Finally got Sentro make hats after much fr u station watching machine go in circles became a litt l e nauseous dropped stitches, kept at it after a few days. Learned pay careful attention casting on turning crank slower. My son and his family farm what we call stocking hats are much needed in bitter weather we have some here in SW Missouri. Had to keep trying don't give up anyone I get it believe me now its a pleasure to use machine. Great tutorial
Thank you for this tutorial. I have just unboxed my Sentro and you have got me casted on. I am sharing a tip I saw which was to place your Sentro on a glass craft mat which I have done and my suckers stick to nicely.
Aw good I am glad the tutorial has helped and the glass mat! The machine takes time to get use to, you will get the hang of it and make some fab stuff I am sure!
To put the suction cups on the legs of your sentry do it before you put the legs on. Take your suction cup and push into place as fast as you can, then take the screwdriver handle and use it to push the bulbous part with the handle and grab the suction part and push, push down, it will go in a lot easier, you will fill it slide slowly into place.
awww such a cute kitty!!! I have seen so many video's and you offer the best explanation, Thank you, I just got my Sentro48 and after two attempts dropping stitches watching other videos...I am going to try your way.
Thank you I am glad it helped! I will be doing more soon I have just been away on holiday so more coming soon! Rocket is a very lovely cat and enjoys the knitting as much as I do 😂!
Hey! Is it in the tube setting or panel? I would suggest trying a thinner yarn and see if that helps. It may also be that it’s catching stitches ( which when the needle lifts up you can see multiple loops on the hook - at the bottom of the hook vs at the top where it catches the yarn) If that’s the case you need to give it a poke down so the stitch knits through instead of it piling up on the needle and bunching it. You can use a sewing needle needle or loom pick to do that. Could also be that the tension is too loose and that is causing it to catch more loops - many possible causes but I hope that helps!
Consider attaching your machine to a piece of plywood by using screws and washers through those slots in the feet. Then, you can use a clamp to attach it to the work surface. Unclamp to store it away. It won't move, and you will not have to fuss with weights.
Mine stops about the 20 peg set on panel. Yours stops just past the white peg. What an i doing wrong? I can't thread it all the way since it stops at peg 20... HELP... Thank you!
Hey, is that on the first row when casting on? On the panel setting it’s from peg 3 onward to 46 ( from memory ) that you can kit. Sounds silly but try rotating the handle the other way to reset the machine and give it ago. Otherwise - mine some times needs a solid cranking to catch the stitch in which is normally due to it getting stuck, stitches piling up on eachother or the yarn being two thick. I hope that helps will try and think of anything else! Is it ok in the tube setting casting on?
Got one but it doesn't sound like yours when it gets to the white peg . Plus row counter doesn't work and unless I crank fast it jams at white peg. I think it's broke. Haven't even got to use it.
Where did you purchase it from I know there are some dodgy places online that sell fakes. I also think it depends on the yarn too on the sound it makes. Sorry you have had a bad experience with it though especially when you have spent money on getting it. The addi machine is more tailored at people who do knit and is of higher quality compared to the sentro
@@KnittingwithMaxine everytime I think I got it, it just becomes loose and has a single string go across. It is always when I get to the 2nd part, back to the white hook 😞.
Sounds like it’s not sitting right in the thread holder that it catches under the hooks. Are you using the panel or the tube setting as they both set up differently that with the panel you have to start at least three pins in not on the white pin. It may also be worth trying to change your yarn as that can affect it too. Sorry you’re having so much trouble. Think the sentro machine was put on this earth to test us all 😂😂
Have you tried using a different yarn to see if it will work? Just thinking maybe it’s a little too thick? Or if you have had the machine a while it may need a clean as the fibres build up in the machine
Hey Annie, it may be that the needles arent catching the yarn so here are a few things that may help: make sure the yarn is on the tighter of the tension options and the yarn is sitting in the groove of the machine. Try slowing the speed you crank the handle as I find that particularly on the panel setting that helps. When casting on you need to make sure it is alternating around the back and then underneath the hook without missing any. Other options is to try a heavier yarn as it could be that it is too fine - so try opting for a DK yarn, cotton yarn I have had success with too. I really hope one of those tips help. I would also recommend joining a SENTRO group on FB as everyone shares their tips and experiences, it is quite handy :)
I was able to make a small hat before it started dropping a stitch. Started another project only for it to drop a stitch after 10 rows. Really frustrating as I was going slow and watching carefully. Better off using knitting needles 😢
You can save a dropped stitch on the SENTRO using a crochet hook but do agree that knitting needles for hats - especially if you work in the round is more error proof. I do enjoy using the SENTRO but agree if you can knit normally it is maybe worth skipping. I recently purchased an old flat bed knitting machine to try and restore and use which will be an interesting challenge!
No need to apologize about Rocket, he’s awesome!! 😻
Haha he is the best - loves stealing the show 🐱😂
Don’t apologize for your kitty. He sounds so cute!
I’m so glad that I found your video. I just recently got a sentro and I’m ready to make a bunch of winter hats with it.
Aw I am so glad you’ve said that. Thank you! I hope it helps!
Thanks so much the other tutorials at the end didn't make sense to me but this one was a clear demonstration tysm
@@xAnyax-4 aw yay I’m glad it helped any questions just shout :-)

Yes I have found using a glass craft board to work very well too!
This video was very helpfull
U want have little bit of slack in the yarn so the hooks can catch the yarn

Mine too!
I'm ready to throw this thing out. I can not get it to work.
Don’t give up!!😢
It does get easier in the end - it takes ages to get the hang of and is a bit hit and miss each time you use it if it goes to plan I find 😭
