Belgian :)
Now you make me ponder again over the "Donkey procession" during (ezelstoet in dutch) which the small town next to my village has somewhere during march, the carnival season here. In the Ezelstoet, around fifty carnival wagons are processed (like any other carnival in Belgium), but in the middle there is a procession of (around five) donkeys. Children can ride these for a while if they want to.
As with any other carnival here, the people who organise it vote who becomes prince and princess carnival that year. They are the stars of the procession
The official explanation is that the farmers used to bring their fresh products into the markets and this carnival honours them. But symbolism happens :)

Let us never forget that everything in Orthodox is meant for only one thing: for us to reunite with Christ in full. Please don't set anything as more important than Christ whether that be history, the liturgy, etc. We are here to try to grow closer to Christ and Orthodoxy is the greatest tool to do that.
People should convert to Orthodoxy because they want Christ. Any other reason is wrong. Everything in Orthodoxy is amazing and beauty but it shouldn't be our focus. Everything has to tie back to Christ and how to grow closer to him.

As a traditional Catholic, I 100% agree. Even my church which used to be a hierarchy under Christ has been hijacked by marxists in the past 70 years. Get back to Christ, go to confession, receive the Eucharist, and become a vehicle for good which will not only bring yourself to Christ, but deliver others to Him as well.
Why am I still a Traditional Catholic and not a member of the Orthodoxy? I really like Thomas Aquinas and Aristotle and some of the hierarchies of the Catholic Church which can hopefully turn around in my lifetime. But I 100% understand people and encourage people to explore Orthodoxy as a way to get to Christ.

The justification for inversion festivals (let out a little bit of chaos in order to prevent overwhelming chaos in society) sounds like the foundation of the justification for The Purge. If anyone is not familiar with the movie and TV series, purge night (a night where all crime is legal, including murder) is justified with the notion that if people purge their anger on one predetermined night then they will be better people for the rest of the year.
Side note: I would love to hear Jonathan analyze The Purge series.

I would say, who knew that clowns could teach you so much, but that seems to be part of their purpose-- to teach you the things you refuse to know if you're too caught up in yourself, the structure, the hierarchy of order. It's almost like they are a pressure valve of society. Probably also indicative of our society that there is so much animosity and moral pearl-clutching toward jokes, comedians, etc. It comes out one way or the other, and if the social order is warped and in need of fixing, the clowns are what are needed to set things right again. Long live the clowns!

    • @guilhermemeier3015

I do believe Willy Wonka is a clown/trickster archetype character. All he does is point out the flaws in each of the children's character. The kid who is humble and does not take himself to seriously, is the one who is able to pass his "test".
But I'm not sure if the factory would be the carnaval.
The factory seems to be more of a trial, and an illusion to the spiritual/astral world… the first thing they do is to cross a river on a boat, just as in Greco/roman mythology way to Tartaros or as in many biblical stories, when the characters have to cross a river in order to start their journey.

Some weird synchronicity: Jordan Peterson, who can be interpreted as one of the "jester" in the "postmodern court" of our times, exposing its absurdities and flaws, had to adopt a carnivore diet the moment he assumed that role. It's like all this Intellectual Dark Web stuff is the "carnaval" (the feast of meat, a Jonathan said) before the great "postmodern Lent". I wonder how that "Lent" will look like, but I'm afraid it won't be light, but darkness.

And, at least I, my friends, am just a jester, a mere joke teller, for people only laugh or frown upon the things I say. For the last thing it wants to be, is wrong, as do I.

There is also a Carnival King. At first people bow down to him, praise him to the skies, sing him songs, confess their love for him, ask for a baby from him, praise him as a great new leader out to change the world and make everyone happy. Only to dump him from his throne into pig crap, kick him, and make fun of him. Only to elect the next Carnival King.
Here in the U.S. there is an endless procession of Carnival Kings. Michael Jackson, Brittany Spears, Donald Rumsfeld, Barack Obama are just a few examples. Rock stars, pop stars, movie stars, politicians, etc. etc. -- just about anyone famous is to be later torn down and pounded on without mercy. Whether they were good or bad in their role, talented or talentless, matters little.
