Ive been working in Blender for years and I swear animation and all its myriad of functions are a complete mystery to me. Thanks for helping me get into it a little bit.
Hey there! There are entire areas of Blender that I can not wrap my head around (like Geometry Nodes). We all help each other with what we can. Really happy you commented and that you found it useful. Thank you and take care!
I have watched so many Tutes on this, and yours is the only one that made sense. Thank you so much for your articulate and informative explanation. You're a bloody Legend mate.
Haha! I don’t know about “legend”. Really glad it helped and I made it because I did that exact same thing and had trouble figuring it out myself. Thank you for the kind words and take care!
100% the best animation tutorial for mixamo I have found thus far. I will say you cover Mixamo itself a little more than necessary, but you cover the NLA editor very well. Now I just need to figure out how to create my own animations in a similar way.
This video about Maximo is pure bliss. I downloaded a template this morning... without knowing a quarter of what you explain to us in a short time. So I'm going to look at this platform with a different look. Again(this is not the first) THANK YOU!!
Well I am sorry you didn’t find it sooner, but glad you eventually did. That’s exactly how I was hoping it would help people. Thank you for watching and for the kind words!
OMG This tutorial made me see the light! Other tutorials were confusing - I could never get my character animations to seamlessly blend, but this tutorial made it so easy!!! Thanks!
Thank you very much for this really well made tutorial! So, to get things simple, you could just collect all useful animations from there, download them all, then import them alltogether and "batch" "push" rename them. Blender should or could bring such "standard animations" within blender. They are helping very much.
Thanks for this very useful tutorial! I fully agree with the compliments already given: Clear & concise tutorial! Added to that you have a voice that is very easy to listen to, good sound settings (almost no noise) and clear intro and timestamps!
@@Brandon-3D I really like those videos where there's like a rig of basically a human that's dancing, and it's interacting with a particle simulation. I've wanted to do one of those for like a super long time, but I was never able to figure out how to find the motion information of a dancing animation with a rig to go along with it. and I know that those animators weren't creating those motion captions themselves. so I'm guessing they probably used the process described in this video. which is where I think it's quintessential

Thanks for demystifying this for me. I'm a longtime Lightwave user (30+ years) learning Blender. This is just like a feature in LW called Motion Mixer. Thanks.

Thank you so much for sharing! I love this tutorial, very straight forward. I had a little problem where the Mixamo plugin didn't work. For anyone else having this issue, there's a problem with some characters in mixamo that when you are importing it to blender, the bones are not properly aligned. To fix this, just choose another character in blender and download the animation again. For me, the default bot had some problems, so I just went with the character called Cypher. I suscribed btw, ily.
Thanks for this! I am having an issue with the baking together though, it’s not a deal breaker at all though. For real, this helped me so much. Opens a whole new door for my work.

Yes it is. I’d have to play around with it to be sure but I think if you upload the rigged model to Mixamo and it’ll accept it and then you add the animation. You could also do this without the rig and it’ll give you one that works with all their animations. I’m not 100% sure. I don’t know (but also again am not sure) if you can apply an animation to the rig without uploading it to Mixamo first. Mixamo does not store your characters to steal them or anything like that (at least they say they don’t).
Hey Brandon! Really amazing tutorial! there's only one problem and I'm not sure if it's on your end or due to newer blender updates or something, but I can't get baking to work.
