    Hey Stephen. Some nice images in there mate - love the first one, but also the way you interpret the lines on the paths as part of the narrative. Possible Light leakage through the eye pice when the mirror is up from the cars behind you, which would explain why the light leaks are not consistent possibly? Us digital shooters forget just how goddam hard it is to to meter for things like the tower as it real easy for a lit cylinder shape to clip into the whites, especially with the lesser DR of E6 composite, cross process capable film, and working within the strict DR tolerances you have. The blooming sky tower is particularly hard to meter on account of the different lux levels from high to low... and then the sot lights. notwithstanding it takes about an hour for the lights to warm up rpoperly so keep getting brighter. Good job well done though mate. Speak soon! Regards, Ewan

      Hi Ewan. The Mamiya 7 is a rangefinder camera, not an SLR. There is no mirror, and the viewfinder is linked to focussing but is otherwise completely separate from the film chamber. My guess is that there has been some mishandling of the roll, such as the backing paper being loosened in the wrong environment.

      @@squiffig - Thanks. Potentially indeed!

      Thanks for the feedback Ewan, much appreciated. I’ve shot many rolls before and after that roll with no issues. I’m not convinced it’s the camera. The only thing that I did differently is use a different lab.

    Great video on Cinestill 800T night urban scenes. Found it better than any other I came across on TH-cam. Thanks.

    One of the best examples of Cinestill 800T long exposure. Im going to attempt a long exposure in campfire, will see how it turns out :). Great work !

    Those shots are amazing. Another home run photo vlog! I drove around taking night shots with the 800T in 35mm and i'm hoping experimentations work out well. Can't wait to try longer exposures of cityscapes in medium format as well!

    I give you a ton of credit to get the shots you do with film. I could never go back. Spectacular images. That foot bridge in your first image looks really cool. Do they have a name for it? Taking kids there in a few weeks and they would love to go on it at night all lit up

    Extremely interesting results with the 800T. I've got a roll of 50D loaded up in my Bronica now. It's my first stock from Cinestill and I'm hoping for the best. Thanks for the video!

    Great photos in this video, really. Maybe my absolute favourite is the image at 7:00, the building with those lights and the road down makes a great combination. The pano at the end is also very nice.
    Beautiful channel, I've just discovered it. Subscribed.

    I have a 7ii and if you're not careful in loading the roll the finished roll can be loose hence the light leak. The Mamiya tension on the roll from unexposed to exposed is not the best. I've never had that issue with my previous Rolleiflex TLR or Agfa folder cameras. With my 7ii, it's something I've come to be super careful about.

    • @StephenMilner
      @StephenMilner  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks you. I metered for the the bright lights on the buildings and then the shadows on the buildings and averaged them out.

      Hi, I am originally from a place called Dobcross in Saddleworth. Technically it is Lancashire but some locals are die hard Yorkshire fans.
