Rick, you are class and im not even trying to tell you what to do but why not go for a more forgiving driver, Peter Finch is using the Pung g430 max 10k. And hes crushing it. Also your iron play is phenomenal, just putter let you down today. But as far as TH-cam golf goes, you're still the man
I have enjoyed Rick's videos for years, but I have to question his course management here. First, if I was coming off my worst ever warm-up session I would not announce that I was going to play driver all day. First hole (330 yards), make sure you just set up a wedge shot by using whatever is a 230 yard club in your bag. That way you build your confidence and don't walk off with an immediate double bogey. Seventh hole his drive rolls into the water when 3-wood would have been sufficient. Last hole he wants to "annihilate" the ball with his driver. Why? He does best when he smooths his swing and still gets plenty of distance. He had some bad luck with the putter, but the real problem was not hitting the scoring areas off the tee.
I agree with everything you said. I watched him do a 9 hole video playing only irons and he shot 3 under. He doesn’t need driver every time on a par 4 or par 5. He should follow 2 rules, get the ball in play then get it on the green. Birdies will come to you.
Solid comment. Thumbs up. I'd also take it one step farther and point out to Rick that his full wedge shots in this round were laser focused. On holes where he can...hit an approach shot that puts him at 125 in so that he can put that wedge inside of ten feet.
Rick! Your game falls apart when the regret and fear creeps in. It happens because you are focused on your score, instead of on hitting good shots and enjoying the experience of just being out there. Fun to watch. always love the videos!
Loved the mid round analysis. Would love to see that in other videos. I’m an analyst in golf as well as in my day job so would love to see more of that going forward. Keep it up Rick.
Wow. This video opening is filmed on what must be the highest point of elevation in all of Florida. That looks like a solid 50 feet above sea level! Lived there 7 years and never saw a hill above 20. Amazing.
That was a nice stretch of play in the middle of the round, Rick--take confidence and keep plugging away! You're doing great and it's great to follow along as someone who loves golf but who could only dream of breaking 100 at a place like this!
Noticed Rick that when you slowed your swing down on 9th…your 2nd and 3rd shots were sublime. Crisp contact and accurate to where you wanted the ball to finish. 💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾
His biggest problem by far is his hips firing to early trapping him on the inside he then has to stall and flip to try and sync his swing up. When he slows down it allows his hands to go slightly quicker than his hip giving him space to swing and more chance to time the strike. Its his number 1 biggest swing flaw.
@@TheTraditionalGolfer Putting has also been a problem for Rick for quite a while. He has good days with it, but most rounds, he loses 4 to 5 shots with his poor putting.
Streamsong is awesome. Stayed there in ‘21 and played all three courses. As you said at the beginning Rick it’s very ‘natural’ and not what you’d think of a typical Florida course. I remember being at the range on the Black course and looking out thinking it looked like an African savannah.

Rick, I love this video. Fantastic golf course and pretty good golf. Amazing attitude from you! And I loved the pin video on the first hole. Do wish the team used it more as I was constantly looking for where's the hole throughout the video.
Gotta say Rick, I know you didn't play your best round (we all have bad ones), but your chipping/short play has drastically improved. Showing real improvement. Good work and great content as all ways
LOL. I must have watched a different video. The video I watched had three 3-putts, one of which was from six feet, and a chip or two that left him 40 feet away. But I do enjoy Rick's video's immensely (especially the break 75 series), his content, watching his struggles, and especially enjoy seeing the great golf courses.
God, Rick was all around me this year. Between Streamsong and Cabot Citrus farms alone we're talking MAYBE an hour or two? I've got an Arnold Palmer designed course, a Nancy Lopez designed course and a former PGA Champions Tour course in my backyard I play all the time and I was really kinda hoping he'd hit one of them up, but he's playing some really high end stuff in this year's Florida swing so I'm not shocked he didn't trek over my way more. But it would be really nice if he comes in the future to have a Florida meet up of some kind, his content has really served me well over the years, and I've built a nice bag that suits me because his content taught me what kind of equipment to look for. My goal of breaking 90 on the Arnold Palmer Legends course happened last month with an 88. I'd still be shooting 100+ rounds if not for what I've learned on this channel.
There's something about the way Rick says 'Ahh' on a shot that ends badly, that makes it hard to watch, when someone is just so unhappy with the result or their game. Rooting for you Rick, but hard to watch. I didn't actually count, but it's almost an 'Ahh' per shot, at which point, it can't be a surprise anymore. I don't know what the answer is, and I'm really happy to keep following and supporting, but at some point we have to say that this is the game we have and just keep working.
I’ve commented this same thing many time, the huge sighs , the ‘ahhhs’ etc. makes it hard to watch. He doesn’t seem to be enjoying it, I’m not sure if he expects to be perfect. But I’d say some sports psychology would help no end
May I ask what your handicap is. You need to realise Rick was a very good golfer rick would of been scratch. Knowing you're able to shoot even par and a slight pull every few holes is causing you lost shots is going to be frustrating. Why can't rick do it? the pros do it. I'm a 8 handicapper who just shot 100 yesterday for the first time in about 2 years. It was frustrating as hell. I don't normally get angry I can normally hold it together. I've had rounds where I'm 12 over par with 4 holes to go and I'll pull another shot and it's frustrating. I know that one miss is causing me 6 to 10 shots a round. The 2 days recently where I didn't pull a shot I went -3 for 9 hole match and +1 for a 18 holes match. I know the games there but it's tiny mistakes thats causing issues. This is exactly what rick is going through atm. Give the guy a freaking break.
Agree. He overcompensates by trying to talk a positive game & then when his real game bites him we have to hear all the ahh's & whining. If you constantly have to try to talk yourself into being positive then the underlying reality is you are assuming negative is what you will likely do. Unfortunately there are a lot of other similar channels that are a lot more entertaining.
Agreed. I honestly don't care if he plays well or not, but the self-imposed hang to perfection is not pleasant to watch. I don't like playing with people that complain about all their non-perfect shots either. We can see it's a bad shot, we know you've hit better shots in your life, but non-perfect shots is 90% of the game. Deal with it.
Was there in 2016 when it was only 2 courses. Stayed at the club house, woke up looked out the window to see my clubs waiting for me. A must play destination course!
I love that Ricks music never tells the shot coming up. You can have the most victorious music playing and then it's a horrible shot. You would never know
Yes!! That driver is costing him at least 5 shots a round. Ricks iron play has significantly improved, he is scrambling from spots off the fairway. His putter costed him 5 shots and his driver 5 shots ⛳️
Don't know why he still letting pride get in the way of his driver choice. He needs a forgiving driver not a low spin one. But therein lies the issue, he's stubborn about his game.
Rick seems to fixated on speed since he visited Bryson?? Speed is no good if you trade it for accuracy. Don't know why he didn't just upgrade his PING as it was working for him. Bit the bullet Rick, we comment because we care.
Keep up the hard work on your game Rick! Don't forget about course strategy! Why hit driver on 8 and bring water into play? Iron. Wedge. You'll play the hole under par on average.
This is so cool, I read the caption thinking wow a hidden course in America this should be cool, not knowing it’s the course 30 minutes down the road from me that I want to play more than anything. Been searching for a good video of the course and nobody better than Rick to make it. Playing there this summer!!
I played there last year on the Blue course, and it was one of the funnest courses I’ve played. Was great to re-live the experience through your round Rick. All the best!
Hole 1 was a dissaster from the start. Here is my reasoning (no judgement and I would do the same thing and same the same thing, that is why this is funny and supposed to be humorous response). You make a point about playing better with a Caddie and how it forces you to listen more. He then tells you the yardage, what the safe shot it and then asks what club. Your response is "Driver, going to be driver all day today" - I literally fell over laughing so so hard. All I could think of was exactly how I sound on the golf course hahahaha. Dude, hit the 3w to the BIG SAFE spot. You even made a point of having a terrible warm up.... HIT THE 3w to the BIG SAFE SPOT. Easy par with 3w, wedge, putt putt, hell maybe even a birdie Great video, always a fan and thanks for the self relieving laugh.
Played the Red and Blue courses in 2015, before Black was finished. Amazing resort courses and the hotel and hospitality is stunning…..great to see you playing it Rick!!
This place is incredible. I am so glad to see you get to play there. I have suggested this course to you in the comments below some of your other Florida videos. Given how windy it was for your round, You played better there than I did.
I'd challenge you to break 80 at the course I just joined in Perthshire, it's moniker is Crazy Hill, its actual name is Craigie Hill, and I can assure you, it lives up to its nickname! It's completely bonkers, and I love it! Probably one of the most underrated courses in Scotland! Do it, Rick! You'll love it!
We need a short game series. Not sure what chipping/pitching technique you're using, but you should be I think you really focus on dead hands. Jason day is the master of this, Short Game Chef's main focus is on it. Huge margin for error, bad shots still just work.
Don't change the putter Rick, maybe let some one look at the stroke? Don't put to much stress on shooting a certain score, just enjoy the round and the course, the rest will fall into place! Love the series, can't wait to see which course is next 🙂👍🔥
Watching your channel for 9 years. Enjoyed the course videos all the time and have seen the tons, if not all. Somewhat it has changed, it gets harder and harder to watch it. Now production is great locations are superb. And you are anoyed with each and every shot. Shot being hit, then long elaboration on what was wrong and again. It is hard to digets, but I am trying and hoping for some change. Still like the reviews and tips. Thank you for all the work you have put in your videos, it is the great effort and all the best.
I’d like to see a few videos at the same course, one match play, one break 75, and one 2-4 person scramble. That way you’re not stressing trying to break 75 your first time playing a course knowing you don’t have a second chance to get it.
I'm on the first hole, and I had to look it it was breaking 85. At the signature hole now and what a beauty of a hole. Rick you got to stop with all the complaints after every shot. You stand there after a bad shot like you've never hit a bad one. Then you talk about for 30 more seconds. Your killing your game with mental bashing yourself all the time. Hit the ball and go. You can't change a bad shot by talking about it and thinking about it all the way to the next shot brother. Now on the ninth hole and your talking about working hard on your game. You need to work on your mental game and you even touched on it while taking about working on your game on the 9th tee box.
You can tell right away he’s trying to be more positive. Tough way to start when you’re trying to stay positive. Keep at it Rick still love the content!
It was one of those days, Rick. I can't wait to see you put it all together. I think a new putter change would help you. Even if it's just a psychological .
Me and my golfing buddies have discussed a visit to Streamsong , watching your video has made me wanna go even more , tough day Rick and the course shows it’s teeth if your not on it .
Have to give ya credit for hanging around it and staying positive sometimes. No offense at all but if I had a first hole like that right after telling the caddy I wanted to break 75… I’d be like “He’s probably thinking I’m gunna shoot a million”
Ricky, your course management leaves a lot to be desired..... You made up your mind on the first tee that you're hitting driver all day... And your rewarded with a double on the first hole..... Work on your pitch and chip shots!! Love your channe,l been with you forever...😉
Streamsong is an hour from my house and probably my favorite place in the world for golf. I like it more than pebble. But you don’t goto streamsong to shoot a score, just do truly enjoy an amazing three courses

Love your Breaks 75’s Rick but being honest I prefer them in order of when filmed rather than archived so to speak. As a fan we follow your form be it good or bad and airing them in sequence has me as a fan far more invested in your round as opposed to watching a round from months ago. Airing them in sequence adds context rather than just watching you play golf. A suggestion if not in sequence might be a short form wrap prior to teeing off so as fans we know where you’re at. Cheers

Easy par with 3w, wedge, putt putt, hell maybe even a birdie
Great video, always a fan and thanks for the self relieving laugh.
Spot on 😊
Played the Red and Blue courses in 2015, before Black was finished.
Loved the ufc edit made me laugh 😂, great looking.course ⛳
39:49 caddie ‘PUTTING’ as Rick proceeds to his ball 20 yards off the side of the dancefloor 😂
'My game isn't far away.........seems like the story every week
Was waiting for the caddy to quote the Scotsman who caddied for Rick once upon a time “Finally, a golf shot!”
Putting a blues soundtrack on a break 75 video actually really hits the spot 😂 I kind of love it
I think James Wiltshire Golf was right about Rick’s swing problems.
Liked this vid. Yes the bants is missing, but sound, scene's, background noise, WAY better
I feel like Rick would score much better with a more forgiving driver. He goes low spin heads on everything, but sprays them around.
Lets go Rick! One of my favorite local courses
Rick you just seem to be enjoying golf more and it shows in the videos! Can't wait till next time
So good to see Rick happy playing golf and not being too hard on himself.
I’d like to see a few videos at the same course, one match play, one break 75, and one 2-4 person scramble. That way you’re not stressing trying to break 75 your first time playing a course knowing you don’t have a second chance to get it.
My favorite of all time was when you played with Iona on the coast back across the pond...that was a beautiful film
Would love to see you, Fryer, Pete and Carter play the 3 courses together 👌🏻 would definitely be epic!
I really dig these off-the-tee drone shots with the tracer, what a cool vantage point.
You put us through it Rick, man the putts that just rolled by, think i might have snapped it over my knee after that short 3 putt 😵💫
That putter saves him so much. Puts like a pro, rest like an 18
I'm on the first hole, and I had to look it it was breaking 85.
I think everyone in unison said "story of the day" on that last put.
Caddie: Thats a great shot!
Richard: *belly ache that the ball didnt slam dunk for a hole out*
How can this guy say he is a pro !! Even the caddie had a look on his face , that said “” what is this guy doing “ !!!
Rick always seems to get brilliant caddies 👌 looks like a superb place to visit.
You can tell right away he’s trying to be more positive. Tough way to start when you’re trying to stay positive. Keep at it Rick still love the content!
It was one of those days, Rick. I can't wait to see you put it all together. I think a new putter change would help you. Even if it's just a psychological .
I have played streamsong several times. All 3 of the courses. It's one of the most difficult group of courses I have played. Beautiful property!
i've been noticing your approach is very muc changed, more positive... great to see and hear all "what i can do" !!
Me and my golfing buddies have discussed a visit to Streamsong , watching your video has made me wanna go even more , tough day Rick and the course shows it’s teeth if your not on it .
I really like the stats appearing in bold on the screen. Its a nice touch that looks good
Have to give ya credit for hanging around it and staying positive sometimes. No offense at all but if I had a first hole like that right after telling the caddy I wanted to break 75… I’d be like “He’s probably thinking I’m gunna shoot a million”
With all the endless help Rick gets he’s not improving 😂❤
Love Streamsong. A real challenge and unique for Florida.
Ricky, your course management leaves a lot to be desired..... You made up your mind on the first tee that you're hitting driver all day... And your rewarded with a double on the first hole..... Work on your pitch and chip shots!! Love your channe,l been with you forever...😉
Watching Rick is extremely relatable. I legitimately NEVER know where my driver is going. Or how far.
Streamsong is an hour from my house and probably my favorite place in the world for golf. I like it more than pebble. But you don’t goto streamsong to shoot a score, just do truly enjoy an amazing three courses
Guess the caddies thoughts???......this guy talks a good game lol love the enthusiasm as always. Its just a game afterall
Hey Shiels team. Just hit the end of the front 9 and gotta say I'm a fan of the stats. Especially if you're gonna compare after the back 9. Keep up the good work lads and happy Easter.
Streamsong is built on an old phosphate mine. It is not “excess sand.” Great resort and a serious challenge for any golfer.
Death, taxes and Ricky making double on the first of a break 75. Never change Rick Lad!
Swings looking good, love seeing you chip more, putts will get closer but chips are more likely to drop
I’ve played a jr under armour championship there it was amazing it’s so hard and unique and I shot a 78 out ther at the blue course
Literally 10 seconds after saying he plays better with a caddy because he listens he ignores the caddy and he takes driver lol
All in a days golf, up's n downs, you give us all hope ha ha ! well done !
Game is definitely improving. I like the effort to hit 4th gear with driver. Please… I’m begging… put a damn mallet in the bag 😂
Rick never cease to amaze me and never know what to expect.
Like your videos, Rick. Recently you seem to be even more ambitious as before - and share your disappointment more often. Stay positive!
Stats were very cool. Love that.
Brutal putting round though.
Looking trimmer !
Never got on with Envroll myself, wouldn’t have one if it were free.
Cheers
