Thanks, man! Running crown for the first time flat and waaaay easier than beveled. Best video out of the first 5 I watched. very informative and detailed.
Well first off you go girl!!! I hope if I make it to 68 I’m still able to climb ladders and install crown but I’m afraid that won’t be the case but I am a grandfather of one so maybe I can keep up with you on that lol anywho thanks for watching and I’m glad I could help you out
🎉This is the BEST video for DIY beginners doing their own crown molding!!! I’ve watched so many I can’t even count, and this one takes the cake! I’m going to watch it as I do it until I get used to making the cuts! I do have a question- the wall isn’t exactly 90°, how would you adjust the angle? When you adjust the bottom angle slightly or the tilt angle?
Yay glad this video helped you as far as as far as obtuse or acute angles if they are inside corners it is sometimes best to cope them with that being said I’m not the coping type. So the bottom angle is called a miter with the top or back angle being your bevel so if I have say a 94 degree angle I would change my miter to a 29.8 degree angle and my bevel 32.5 degree I don’t have that knowledge in my head I have a cheat sheet form Dewalt and it gives you all the angles you need for out of square walls this is the web address below hope this helps thanks for watching www.dewalt.ca/why-dewalt/featured-articles/how-to-cut-crown-molding
Thanks Pete. So my shop is in what some would call and ag building I don’t know what they do in the UK but here in the US a lot of people us the metal ag trusses on poles then close it in it’s pretty common. Actually I don’t know if you have them over there but a lot of folks here are building what they call barndominiums and it’s essentially my shop but they build the house in half and have the rest for a garage so I guess the short answer is yes it is in an ag building lol
I’ll post a short one day of the whole thing so you can have a look just don’t judge me on how messy it is right now it gets put on the back burner pretty regular but the BYOS series is my office in the shop so I’m trying to get it done I’ll make sure I do a video of when I do get completely done because I’m building rooms in it for each hobby I do (leather, glass blowing, stained glass, blacksmithing) also I’m going to build an assembly room/ TH-cam room for making videos just something that is a little more professional looking. I don’t know if you can tell but my shop is a conversation I can have regularly you know dreams and such
@@keepmakindust It is a huge advantage having a large building to be able to work out of the elements. We are having a really bad spring as far as the weather is concerned. Its rained and rained and rained some more. We've only had five dry days since Christmas, I'm not saying it has rained non-stop some days it's just been showers and overcast. Even the dry days are overcast. Still on the bright side it can only get better.
@@Pete.Ty1 dang Pete that sounds bad we had a Christmas a couple of years back that was that way it rained 95 out of 100 days so I know the feeling. Yea it’s awesome having my shop it was a dream for 10 years then we set the posts waited six months and then poured the concrete in 22 and worked on it when we had the money we just finished the walls about two months ago now I’m saving for the overhead doors and those guys are not cheap. You know Pete I know you watch my videos but I never asked do you do any woodworking?
@@keepmakindust I did a little bit of blacksmithing in my younger days. I've watched many videos on leather work and stained glass methods. There was one video I watched on glass blowing, they were making glass marbles I found it fascinating. I would like to see the short video, as far as being messy you would have to go a long way to catch up with me. I can spend a week tidying up and within two days I'm back to messy again.😁. We have a small holding (you may call it a homestead) its only seven acres with several stone build barns. As a result I dabbled in most things small engine repair, working on cars, tractors, fencing, electrics, plumbing, woodwork, anything that was needed to maintain the property. Sadly advancing years means that now I mostly potter around with small maintenance jobs it keeps me busy, and of course watch TH-cam. Thanks Brady take care👍
