    . It took a lot to blow up this old Ford engine, but I finally got the job done. I was amazed at how long it ran full of sand and water. Then I crushed some cars and loaded a semi trailer. Hope you enjoy!

    Mount your camera on a hardhat. I'm glad you part out the older cars to those of us who collect and restore them. That support you built to hold the cars while you push them into a trailer is a fine idea.

    Evening Silas, you do look better clean shaven....it's amazing the trucking company made it that far with a bent trailer!! Unbelievable that ole Ford 6 cylinder could take 4 handfuls of sand plus the water!!!

  • @KiwiStag74
    @KiwiStag74 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    What's real surprising is the way some of those car tyres still hold their air when the cars get crushed. Keep waiting for the BANG! but no...they squash down a wee bit and then come up again.
    That loading technique for the big orange trailer was brilliant! Now, there's an excellent example of a practical thinker - well done, mate! There isnt many of us left. A nice and simple solution for what would otherwise be a frustrating task. I was surprised to see an exotic like the Jaguar XK8 being loaded up into the trailer though - just shows us that everything has its use-by date, eh?
    ...and any time you want to kill a Ford engine again, I'll sit and watch. Seen this video twice already today! Almost a shame to see her die in the end though - she fought a good fight. I didn't think it would last long with the sand in the engine either - sand would kill the bearings and cause all sorts of havoc in the cylinders and valves and clog up the oil galleries, but that beast just kept firing and doing what it could with all its legs shot off! No coolant, oil and fuel systems clogged with sand and she still took a lot longer than the video showed to knock her way into silence. Way longer than I would ever have given it credit for.
    This video had everything, Silas! Crushing, practical sense, lateral thinking, big machinery moving things and the bonus of a bit of fun trying to kill an engine. Can't think of much more you could put in there, mate.......well, ok, not much more that TH-cam would allow you to post up anyways! Many thanks for the time and effort to bring this to us.
    Ever thought about draining oil and coolant from a couple of cars about to be crushed, sticking a brick on the accelerator and starting them, then seeing which one lasts the longest? Maybe a Ford / GM (or similar) showdown! Just a thought.... It would be quite noisy for about 10 minutes and there may be a slight mess to clean up after.....but if the engines are going to the crusher anyway, what matter if they arrive there in bits? Haha! There's probably some EPA reg or other that prevents you for doing it anyway, but no denying it would be fun!
    All the best

    no problem with the audio here on my end. About 2007, I bought an E350 6cyl. for 200 doll. Didnt run, it was just the fuel relay, changed it myself, and made out pretty good recycling tires, and scrap metal. Then I sold it for 8 grand. My point is vans are not cheap in Maryland, I just happened to get lucky. You should consider selling any vans running like that one was. You need someone who doesnt have a job, to get on the internet, and sell all those items, u pay them as they sell items, or cars. Keep the vids coming good job
