  • Hello friends, the walk cycles from Mixamo are very short. With this tutorial you will be able to extend them indefinitely in both Blender and 3ds Max.
    Blender portion starts first, 3dsmax is next starting at 04:05
    It can be applied to characters from Mixamo and your own custom characters.
    ATTENTION: There is a new version of the video, updated for Blender 4.0, that can be found here: • Extend animation and a...

    Yeah boy! Now that's what I'm talking about! straight to the point with no double talk. Why can't those other "so called" tutorial teachers do what Animaza just did? For 3 years I've wanted to make my animations walk around a city block, but everyone on youtube made me sweat and cry and I still didn't get it, so I just gave up and studied something else in blender.
    Animaza, Animaza, he's out man, If he can't teach us...nobody can! YOU ROCK SIR! thank you for not being a "jerk" like those other fakers who dangle carrots on a string in front of us begginers who want us to learn just enough, but not too much, just so we can keep crawling back to them every week asking..."please sir, may I have some more?"
    And then they have the gall to stand up there and say to us..." don't forget to SMASH that like button, and SUBSCRIBE so I can continue to bring you more content just like this." Well I say to them (SMASH THIS! SUBSCRIBE TO THIS) What they offer is no good to beginners, it's only frustrating! (and they know it, they're freaking con artists)
    Does it really make people feel superior to keep others feeling inferior...then they have moral issues and are less than human. That's what's wrong with our society today. The haves against the have not's. Spoiled brats!
    Thank you Animaza Studios for being among the best educators out there, blessings to you and your loved ones. ( and I will be sure to direct as many people to your channel as I can, every week...you can take that to the bank ! )

      This applies to both 3ds Max and Blender. First import the character from mixamo. Clone it to the amount you need in the group. Then move all the keyframes two or three frames forward or backward and run the process. Do the same to the others, making sure all the keyframes are moved a few frames before or after the original starting point then run the process.

      Thank you for your comment. You wrote " person stop go to his beginning pose then start walking again ". What I believe is happening is that you are missing a step. It is very important to select the hip animation, which is a long vertical line in the curve editor, and make sure it is set to linear extrapolation in blender or linear in 3ds max. If you need something more complex in 3ds max, you can go to a tutorial I made explaining how to mix mixamo animations, found in this link: "th-cam.com/video/AVkb3wPCdz0/w-d-xo.html"

      Hello. In Blender It all comes down to the z location controlling the hips. Make sure it is selected, and only it, and click linear extrapolation and unclick the wrench.

      I figured out that if the animation is a continuous movement like walking or running it works, but if it's something like stop walking, then it doesn't work, let me know if I'm correct, thanks for the response by the way sir@@AnimazaStudios

    • @AnimazaStudios
      @AnimazaStudios  ปีที่แล้ว

      Make sure in the graph editor all the proper curves are selected. If you miss one it can effect the whole animation. Also try extending the timeline before you start the process. Often the walk cycle ends when the timeline ends.

      @@AnimazaStudios is there a way to STOP the cycle from looping forever, i only need to extend the aninamtion for a few seconds

    • @AnimazaStudios
      @AnimazaStudios  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@CorrosiveWeBecame There are several ways. You can export the character as an FBX after you applied the process (it loops only until the end of the timeline). Then re-import and delete the key frames you don't need. Another way, which is more complicated, is duplicate the character, then copy and paste the keyframes from one into the other in the curve editor, then manually extend the keyframes in the timeline. You have to make sure the z axis line that controls the forward movement is manually extended so that the character dos not snap back to the origin point. Good luck.

    • @AnimazaStudios

      Make sure all the curves are selected by zooming all the way out in the graph editor. If one of the curves isn't selected, it might lead to glitches.

      I'm assuming you are having trouble with Blender. Try resetting to factory settings. If the import of the character is fine but after you run the tutorial the character is being shot into space, make sure that the Z location line is completely highlighted and hit Shift-E. You have to zoom out a lot to see the complete line to make sure it is completely highlighted. If even one small spot isn't highlighted it could throw it off.

      Unfortunately, this type of process is meant for the character to walk forever. What I suggest is to rig the character with CAT rig in Max and use the procedural tools in CAT to create and stop a walk cycle. Same in Blender.
