- Do you have a pet? Because that's exactly what we're gonna talk about. So, Dennis was an 11-year-old kid and pretty typical for his age. Liked to get a bit too carried away, didn’t quite understand the consequences of his actions. One day he got a puppy. And this is where it started.

SUMMARY:
- My best friend’s name was Mikey, and one summer day, he came over to my house and said that his parents had agreed to get him a dog!
- Well, then Mikey got his puppy a few days later and invited me over to meet the little guy. My heart was stolen, and I wanted one for myself too!
- I talked my mother into getting me a puppy. So, not long after that, we found a tiny Yorkie, and I called her Neeka. We’d already gotten her lots of toys, a bed, and everything she’d need once we brought her home.
- During the next couple months, I spent all my time with Neeka. She seemed like the best puppy in the world.
- But much to my dismay, it wasn't all about fun playtime. I tried to keep my word about training Neeka, but it was the hardest thing I'd ever done in my whole life!
- I remember taking Neeka for a walk to the park near our house. While she was sniffing around and doing her business, I ran into my classmate Jake. He was on a brand-new shiny bicycle.
- With just a few seconds of riding around, I was in love. Just like that day I met Mikey’s new pup, this bike became my new life goal.
- Everything played out according to my plan: I got the very bicycle I'd been dreaming about: big, fast, and with all the latest gizmos and upgrades.
- To tell you the truth, I really was spending much more time with my bike than with my pooch.
- I got carried away arguing with my friends about the benefits of the latest bicycle model when it started raining. They all headed home, and I started calling to Neeka… But she was nowhere to be seen.
- That night, I didn't get much sleep. I just lay there in my bed staring up at the ceiling with tears rolling down the sides of my head, soaking my pillow through.
- I realized what responsibility meant and had to admit that I’d failed my first super important life lesson…
- When morning came, there was a knock at our front door. In a minute, my mom called out my name. When I came rushing, the first thing I saw was a woman I didn't recognize with... a dirty, shaking, but alive Neeka in her arms!
- I now know that getting a dog isn’t just about learning responsibility. You’re also getting a friend who will love you unconditionally and deserves only the best!

My first pet was a bunny. And I still have him now.
The lesson he taught me was kind of funny.
But because he was a rabbit. He had to eat veggies all the time. So instead of going out and getting pizza or candy at the store. I spent most of my time getting different things he could eat. And ended up eating healthier myself given I payed for him myself with allowance at first. So I couldn't buy sweets afterwards.
Here we are a few years later. I work at a dog shelter with my aunt. My bunny is happier than ever.

My dog literally saved my life, i was on the brink of suicide after i lost my money and my business a couple of years ago and then came Chucky, a hyperactif ball of fur, a Siberian Husky...since then, everything changed and i now see life and things differently and in a more positive way. I learned to cherish what i have, a roof above my head, good food, friends and family...today, i cannot imagine my life without a dog.

this boy is lucky to have a good neighbor.. mine is worse, my neighbor poisoned my 2 dogs.. its heartbreaking to see them struggling while dying, i will never forget what happened that day, it was my birthday.. we confronted that devil of a neighbor of ours, i was so mad at him but i cant get myself to hurt him because he was an old man.. I hope one day karma gets to him..

To be honest the responsibilities of a dog are so fun to me
This story made me cry.Believe it or not I wanted a yorkie so bad..my dad didn’t like how small she/he was. I fell in love the first time I saw her and him.And started crying when I had to leave thinking I would never see them again.I’m getting a Samoyed now.But I realized they were ripping us off by 4,000-6,000$. And it still didn’t change my mind.

That was a nice video! When I was growing up our family always had a dog. It was a family dog so we all shared in the responsibility of taking care of the dog.
This is so emotional
I used to have a dog, Cherry. She was a mixed breed dog. I had her when I was about four. She was my best friend, and I would always sneak out the house into our garage to play with her. But soon, I started to ignore her, thinking I was too busy. Then she got sick. I asked my father to take her to the vet for more than five times, but then it was too late. The lesson she taught me? That we should appreciate and enjoy the friends we have. Currently I am a cat person, but deep down, Cherry will always be my favorite pet.

My pup Axl died because of my neglect. I didn't know better at the time and I really didn't take care of him the way he deserved. I loved him with all my heart, but I failed him and when I tried to fix it it was too late. He got sick and died. I could have prevented it. It has been years and I still think of him every single day and beg he forgives me wherever he is now... I'm so sorry... I don't deserve any more pets.

Mine was a puppy too. I was 12 years old at the time. I taught him all kinds of tricks. He moved with me when I got my own place. I took him with me when I visit my mom. Even in the winter time. One Christmas I was getting ready to go to my mom's for Christmas and couldn't find my benji. I looked everywhere for him. Time was getting late. Went to my mom's and I was sad. Had Christmas anyway. Got home and still no benji. Even put pictures of him everywhere. No luck. I still don't know what happened to him. Him and I spent many years together. We loved each other. 😍 I know he must have found another place to live.
My first pet is Oreo.He is a Yorkie same as Neeka and he is so cute,he is 2 years old and I still live with him.He is a big trouble maker.

I had a similar story, m y puppy also disappeared and was later found. However, instead of being stuck somewhere, I found her in the shed plotting to rule the world.

I lost my baby girl not even two weeks ago, she was my life, had her with me for 12 long years, best pet I've ever had.
