- Building a jetty for my pond at my homestead while fighting the elements of winter and the rising pond water! Full jetty build from the START to the FINISH.
I have started my solo off-grid shipping container home build, and I could not be more excited!
In the last few months, I finished building my own house foundations for under $6k when I was quoted $60k for contractors to do it, I installed a concrete shed slab myself for under $4k, I got my SHIPPING CONTAINERS delivered and placed on the footings that I built, I got the jetty posts in my dam and felled some dead tree's all before winter hit!
I have recently moved across the country due to the housing crisis and bought an off-grid property with the dream to build my own container house.
I became an owner builder and after 8 months of design and planning I was approved to build my own home in Western Australia.

Another great video ! Get yourself a tarp to just throw over your tools when the rain comes in so your not hauling a wheelbarrow back and forth everytime, tape up electrical cord plugs to keep the water out of connections

OMG, fantastic job!!! You call the jetty a jetty, that's exactly what it is! I think BIG when I think of a dock (where ships dock), and a pier is longer, often made of concrete and usually goes out a lot further, like into the sea (from my experience in life anyways) 😁It's definitely interesting getting other's takes on this, however, it's defo a jetty ... and a fantastic one at that!
