  • Jojo and Alex see if they can get their 1962 big block Chrysler fired up for the first time in who knows how long. This car oozes space race American optimism, but will it do the the thing and run for us? Tune in to find out!!!

That kid is funny he is scared of everything man when I was a kid my old man would bring me to his buddy's junk yard on the weekends and I would love watching engines being fired up with no manifolds and flames spitting out of the heads and it being loud it was what made me fall in love with working on old cars. I'm a big Mopar guy owned many and have a few. I had a 63 Newport with a 413 it had the square steering wheel a friend has a 300 J with the dual quad long ram 413 that thing is a beast with loads of torque

He’s a scardy cat on some things, but we’re working on him…he’s a good boy!!!

It was smoky when it was fired up because there was still oil on the tops of the pistons from when it was added.

I do too. Years ago , I had a 61 Newport wagon. Those were the days when Chrysler really knew how to build cars.

An old timers trick is to remove the spark plug and stuff the cylinder with rope (like cotton clothesline) just so the valve won’t drop all the way in on you… if you’re still working on that…

I have seen some engines that sat for long periods have sludge in the bottom of the pan and it is hard for the pickup to suck oil in it's got to be drained or heated up to loosen up for the pickup to get suction

Parking brake is your park, have owned a few of these, brake generally does not hold in reverse,
    Car may roll backwards

My first car was 59 Dodge, and 2nd and 3rd were Sport Fury’s w/ 361 c.i. I thought they were small blocks.

Chrysler had some crazy engine options way back then…Chryslers in 62 never came with a small block…rule of thumb is, if the distributor is in the front…it’s a big block
