not a DJ but also in a creative space with nooo transparency bout money so learning from you and applying to my own circumstance, with gratitude ! from canada 📡
Thank you so much for watching! It’s really refreshing to be getting views from The Great White North. Wishing you nothing but the best with your journey 🙏🏿❤️
Great video, thanks for the tips, also an introvert DJ and music producer here starting out so good to learn what options are out there! Keep up the great work, hope 2025 is a great year for you!
Hey Thozi! Just wanted to thank you for this vid, as someone who’s just starting out, it was eye opening to see that DJing and relying on Active Income isn’t gunna cut it. It’s important to maximize the income streams with the craft, appreciate you !
Thanks you for watching man, and I’m glad you found this video helpful. Yes, it’s important to diversify income and take advantage of what’s available to us. Wishing you nothing but the best with your journey ❤️🙏🏿
New sub. Love your presence and relatability. You’re a real, dude. Not a content creator myself but life long DJ. It runs in our veins. Congratulations on your success. Keep banging it out.
Hola Thozi. I enjoyed your video. It is delivered in the most simple and authentic way, and it is highly educational. I certainly learnt a lot and will be applying the knowledge I gathered. Thanks so much.
Wow, thanks for this. I’m interested in learning how to DJ and eventually earning from it. My goal is to focus on home DJing or small gatherings of around 20 people, while also creating content by going live or posting videos on TH-cam. However, I’m unsure where to start and a bit concerned about copyright issues since I’m unfamiliar with how everything works. Could you kindly offer any guidance or advice? Thanks in advance
Can you please include making songs that sounds clear but I've seen that video about mixing and mastering and aslo managing the start to the end of the song especially like afro house or 3 step if possible ❤
TH-cam videos take about 4 days to make. Shorts/TikTok take about 30 minutes to a few hours (that's if I shoot on the camera instead of my phone and do some crazy editing)
@Thozi .. I'm planning on getting back into the DJ Game .. I used to love it as a hobby , and it turned into a money maker .. but that was way back ( had technique 1200 and Gemini mixer) .. now everything is Digital, so I have a lot to learn .. I'm looking for a DJ Controller and the Rane Performer caught my eyes .. It may be a bit overkill for me just starting out , but I think I'm gonna get it anyway .. Question : should I get a Controller that's on the lower end , or just get the Rane Performer ? What's your opinion ? .. just wanted your take ... ( I have a Laptop, Speakers, Headphones, USB sticks and some SSD External Drives) .. Is there anything else I need , other than a Controller ??
@@thozimusic .. yep I got the funds .. Rane Performer it shall be .. Thanks for your response, I appreciate it .. look forward to more video and live streams .. Keep up the good work 👍🏾😁🙌🏾
So many reasons, music can be played without you actively watching the screen, so you don't see the ads. Anyone can listen to music, so advertisers don't know who the target audience is so it's kinda like a gamble, as opposed to when a video is about sneakers, they'd know the average viewer is into sneakers therefore an advert about shoe cleaners (eg) would likely be R.O.I positive. While it's true that copyright claims are a thing, it's not the reason why music makes less money on TH-cam @djgarybmixesit . If you receive a copyright claim on your video, you don't make "less" money, you make absolutely nothing, $0...all the money goes to the artist/label
Thank you for your transparency around the overall figures. This was helpful!
I am glad it was helpful, thank you so much for watching!
Man your content is international level
lol thanks brother
It's great seeing this explained from a South African perspective. You have a new subscriber.

I am a dj, this content just gave me an inspiration
Wooowww...this was an amazing video.
There's actual money in content creation. But it really looks like a person has to be made for it
Ek se masekind. Big ups to you. Love to see my people thriving.

THANK YOU FOR THE INFORMATION!
So what happen from ads that plays on my music was distrubuted by distrokid or other distrubutor
In that case, the money goes to DistroKid who then hand it over to the artist.
Can you make an in Depth video for gaining sponsorships? That’s my main goal this year
Wow, thanks for this.

Nice video. So,as a DJ what content do you suggest to bring a channel for the right level to be able to monetize videos?
Can you please include making songs that sounds clear but I've seen that video about mixing and mastering and aslo managing the start to the end of the song especially like afro house or 3 step if possible ❤
Respect!
I wondered how long you spend making your content, either per day or per week?
TH-cam videos take about 4 days to make. Shorts/TikTok take about 30 minutes to a few hours (that's if I shoot on the camera instead of my phone and do some crazy editing)
Wait can you explain TH-cam more? So let’s say I have a video of at least 20k with less subscribers? Would I still get paid by youtube
❤❤

Honestly, if you have the budget, go for it! (this is quite literally the best answe I can give, lol)

Would like to ask why does music make the least on youtube
Because of copyright strikes.
@@djgarybmixesit Copyright evenif its your own music?
@@chumza7498 yep

Batshele wena husband 😂😂. So, do you still get your full $ when I skip the ads?
😂 I think so
That's false. I know plenty of DJs that dj full time.
everyone knows plenty of DJs that DJ full time, what are you on about?
