I can do a how to on painting all the roof pieces but for the headlining itself I recommend getting a mobile upholsterer to come and remove and retrim it which costs under $200 if you shop around
Hey how did you get the bottom clip in which you didn't film at 12:21? Did you hold up the tab with your finger or a tool or just really bend the pillar around it?
It's actually not glossy once dry and is the closest to the oem black plastics from the final edition. I have since swapped out to the final edition black interior and when comparing the finish is quite close
Yeah paint was doing well for a few years but it got a few scratches in it over time from the seatbelt buckle. Got a good deal on full oem black interior and while the painted looks good the oem stuff just looks better
How to remove A pillars in your sandals. ;) Thanks Jackson, I am currently refitting mine, as I didn’t do a very good job reinstalling the driver side years ago. ( I did my gauges there) I properly installed them, but the pillar itself needs some adjustments for a cleaner fit. DL’ing the service manual is also a must for any Evo X owner. imo.
Was your passenger seat belt not hooked onto the passenger seat? I have a left hand drive evo and I can not figure out how to get my passenger seat belt bolt off because there is no room to get to it :(
@@mattdesjardins9804 Yup! I just took an open ended wrench (i forget the size) and just put all my force into it haha. luckily nothing broke or stripped. the bolt slid out of the bracket and it was good to go! The car looks and "feels" so much fresher with the black interior now haha
Watch the video I previously made of 15 mods for under $100 Personally I'd go with a high flow panel filter and then probably a few of the cheaper items and you'll have a few things changed already
For the headliner I just got mine and my fiance's retrimmed by a mobile upholsterer and then I painted all the other pieces the same as I did in this video.
@@oon783 Did you ever manage to get the fitment right? I just removed mine and the amount of time I’ve spent trying to get these damn a pillars back on is probably double what I spent doing everything else.
Got my first car I got a 2014 ralliart and I found you're channel and I'm low-key addicted
Awesome first car man, thanks and glad you're enjoying the videos as there's plenty more to come
Great video, can't wait to see the rest of the interior done. Hope you show a how to for the rest of it too.

Jackson Strain hey bro you from aus too? What mobile upholstery have you found, I wanna make roof liner into Alcántara
Bro thank you lol. Have been searching for hours how to remove that now I feel slow...
The little plastic black thing you have to push through😂
Glad you found it helpful
do you need to disconnect the battery? i’m kinda scared for the airbags
Hey mate, I didn't but would probably be a good idea to do so

Hey It takes a bit of effort but if you pry it back it will slot in
nice but the glossy paint is weird, i sanded all plastics and paint in matt black

@@JacksonStrain Thanks for the update, why did you change the interior again? Did the paint hold?
Yeah paint was doing well for a few years but it got a few scratches in it over time from the seatbelt buckle.

Hahaha yeah was a casual day 😅
When I picked up a set of oem black pillars I spent a good amount of time getting them to fit the best I could
... That was satisfying AF
Thanks mate

No it's not hooked onto the seat and I can't say I've seen one like that in Australia
Lorenzo Ramunno did you manage to figure it out ? Same issue here.

DO you not need to prime, or clear coat these? Im a bit worried about just a base coat when the vehicle sits in sun for long periods.
Nope just thoroughly clean them first, I had these in my car for 3 years with no issues and is a daily driver that sat outside at work
Are these pretty much the same as the stock es lancer?
Yep they're exactly the same as the ones in the Evos
What would be your first recommended mod to do on a ralliart under $200 ?
Watch the video I previously made of 15 mods for under $100

Hey mate, how did you end up blacking out the sun visors? Cheers
Hey mate I removed them as well as all the lights and grab handles and painted them with the same paint i used on the pillars.
What color you used? How with airbags- turned off?
I used black paint as shown in the video, I didnt disconnect the battery but you can do so to be safer if wanted
@@JacksonStrain Thank you I wrote wrong, I mean what paint, paint for vinyl, textil, or plastic?
@@mrden4771 i used duplicolor vinyl and fabric paint
@@JacksonStrain Thanks
Can you do a video about your headliner ?
For the headliner I just got mine and my fiance's retrimmed by a mobile upholsterer and then I painted all the other pieces the same as I did in this video.
Thank you
Glad the video could help
Is this fabric spray paint??
Hey mate yes it is, called duplicolor fabric and vinyl dye
How do you put the a pillar back without leaving a gap on the bottom clip?
You have to clip it into the dash there will be a little bit of plastic sticking out.
It's a bitch to get back in at first
@@JacksonStrain thanks!
inpossible to get back on mine looks like shit now
@@nickheemskerk265 same, its been half a year. Lol

love the videos !
Thanks 🙏
Thanks for the vids, 4 days to go till I get my ralliart
Awesome man I bet you can't wait
@@JacksonStrain days are going to slow
How do yall manage to always find ralliarts? Within a 300 mile radius ive only found 2 online
There's lots for sale here in Australia and they seem to be quite popular.
@@JacksonStrain ah, im over in the states so im gonna guess theyre significantly less in quantity
@@Pippy1 must be the case
@@Pippy1 im in states, i actually found my ralliart at my local carmax believe it or not
This is crazy cuz I’m painting my pillars too!! Started yesterday ! Lol
Haha perfect
Now it's to find out how to get my car to not smell like paint
Takes about 2 days or so to go away, leaving windows down overnight helps
Black is best, luckily my FE did come with the entire liner and pillars black stock.
Yeah seeing a friend's FE interior is what made me change mine to black as it looked so much better
But that becomes a blind spot at nigth
How do you figuire?
All that's different is instead of being cream it's black
