    Clear, concise, and no distracting extraneous chatter. Really useful to know how these ‘bad’ stitches occur in the first place. Thank you so much - I would post 1000 likes if I could!

      I came to the comments to say exactly the same thing. The photos with arrows were great too! Really helps to make sure you’re looking at exactly what you should be. Great explanations and quality lighting and just close enough of an angle to see every detail I needed to see. Very well done, thank you!

    By far the best straight forward, patient, fix-it tutorial I have sewn in a long time, without all the extra commentary. It's not too long, but just what I need. Very well done and great clarity in your video of showing EXACTLY what we should see and being doing. ❤

    Thank you so much for sharing this video with us as well as explaining the cause of the dropped and tucked stitches as well.. You get straight to the point, explain everything clearly and add how to blend it at the end! Thank you for showing the difference between the two and also importantly how to blend. I'd managed to fix a few dropped stitches on a scarf I'm making but now I've been able to blend them in so it looks a lot neater! Much appreciated!
    The slowing down and multiple angles is very helpful with the clear explanation!

    Great video, knitting even on the sentro is a little like black magic to me and when it goes wrong it’s a real problem I just don’t understand the engineering…I’m more of a home sewist and rigid fabric seems a lot safer than yarn but I so want to conquer knitting (I’m a really slow hand knitter) so the sentro is something I want to work on, there’s so much lovely yarn out there!

    • @CalumetKnits
      @CalumetKnits  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks! It gets easier over time. Tension is key and once you master that there's no stopping you! Also, pick yarns that are easy on the machine (light worsted works the best).

    Thank you for a great tutorial. I am new with this machine and have ripped out a few hats because of dropped stitches…. Know I know!

    Very helpful! I use a latch hook instead of a crochet hook. I find it easier. BUT I have an Addi so I know it's harder with the caridge in the way. I also find that my yarn is tighter... It doesn't stretch as much as yours.

      I run into some tight stitches as well. If you can't get it back on the needle, place a locking stitch marker on it and wait for it come around a second time. It should be easier.

    Best Video I have seen about these fixes. It took me months to find a good video. I think I would of founder your video if you change the title to something like "Dropped and Tucked Stitche Fixes on Your Circular Knitting Machines". TH-cams search will find your video easier. JAT PS: Do you have a video on how to fix after you take your project off the machine?

    I've found that a latch rug hook works amazing, cause the loop can't slip off 😊

    Great Tutorial. Can you fix the stitches when you noticed them on the machine. Correcting after a few rows is well and good, but can you show how to fix when you notice them on the machine. That would be great.

      In the video I show you how the incorrect stitches are made. You just need to watch for these as you knit. Tension is key! Fix your tension and you won't need to watch every stitch.

    What a game changer this was, I attempted my first beanie with a rib, I had only used my machine three other times, to make three straight forward brimmed hats with different wool, I am a ‘56 year old ‘newbie’, who can knit, very basically, can not crochet and needs processes explained clearly and concisely. In attempting the rib, I had no problem picking up the stitches it was reattaching them to the hook and then knitting them, the only video I had watched showed you to the right of the wool feed, so you ‘hand’ knitted the picked up stitch once you rehooked, it just kept creating tucked or dropped stitches again, in the end I just marked the dropped stitches and picked them up after I had cast off! The tucked stitch, however became 3 tucked stitches, that was much harder! Do you have a video that shows more than one tucked stitch in a row, I winged it but I would love to see a video showing me how to do it, properly or easily!!! Do you have one? Thank you.

      I always fix stitches on the left side of the yarn guide. So, whatever column comes first, that is what I fix even. If I have three columns in the row, I always start with the most right column first. If your stitches are out of order, you have to follow the order of the column to the right. If that one is messed up, you keep moving to the right until you find the correct order, then you work on fixing the columns in next column to the left and so on.

      @@CalumetKnits Thank you so much for replying, I have screen shot it, so I can reference it, I do write down pointers, then, often, can’t follow my own instructions, so this will be perfect. Have a enjoyable Sunday.

    How do you fix a tucked stitch when it’s a border stitch (on panel mode)?
    Thanks for your help

      Of course, I watched a lot of other basic machine knitting videos. But, mostly learning on my own and applying my hand knitting experience.

    Thank you. Now I know how to fix tucked stitches and even it out after I remove it from the machine. What exactly causes the tucked stitch- is it too thick of a yarn or tension, or is it some other reason? Appreciate your explanation on how to fix these.

    • @CalumetKnits
      @CalumetKnits  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Tension is a huge part! Even the slightest adjustment will make big changes in how the stitch falls down the needle. Too tight and it can't move, too loose and it floats around the needle. I suggest experimenting using your hand and adjusting the tension. Yarn makes a big difference as well. You need a yarn that can stretch a bit (trial and error to find ones that work).

    Thank you SO much for this video! Dropped stitches usually meant I had to take the project off the loom and start over. Another question, though: what is happening when a tube (for a hat, for instance) is finished, and when you bind off, there are parts that look like a crease in the yarn? I don't know how to post a photo for you to see... but maybe you know what I mean.

    • @CalumetKnits
      @CalumetKnits  ปีที่แล้ว

      You are so welcome! I think the crease-like is due to tension. You want to make sure that your tension is consistent throughout. If you look at the row of stitches you may noticed that they are much smaller than the rest. This means your tension was tighter for this section than the rest of the tube. The can also be bigger (elongated) which is also a tension issue. I hope this helps.

    Thanks for this great explanation. Is there a way to avoid tucked stitches happening i.e. What is the cause?

    • @CalumetKnits
      @CalumetKnits  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Tension! Tension is the key to knitting perfectly. Sometimes you need a little more or a little less than the 3 settings. Adding a weight to a problem area can also help pull those stitches down so they don't get tucked.

    Idk if it's just that my tension gauge is crap, or if the sentro is just junk; but. I tried doing this and had to frog 60+ stitches because there were just too many issues to fix :( back to using a ton of waste yarn and trying to tension by hand, hopefully that fixes the issue. Thank you for the tutorial, just wanted to let others know it's probably not worth the heartache if you have a ton of problems in your project that you didn't notice 🥲

    • @eponawarrior7492
      @eponawarrior7492 ปีที่แล้ว

      Update: didn't fix the issue, the sentro is probably just garbage haha

    • @CalumetKnits
      @CalumetKnits  ปีที่แล้ว

      It might be your yarn and not the machine. Sometimes the machines just don't like the yarn. And, you have to experiment with different tension (beyond the tensioner).

    Would the size hook changes that problem when you used h or I hook? I wonder if you use thin hook to fox that problem at the end? Just wondering. I was not sure if I should order knitting machine after I saw your video. Maybe I should try that.

    • @CalumetKnits
      @CalumetKnits  ปีที่แล้ว

      I usually grab whatever size hook I have layering around. You can definitely use a smaller hook or even a latch hook. I typically don't need to even out the stitches if I catch the problem with a few rows. Its usually when you have to undo 5+ rows where you start to see the uneven stitches.

    Maybe you can help me. I've finished my beanie and am ready to cast off. Unfortunately, I seem to have 2 dropped stitches right near where I would start. I don't see the stitch but there are a few ladder stitches right on top. I'm afraid to try to fix them on the machine. Could I just cast off all of the stitches and try to fix it when it's off? Sorry for the long post😌Wanted to send a pic but there no place to do it in comments.

    I'm dealing with 2 problems... I just changed colors and I wound up having dropped stitches right before I get back to the starting needle. Can I pick up. Also, I'm not sure how many stitches need fixing. Hard to explain without a picture. Then there's a single yarn strand right after that didn't catch I guess. Is there any way of fixing that? I've gotten this far and I'd like to not have to rip it out. I need to learn to fix these kinds of things. I could send you a pic if that would help.
