Best looking Bulova I've seen in years.
A perfectly fine every day watch from Bulova. Great alternative to a similarly styled Tissot Gentleman, without the Swiss Made price tag and powermatic movement. Thank you TGV for enlightening us with Bulova's rich and illustrious history. It gives the ownership of one of these timepieces, so much more meaning and pride. Bulova are releasing some really interesting designs lately. I love the Jet Star with its super accurate quartz movement. Pure Class!
It's a nice everyday piece. I wish the indices were lumed and I wish they utilized the 9000 series movement. It could have been slimmed down a bit but I guess you can't have everything.
for the 9000 series there's the Wilton but it costs a bit more

I find and always found it interesting that Bulova is considered a fashion watch brand, not a luxury watch. Their designs are excellent. It maybe the fact that they are sold in department stores and malls. The green is magnificent.
That emerald green dial is simply stunning!
I have a soft spot for Bulova. My dad wore them and I’ve had a few. Like Timex I think in the last few years the two brands have been improving greatly. Though misses like the water resistance on this one show there’s room for improvement. Not quite there to go toe to toe with seiko.

Can't help but imagine what a fluted bezel would look like alongside the recessed secondhand markers. Especially with the light sage green dial and to come in a smaller 36mm case size.
Fantastic video! Bulova is one of my favourite brands. In fact, my first nice watch that I bought myself YEARS ago was a Bulova Precisionist when they first came out. It’s a big and heavy 44mm chronograph model that is like 15.5mm thick if I remember correctly, however is also is featuring a sweeping second hand on a 262kHz quartz movement which was what sold me on the watch originally. While I still have it and would never sell it out of love from the nostalgic peregrination it has been a part of, it rarely gets any wrist time above my current daily wearers of the 39mm Explorer 1, or my most favourite weekend piece these days; my two tone Rolex Daytona 116503, with the black dial that is simply unbeatable as it was my original grail piece for as long as I can recall.

Your videos are always first rate! I’m a Bulova fan having seen them advertised since the early 70’s growing up in West Virginia. They were always prominently displayed in the local jewelry store where I would visit after school. Thanks for prompting those memories! I fully agree with your review of these releases. Yes they aren’t perfect by any means but they are still quite attractive pieces and to be honest, the “affordable end” of the watch market is where I live. I have the Bulova Jetstar remake in gold. I have fallen in love with the Accutron movement; I wish this had it. But it’s still dripping with class.
I own the JetStar limited edition very super watch! Love that super quartz movement everybit as good as GS quartz imo

Last summer at a yard sale I found a special edition Bulova accutron 1973 10KT rolled gold watch for $1 dollar! It is in great condition and I absolutely love it. Great video TGV, Salute!

Hey @@theurbangentry, I accidentally found there is one more black dial on a strap model number 96B435 on some germany and uk websites but not the official Bulova site. Is it some special release only available for certain country markets and are there anymore colors of the new 39mm surveyor other than these 4? Their website only has the 3 colorways presented in this video.

Great video as always, everytime there's a new Bulova video I hope it's an accutron with a smaller diameter, I keep hoping!
I was very interested in their former release, the Jet Star but it seemed a bit too blingy.
These also seem to be a bit shiny, but that burgundy is very appealing.
I'd say this is a great watch, first/starter watch or 20th watch as long as you don't mind the "J.J. Abrams" bloom.

The red dial w/ rose gold looks quite nice with all of the specs and features being of, if not a tad over its price point, it was nice to see such a quality, honest review.I think Bulova as of late,is poised to be a great player again with enthusiasts and regular consumers alike. The rich heritage and legitimate legend models they have from their past,Lunar Pilot,Devil Diver, Accutron and my personal favorite, the A11 field pieces, give them bonafide prestige in the market, especially in the affordable price tier. I really enjoyed this video! I think people, when considering a watch purchase, should consider the history of the brand. If you know the history, when you look at that tuning fork, you instantly go back in time thru their history. Cheers my friend 🍻🥂

The red one on a leather strap that is red as the dial would be great. But 30 m waterresistance for that price is a no go for me.
I'm loving the dial colors especially the burgundy dialed one with the rose colored gold crown it's awesome how can you not fall in love with the colors of the watches all 3 are awesome.
The pictures of the emerald green dial model don’t do it justice IRL. Gorgeous deep pearl green with that oyster style bracelet, it really pops. The just under 40mm size fits my wrist just right. I’m likely picking that one up from my local jeweler after my blue Super Seville. Thanks for your great work TGV. Cheers!

I'm such a vuntage Bulova fan, in fact inam preparing my collection video for your review, it is nearly all vintage Bulova. I was so excited when I saw these watches, the red made me stand up out of seat. Finally something that looks like a Bulova from Bulova....BUT...the lack of screw down crown and only 30m water rating deflated my Ballon rapidly. Deal breaker for this tried and true Bulova fan.

I got my first Bulova at Disney World and fell in love. I got a Citizen as well but Bulova just has that wow factor. I definitely get a lot more compliments with it.
I just ordered 2 more watches today and am very excited to wear them.
Saw these in person. They're nicer than anything they compete with, aside from the obvious *very* expensive competitors. The pistachio one in particular, with the cut outs, is wow material.
Great review TGV fella, a classic watch with modernist styling at a great price. I can see this being a serious option if Bulova can hit the marketing accurately. The waterproof level is a concern as the minimal standard these days is 100m I think. All the best fella 🤙🏻

Omg T are you reading my mind? I was just literally looking at the Bulova website when this popped up. That smokey red is absolutely beautiful. I'm a massive Ferrari fan and it reminds me of 70s Ferraris. I remember seeing a film as a kid, these cliffs in the midwest and you got this smokey red ferrari going thru that terrain, so flamboyantly yet elegantly, with such a beautiful sound. Felt like anything was possible. This watch gives me that feeling. I can see you're donning your santos as well, my inner hugo is coming out. I just saw a green Cartier Santos irl and it's like a santos version of the SARB033. The dial is not really green, more black, and the strap is British racing green. Absolutely beautiful. That and this bulova are both 100% on my purchase list.
Goodness I love your Santos! And Bulova is on my list this year. I love The Citizen Group, Miyota, Citizen, Bulova, and Alpina. I just recently picked up a Tissot Couturier, ETA Quartz movt as my first Swiss watch, and I love it. This beautiful Bulova along with the Casio Oceanus will have to end up in the collection. 👌🏼✨

Bulova has been taking making strides over the last few years! The Lunar Pilot, Wilton GMT, Devil Diver, the Accutron brand, Astronaut, and now this! They just need to start eliminating some of the gaudier pieces from their collection. Great video!
Huge Bulova fan I own a Wilton, Mil Ships, Devil Diver GMT. This one is close but what they really should release is a new Super Seville. I own a 1977 version and its just stunning fantastic.
Same here, my first nice watch was a Bulova gold super seville, I also own a 1973 special edition Bulova accutron 10kt gold that is in beautiful condition.

Having a tough time between the red and the green. I love that the bracelet is quick release really makes it simple to dress up or down.
I saw one of my favorite TH-camrs Rolex Datejust and wanted something similar for a affordable price and i ended up with a black open heart version of this and I love it

I got a Jetstar a week ago. I love some of the watches Bulova brand. I like these 70s looking polished cushion cases & I like the quick deployment spring bars. The butterfly clasp takes a bit of getting used to but I'm very satisfied with it so I'll buy again from Bulova
Totally agree about the display back, this seems to happen with so many watches at the moment that don’t feature the most decorated movements. Still, love the red and rose gold dial.
Great video, and giving Bulova style and substance more credence to the viewer. I’ll certainly consider them with a fresh perspective.
I was particularly taken by the green dial version, but while I could live with the lume issue due to the more dressy vibe of the watch, the 30m WR is a killer.

I have the pistachio green it's amazing. I already removed the cyclops. I'm going to attempt to replace the hands with non-lume dolphine hands that I found for that movement

Hi can you clear up something you said at the 6:00 mark in the video. You stated the 8000 series had bidirectional winding which from all I have seen on the 8000 series says they are just unidirectional winding.
Just ordered mine: the emerald green + stainless bracelet; excited to get it soon! Your video on Bulova watches at the Bulova museum helped seal the deal. I'm also a big Citizen fan. American watch design; beautiful classic look, with a Miyota (Citizen) heartbeat... for a solid price; what's not to love..
(although a 9000 series Miyota would have made this watch the GOAT)

Thanks TGV. Bulova, despite it's storied history is still underappreciated. There are perhaps several reasons for this, some of them valid. But at the end of the day, Bulova is a class act. My father had one for years and I own two myself.

I have a beautiful two-tone Blue/gold Bulova and love it - I really like the Green and the Burgundy ones in this review.
While I have an extensive watch collection that includes Rolex and Cartier it also includes Bulova, which was good enough for Frank.
