Thank you so much for this! One comment to people watching this. Follow his directions exactly. The links he provides are helpful, but don't follow the linked videos to the end as some of them are for older versions or for the arcade cabinet which has multiple USB ports. From my experience, the order of steps matters, and this video has the correct order for the Gamer Pro.
Is 4.5 the yippee ki yay version or did I download the wrong build? Trying to do exactly what you're doing in the video and I'm confused about what specifically to download. Any help is greatly appreciated!
My legend gamer pro now is not recognizing my usb stick with my coin ops on it, its saying i dont even have a usb stick inserted. Any help is appreciated.
The puck only has a single USB port so you are going to need a USB Hub if you want to connect the controller via USB along with a USB drive for the games. It does not need to be a powered one though which is good. If you plan on loading up a bunch of games I find Coinops can get a bit laggy, I prefer just using the stock GUI to browse through the side loaded games.
I've seen this before, I think it has to do with the file you selected at download. Some do not include the extras I'm guessing to conserve space. Did you use the archive .org file?
@@bloocheez3 double check the COX files. Make sure there is a folder with the graphics and videos in the file you are copying. @@carholegamer9083 I got it working . I had the cox and uce folders within the folder from where I unzipped it. Dragged them to the root of the drive and it's all good now. thanks!
Once you have all the uce files you can get another usb drive and just add in your favorite games on to the new usb drive and you can use the addon feature under byog. This lets you play without connecting to arcadenet. I prefer this because coinopsX is very buggy. All the weekly updates haven’t done it any favors either. Some games won’t load properly in coinopsX. You can use addonX too but I prefer addon honestly. You also don’t need to mess with partitioning the drive. Just drag and drop. It won’t be a pretty as coinopsX but will get the job done especially when the at games servers go down and they inevitably will if people don’t subscribe to arcadenet.
Ok so this is the viewpoint I'm looking for, someone who understands it simply. Can you please explain the difference between addon/addonx/coinopsx? Having a really hard time finding answers and wrapping my head around how this all works. I'd love to add my own nes roms etc but just can't understand what I'm doing. Any help would be greatly appreciated
@@christopherthompson4785 addon was the original way to play sideloaded roms on the legends ecosystem. Basically you just drag and drop your UCE rom files on a usb drive and the addon app will recognize it and load up the rom. No needing to login to atgames…etc. Addonx is a similar concept but you need to download a pc side application that lets you build the usb drive and rom files so they can be played on the legends ultimate/gamer pro…etc. you need to be logged in with at games to play(gives you 5 times to play offline before requiring you to login again to play). Hey Jerome thanks for stopping by, when you connect via Bluetooth you must connect player 1 and player 2 separately from the list of parable devices. Let me know if you have anymore questions.
Thanks for the video. I've done this successfully on a Pro with V4 and no issues. I'm trying to set up v4.5 for my special-needs nephew on a Legends Mini and when I mount FlashDriveX, it appears to be mounting first partition, not the 2nd partition with the content. There's an error to the effect of "no CoinOps file found". Did I miss something?
Make sure the partition names are consecutive like A: B: C:. So 1st partition should be A: and second should be B:. I'm not sure if it will fix it but I remember taking that step when making mine. Also the 1st partition should be where the flash drive X format is written. The 2nd partition should contain the COX files. It will always look for the 1st partion automatically when mounted.
@@carholegamer9083 same issue I ran into, I had drive letters not consecutive, so I changed it to be consecutive, “F” & “G” drives but when I go back and plug into Legends Gamer I still end up with the same message no conopsx file found. Did I miss a step?
Hi. Thanks for posting. Another site said to create a 16gb partition vs the 4gb partition you suggest. Any upside/downside to doing to if I am using a 128gb USB stick? Thanks
I also saw that video. I believe 4gb is a minimum requirement. You can go bigger just not smaller. Only reason for 16gb might be for future updates of flash drive X.
I have a question. Is it true that you have to be signed in to an At games account and be online; in order to add your own games? Is there a way around this? I just ordered one of these from gamestop as it was on sale; but if this is the case I may cancel.
LOL, I bought this thing and the stand not knowing what a colossal pain it would be to load up with games. I'm gonna go throw it at a tree in my backyard.
I believe you have to reconnect to the internet and the counter will reset to 5. I have had luck with the counter actually getting stuck but I have not updated the firmware in a few cycles.
