I built one of these about 15 years ago. I bent the top starplates and lowered the roof pitch to 4 in 12 to match my house. I had 2 feet (0.6 meters) of snow on it for 4 months last winter. All is fine.
you could do 2x6x 12 with extra upward 4x6 up and down and 2x6 in-betweens all in all with some strap metal for a secure structure. Think beyond the penti box
@@Pabkojdim did you double up the metal plates for extra strength? Have heard they can warp if wood longer than 9-10 feet.. Would love to know how it turns out! I want to build a whole cluster of these...

Yep Im building one with 12 ft long lumber. You'll need more bracing

I think it's way cooler when one uses mathematics to calculate the cutting angle instead of using metal joints.
watching a single video of someone cutting all those angles into wood and organizing it was enough to cured me of this idea
