Commandos were built differently. They worked behind enemy lines on a regular base, so basically, they needed to be brutal - Especially in case of getting discovered by enemies and prevent them from ringing the alarm bell. Sev is a great example of Commando's brutality... Not even Regs were immune to this, just look at Commander Faie... And to the CX trooper where many think it may be Tech... we know there's a bunch of them. I do have another theory who they may have been before: Covert Ops troopers and/or clone assassins. You know, the fraticidal nutcases... They don't have ID numbers, just as the CX troopers don't have these. Their physical fitness and agility also fits...

Good soilders follow orders that is one of the main story themes of the Clones and this shows that... IRL only in a few milltaries in Earth's history is that a bad thing in most if your commander even a luetant gives an order you must follow it or face harse punishment. As your in those milltaries are trained to act on a commander's order not to think what is best for the flag , state or higher power.
I think that shadow trooper we all thought was Tech before was probably just a nameless clone we don't know. Cody probably either ended up hiding out somewhere or killed by imperials.
it's kinda dum how there aren't more clone commandos that left the empire the empire sees everything as replaceable you'd think they wouldn't like that
I mean, it's very possible that multiple commandos in canon have left, and we just haven't seen them because they didn't join Rex's resistance. You have to remember that the commandos we've seen on Daro and Tantiss are only a couple hundred at most, which is a VERY small portion of the total number of commandos that served during the Clone Wars.
It's hard to see Clones as villains now, but just like when it comes to the Republic itself, when it comes to the Clones there are good ones like Rex, Cody, Wolffe, the Bad Bbatch, and many others, but there are also evil ones like a lot of Commandos. And seeing how ruthless Scorch can be I made the right call in my future Battle of Cato Neimodia fanfic by having him and the rest of the Delts being the ones to start burning the grub hatcheries during the battle despite Obi-Wan, Anakin, Rex, Cody, and a few others telling them not to. I mean it's completely horrible but at least it will be accurate. Also to answer your question I don't believe it's Tech because if it was he would have remembered Ppabu and gone right there, instead he had to give the info out of Sid than hack into Vee's ship to find it. So clearly it's a Clone who didn't know about Pabu before hand. It could be Cody, but there are other Clones it could be like Slick or Dogma.
Ya I don’t think it’s tech. Found his glasses after all, due to age rating of show guessing left out actually finding his body alongside them but like…ya…as much as think his character deserves atypical “ooop actually he’s alive” Star Wars loves to do…believe he’s gone, is kinda point too. He disobeyed an order, was his choice to give his life for them. Bringing him back kinda clashes with narrative, and this way, at least he died free.

Yeah, if I had to guess it was likely assaulted by Clone Commandos which is why when its mentioned there is Venom and Disgust in the politician's face.
I love the Commandos..... but you're right about how They are built/trained differently to be more aggressive. As some others pointed out, in the game you get to kill Geonosian eggs helping exterminate baby alien bugs. At least they're taking these kids alive....even tho if certain protocols were in place, they would also probably easily be fine exterminating them. Something that's forgotten about is they're not very cool towards Jedi with several Commando units getting killed because of Mace Windu sending them in not as covert special operations units but more as cannon fodder on the frontlines of Geonosis.
I think anyone who thinks the commandoes weren’t brutal killing machines doesn’t know much about Star Wars or Mandalorian culture, since a lot of it was imbued within them by Jango and Skirata. Sev definitely stood out of Delta, but in the original content Scorch was a jokester. Looks like the empire eventually wore him down
I wonder if the inhibitor chips for the commandos were overclocked. They were always more independently minded than the regs, so maybe the chips were tuned to exert even more control. That might explain why the commandos have been even more robotic than the other clones, and Scorch's complete personality change.
I do want to point out that Delta did none of those things on coruscant. They helped do it, but Karl Skirata led the mission and is the one responsible for the success. Delta helped, but giving them credit is wrong
It was kind of an odd choice for the writers to pick clone commandos to be the loyal stooges to some degree. Not that I think Commando loyalty would be in question, but why has Filoni introduced new 'shadow operatives' and reduced the clone commandos to base guards? Couldn't commandos be the elite operatives and, I dunno, those Covert Ops troopers from the EU be the ones guarding the base? Or, better yet, reuse the Kaminoan Security Troopers, since they fit with the general aesthetic as well with their grey and white uniforms, extreme loyalty and distinctive Kaminoan-esque markings. Why not instead of Scorch being the commander, have the unnamed Kaminoan Security officer from the TCW Chip Conspiracy arc be Hemlock's chief lackey? Then the writers could use Scorch and Delta Squad in their actual capacity.
Personally I feel the “rule” evolved throughout the Clone Wars, at least in Canon. At the start, Clone Troopers were pretty much how Palpatine wanted them. They followed orders without question, only had birth numbers, and didn’t think much about individuality. Sure there were units like Domino Squad and the Bad Batch in training, but they were considered defective exceptions. Throughout the Clone Wars though, things change. The Jedi act as a major positive influence over most Clone Troopers leading to the adoption of names, coloring their armor, doing their hair, and adopting some of the morals of the Jedi. I will concede that this change wasn’t universal. Obviously any Clone not under the command of a Jedi like the Clone Commandos isn’t going to change as much. Clones serving under guys like Tarkin will be more receptive to the Galactic Empire. Then we get to Order 66 and the rise of the Galactic Empire. At first the Clones are under the control of the inhibitor chips, but they’re awake the whole time. They’re likely confused about the Jedi being traitors, but by the time the chips wear off the Jedi are long gone. So at first all Clones decide to just go with the flow. To them, things still seem to be the same besides the absence of the Jedi. Palpatine is still in charge and the military is still being supported by the public and the Senate, and Separatists holdouts still persist. Imperial atrocities and other morally questionable acts would make most Clones in my opinion uncomfortable, but most won’t say anything because as much as the Jedi changed them, most Clones still would rather follow orders than disobey them. They never had to think too much about the issue since orders from the Jedi rarely would put them in morally dark territory. Eventually though the war crimes might get too much, especially when Clones get phased out despite their years of service. Nothing like an outright rebellion or even mass protests, but love and loyalty for the Empire compared to the Republic is going to be extremely low. Most Clones are not going to be Imperial Patriots or Fanatics like Scorch, his Commandos, or the CX Troopers. I get where Geetsly is coming from with the Clone Wars being made for younger audiences, but by this point it’s set the tone for what the Canon version of the Clone Wars is. To folks like me, Canon Clones and Legends Clones are different and I prefer the former over the latter.
@@leonrussell9607 First of all, I just mean Clone Wars content. Secondly despite being made for kids, it came off more as for teenagers. Thirdly I don’t really see how modern Clone Wars content has been hurt by the show.
@@leonrussell9607 First, questionable quality? Second, I think there are folks online who would point out which episodes are relevant to the modern shows. Third, what’s wrong with continuity? Heck, Legends constantly had novels and comics have characters and planets from other stories pop up. Heck, look at Tales of the Jedi and check out the trailer of Tales of the Empire. They have stories that fill in blanks on the lives of characters. We’ll see more of Barriss and see how Thrawn and Morgan became comrades. We already saw how Anakin’s training helped Ahsoka and what Dooku was up to during the Phantom Menace.

Neither was more common than the other is right. IMO. I think the more common trooper was the " i was just following orders" kind of troopers. Just like in the real world. It fits perfect for your second channel. Very few troopers that enjoyed killing and overall psychopaths (SS) and very few people that are willing to stand up to evil. (resistance) I wouldn't even put the Allied forces in that category. Both fall under that middle ground. The Wermacht those that werent avid Nazis were too scared to stand up to them out fear of the consequences. And the Allies were willing to let the Nazis bully their neighbors until it affected them personally. Including the Americans. I think it retroactively became a righteous war.
I feel like the shadow trooper is tech he is more slender like tech and idk just get subtle tech vibes from him I kinda hope it isn't just for the reason nobody actually dies now in star wars but it would be a cool plot twist
Just Seperatist propaganda, Commandos are heroes. Honestly though, I understand they kind of ignore or repurpose most things like Republic Commando to suit their own needs, but I couldn’t even imagine there being so many commandos considering how independent and bonded with the Mandalorians they were. Not to mention that clone shouldn’t have even been scorch to begin with, fans say it enough until it becomes a minor amount of useless fanfare in the way of a name that doesn’t last long. Man done dirty and the rest of the squad’s whereabouts unknown and Sev is just up in the air since they don’t have to recognize the events of Republic Commando. That was definitely not originally Scorch, and the characterization (which was minimal) was enough to see that but now he’s dead because people wanted it to be scorch so much.
@@some_shitposting_idiot3023 sorry, could you run that by me again? I’m under the impression you haven’t reached high school yet and don’t know how to properly form sentences.
I think you have to keep in mind, that it's pretty clear you're actually mixing continuity too much here. Disney made a choice, a pretty daft one at that, and ignored massive chunks of source material. Additionally, Filoni made the questionable choice to cop out and make Order 66 something the cones had no choice in. So, for the purposes of Filoni's brand, thus is highly irregular. In a more cohesive, and realistic setting, the actions discusses in this episode would be positively tame. But, he wanted to draw "clear" distinctions between good and evil in his shows. Therefore, as he didn't care how much he altered the story, there is no need to try and justify using source material he likely ignored anyway.

A lot of people also like to say “But the comics said most Commandos didn’t like Order 66 and didn’t betray the Republic” and conveniently forget those comics are no longer canon. The new way the Commandos are presented in the new canon makes more logical sense. The Commandos are more capable and more dangerous and therefore more useful to the Empire. Therefore, they are much more likely to have been seen as too precious of an asset to simply have not received extra measures to ensure their loyalty and ease of control. You don’t make an elite operator without the assurance that you will be able to safeguard that investment in time and resources. So it then makes sense for why the Commando force is still well under the Empire’s control.
Also, anyone who says that most commandos didn't like Order 66 is just flat out wrong. Yes, a few squads went AWOL because of the order, such as Omega Squad and Ion Team, but most commandos had no issue with it, such as Aiwha Squad. Most commandos in Legends stayed loyal to the Empire and ended up being retasked with hunting down remaining Jedi.

I guess you can say they’re like Spartans from HALO
Screw things like your favorite childhood teddy bear being actually a murder machine and not finding out right away. Let's ask the real questions. Scorch is clearly a wink to older legends content, being a favorite. But, uh, let's hear the lore reason. Delta. Are they disbanded? Sev still dead until proven otherwise? Where the bois at?
Sev is MIA we never saw a body and the only thing we know is that he lost comms.
@@The_Elite_Emerald Through years? C'mon, if he alive he's done with delta. Legends had things planned, but nothing ever came from it. Canon is just silent.
Sev was supposed to help the rebel alliance in a cancelled game in the Republic Commando Saga, Deltta Squad got merged with other commando units like Omega Squad and a few others under "Squad 40" hunting down jedi fugitivesm imperial dissidents and whatnot.

that's not "overkill"
that's normal stun
It's still stun, they couldve restrained the child but they shot him with what's essentially a super effective tranquilizer
@@themelon_1785 but that would require effort and pulling a trigger is so much easier
and they are force sensitive
not at a jedi level but that can be very dangerous
yeah, obviously I disagree with imprisoning and experimenting on children but Emerie’s reaction was a little dramatic like come on now, there’s no permanent damage done
Still holding onto the hope that Boss (38) has at least a decent moral compass. Maybe not in Legends, but I do hope he does in Canon.
Something happened after the events of imperial commando to make Scorch what he is now. Heard his personality was based on Michaelangelo from TMNT, maybe Fixer and Boss got K.I.A
"Scorch: The Last Ronin" energy
Yo what about least season with the young Zilo beast, and them mass deportation of an entire village???
Hunting Trandoshians seems pretty based
Good soilders follow orders that is one of the main story themes of the Clones and this shows that... IRL only in a few milltaries in Earth's history is that a bad thing in most if your commander even a luetant gives an order you must follow it or face harse punishment. As your in those milltaries are trained to act on a commander's order not to think what is best for the flag , state or higher power.
"Now, is it red-red-green, or red-green-red?" - Scorch setting an explosive, Battle of Kashyyyk.
Scorch basically executed Order 37 on that small town.
Not gonna lie, it felt like they were executing Order 37.
I'm just tired of them blueballing Republic Commando fans.
What happened on tabu reminds me of order 37 but only applies to scorch
I think that shadow trooper we all thought was Tech before was probably just a nameless clone we don't know. Cody probably either ended up hiding out somewhere or killed by imperials.
it's kinda dum how there aren't more clone commandos that left the empire
the empire sees everything as replaceable
you'd think they wouldn't like that
Probably same mindset as Crosshair in the beginning, stay useful and you won't be replaced.
Question: Where do the Clone troopers learned to commit war crimes?
Answer: From their Jedi Generals, of course.
No. Clones committed war crimes for the sake of it.
@@tk-6967everyone was commenting war crimes. Some Jedi (like Ki-Adi-Mundi and Quinlan Vos) stopped certain clones from committing even more war crimes.
@@azureheart2846 And?
I love bad batch episode 10 and 11 two of My favorite episodes in the series so far and l love seeing clone commandos one of my favorite troopers in all of star wars
I wish i could be a republic commando fr
6:45 they basically enacted Order 37
Eh, I didnt exactly forget, remember that one episode of CW where Padme and Ahsoka go into seperate space and meet a contact whos husband was killed during a base attack?
I just want to know where the rest of delta is
I'm still surprised the imps didn't liberate the shit out of that island where the Batch was hiding out after they got Omega.
I was always more of a ARC Trooper guy anyway
There's a reason we don't see the Delta Squad or any other commandos in TCW. Their mission was so secretive and brutal, it'll be pushing TCW too much
I think anyone who thinks the commandoes weren’t brutal killing machines doesn’t know much about Star Wars or Mandalorian culture, since a lot of it was imbued within them by Jango and Skirata.
Even in Legends he became more dour and serious about following orders when Sev went missing so perhaps something similar happened to him.
Nah, they probably just didn't give 2 fucks
I do want to point out that Delta did none of those things on coruscant. They helped do it, but Karl Skirata led the mission and is the one responsible for the success. Delta helped, but giving them credit is wrong
It’s sad to see one of your childhood heroes become the villain.
Clone Commandos: The Canadians of Star Wars.
I thought that the BB commandos were clone trained humans. When these guys speak they dont sound like Jango
A lot of good points. :)
Basing the entire Disney canon around a show made for 8 year olds is a dumb decision
@@leonrussell9607 First of all, I just mean Clone Wars content. Secondly despite being made for kids, it came off more as for teenagers. Thirdly I don’t really see how modern Clone Wars content has been hurt by the show.
@@tristankawatsuma8962 because to understand the new Disney shows, you need to watch 2 entire kids TV shows of questionable quality
Better being a one-winged angel (yes, feel free to play a certain FF VII theme) than a bloody Gabriel. That guy doesn't seem to have much good rap in stuff like Neil Gaiman's books.
Cool
Commandos being based as always
Is it actually confirmed that it's scorch? Or just an accepted theory🤔
True
Wars not make one great. Wars tarnish all.
It really is a tragedy that the only truly good Star Wars over the past decade has been animated.
Say what you will, but Scorch was different. He never even talked like he does in BB. That commando being Scorch is not my headcanon.
"i don't like something so im going to pretend it isnt true" are this childish with everything in your life?
@@some_shitposting_idiot3023 sorry, could you run that by me again? I’m under the impression you haven’t reached high school yet and don’t know how to properly form sentences.
Scorch changed when he lost Sev, dude.
I'd be a grump too if a wrinkly Goblin got my best friend and brother killed.

What is up with these sexbots in the comments?
Most commandos in Legends stayed loyal to the Empire and ended up being retasked with hunting down remaining Jedi.
dude dont even act or sound like scorch dawg
He acts pretty close to how Scorch acted in Legends post Order 66, and Scorch having a unique voice was strictly a game thing to make it easier for the players to know who was talking
