    57:17 I am white, so I have less experience than you guys of course, but I am preetty convinced the hair touching specifically is a race thing, or at least race motivated by at least a large number of people. I have pretty curly hair (2c -3a so nothing crazy but I've been told that's pretty curly for a white prrson) and have gotten a decent nner of compliments on my hair, but never has has someone asked if they could touch my hair let alone just tried to touch it. So it's gootta be at least partly a race thing. I know I'm preaching to the choir and this isn't really a question being asked,
    just thought I'd put in my experience as a data point.

    • @franjkav
      @franjkav 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      I just have straightish wavy hair and some people have touched mine, both without asking and with. It’s mostly been black kids but it’s still only happened a few times. i have the same experience as a white person with 3C curly hair. i get a ton of compliments on my hair but it's rare for people to touch it without asking. might be because i live in southern california, but i think it's gotta be a race thing, at least in part.

    First and foremost: never touch any part of another human being without permission. Hair, skin, mobility aid - nothing. Don't.
    I have touched a sheep, and I would be concerned for the health and wellbeing of a fellow human being if I touched their hair and thought it was remotely similar. Sheep live outside. Their wool is covered in a naturally occurring waxy substance called lanolin, which is waterproof. For human hair to feel like a sheep would mean that that human has not washed their hair in some time.

Went to college, got an engineering degree, got an aerospace job, became an engineer, got promoted, got my own apartment, got a dog… suddenly at 24 I was completely directionless and more depressed than I’d ever been. Im turning 29 this year and just now feel like I’m getting past that period of my life and into the part where I’m truly getting to know myself and figure out what happiness is to me. Life is strange.

    robo cars wouldn't actually "remove the middle man" for uber eats or door dash, right now they force all the cost of buying and maintaining vehicles onto the drivers, having to pay for all of that would make any "savings" from replacing drivers vanish. What's keeping uber eats and door dash from being profitable are the costs for computer hardware, executive pay, and repaying debt from loans.

    ~1:24:00 Ok, so ... here's the thing. You can receive a fine for not picking up your dog's excrement when you are in a city limit. There is a reason for that - because if everyone let their dog's poop just hang out, it would literally destroy the ecosystem in water systems in the area. So my question is,,, if you were to apply this same concept to human waste, what really makes her think that it's more sanitary to have all of her guests shit in her yard, as opposed to in the toilet inside. . . ?

  • @caryanyans

    weirdly, you three talking about the pursuit of greater things changed my outlook on some things. like it made me sit back and realize that, yes, I've been pursuing these things I want but I haven't enjoyed the process. I think I tend to forget that in order to get somewhere, I also have to put effort in to walk that path in the first place. I can't just jump to greatness, and even when I get to greatness, there's a new puzzle for me to solve.
    its something I've heard a million times that I should "enjoy the journey," but putting that phrase in the context of pursuing something flipped a switch. like damn I need to get off my ass if I want to reach my goals and have fun along the way.

    aside from that, as a woman recently I've noticed a lot of subtle gross behavior from male influencers who I used to look up to n that really hurts and I know I'm not the only one who's felt that. in contrast I love how gentle, safe and welcoming the vibe you guys bring to this space is. im pretty politically active and it's exhausting and painful sometimes but things like this feel like a glimpse into the beautiful future we're building for the coming generations. it might seem kinda ridiculous saying this about a mostly lighthearted and chill podcast lol but yk. you guys are beautiful ✨️✨️ keep doing what ur doing

    My pre-school aged child had a bad night, came to our bed kicking and screaming. As she made falling back asleep near impossible, I put the Boyz on in an ear piece. These three comforted me into some peaceful sleep.

    I got this point from somewhere else i forgot but i feel like these uber and doordash things wouldnt actually work with self driving cars. Because part of the whole thing is that Uber doesnt actually own any of the cars, so they don't have to deal with any of the maitenance or liability. If an uber driver crashes, it's on the driver. If a self-driving uber crashes, it'll be on the company. I feel crazy when nobody brings up how the company that came up with "taxi service but we dont own any of the taxis" probablt wont do too well buying a bunch of taxis.

    Automatic regen braking on electric cars makes for an unpleasant experience for everyone else behind them. If you have an electric car, do everyone else a favor and turn it off. Some Tesla drivers love turning it up to max and essentially brake with no brake lights when letting off the accelerator.

    i went to the wichita state university campus this summer and they have small robo delivery cars, like the size of a small dog sort of thing. i think that’s the only good way to implement that sort of tech and business model, it keeps the campus from being overrun by delivery drivers, students from running/driving around getting food and keeping them safer at night, and keeps food business up for the restaurants on campus. i don’t think the cars left the campus area so they didn’t impede regular traffic and so probably are more reliable than regular self driving cars. i did for sure think they were security/cop robot cars at first and that i had entered a black mirror episode lmao
