Thank you for this suggestion. I've tried other cooling fans specifically marketed for the Xbox Series X and with the release of Starfield my xbox was reaching temps in excess of 120 degrees F and crashing constantly even with those systems in place. I added these two fans and now when running Starfield my Xbox usually caps our around 95 degrees F and is MUCH more stable.
Well I got the fans they are running real nice. XBox is running nice and cool now. Call me wowed. I didn't think the fans would make a big impact on the heat coming out of the machine, but it's at a real nice teamp. My room is hot as fiery hell and everything is melting around me but XBox is nice and cool yea. Thanks again for website info and nice and to the point video. It was not all convoluted with unnecessary info like alot TH-cam videos.
I found the perfect solution. I bought the Mcbazel Cooling Stand with LED Lighting for Xbox Series X Console, Xbox Series X Cooling Fan,Colour Changing Cooling LED Stand for Xbox Series X with Indicator, and I also bought the G-STORY Cooling Fan for Xbox Series X with Automatic Fan Speed Adjustable by Temperature, LED Display, High Performance Cooling,3 Speed 1500/1750/2000RPM (140MM) with RGB LED One is on the base, the other that has the temperature guage is on the top Both from amazon (be careful when buying the G-Story, some are going at twice the price with other retailers, so Amazon is definitely your best bet) I run both fans at full speed (the noise is minimal, especially if you are wearing headphones you don't hear a thing) but trust me, they are both surprisingly quiet anyway. I played the Remastered Dead Space for a solid 3 hours and the temperature guage never got above 31C or 87.8F. I felt the console all over and could not feel any disernable warmth coming from anywhere!! Well worth buying if you are serious about prolonging the life of your console.
Definately going to try this on my Series X because it likes to shut down without any notice and doesn't even give any overheating messages. I've taken it apart and cleaned everything and did a factory reset but it still does it. It's got plenty of air space around and I keep it mounted horizontaly. The only left to try is to replace the thermal paste and possibly the thermal overheat sensor(possibly going bad). These fans are a worth a shot. Thanks for sharing.
@@NoScope96 They're definately doing the job but I think the problem is on Bungies end and their crap servers. I play Destiny 2 a lot and it's the only game that causes my system to crash to my home screen or turn it off sometimes. Regardless of the issue, the fans are doing a good job of moving air through the console.
I don't use ny xsx that often but when I do I play for an hour at min. Last night I was playing Avengers (really cool game) and I noticed my xsx was getting uncomfortably warm so I hurried and shut down. The fans will arrive tomorrow and I will repost to let you know how it works for me!! Thanks for the info!
bought my Series X on March 2021, had no issues until today, after 2-3 of getting louder fan noise, the console shut down playing a game, thanks for this tip, i'll see if i can open it and look for dirt or something, but semms like i need to use some extra fans...
I’ll tell you guys the problem the Xbox one had a separate power brick but Xbox messed up with the series x puting it all in one I never had an issue with my Xbox one overheating owned for 10 years leaving it on for 2 days some times
I just bought one, put it on the bottom of the Series X with the base off. I just plugged it into one of the Series X rear USB ports. I notice my Series X only shuts off when playing Series X games from the NVME for more than a few hours. It never shuts off when I play last gen games from the external SSD or back compat games from an external HDD
Did you take the circular stand off the bottom of the Xbox as well? Also just to confirm, the bottom fan pushes air into the Xbox and the top fan pulls/exhausts through the top?
If you wanna upgraded version of this idea what you need to do is buy four tiny fans for each of the corners at the bottom of the Xbox. The reason why is because a single fan is blowing into the flat plate causing no air to flow through the system at all but if you took four individual tiny fans and put them in the corners of the base, he would then be blowing 100% air directly through the small ports at the bottom for air intake
@@pablocadiz5758 absolutely correct but unfortunately underneath that plate is solid plastic. No holes for air. Literally the only intake on the underside of the Xbox are the four corners that is it.
Quick question, I bought two of the 140 fans that you have and placed 1 on top and 1 fan on the bottom. I'm wondering if you took the bottom circle plate or stand plate that's on the bottom of the Xbox box off or just leave it on and sit the Xbox with the stand on the bottom fan? Thanks.
What if the Xbox series X is on its side (not upright). Is there a fan solution you recommend? Right now I am limited to keeping it on its side. Thanks
Any update after a year of this setup? Im also planning to add some external fans to increase cooling circulation of my xbox, since I always use it for simming /msfs2020

@Pilot / 0083 Thanks buddy, I got it on a really nice surge protector now. I also set my Xbox not to do any remote features or updates for games etc so when I have the Xbox powered off, it's not doing anything extra. Liked & subscribed!
Going to have to give this a try since my xsx that I've barely owned since Christmas already had a heat stroke. Ridiculous that Microsoft dropped the ball that hard, guess they were busy trying to juice up the grade school children.
Can I unplug the internal fan and take it out or will that not work? The internal fan just randomly died on me tonight and basically it tries to come on but won’t come on it will squeak really loud start to spin for a sec and stop for 15 seconds and then repeat. I just bought a new internal fan but if that doesn’t work can I use these without the internal fan?
The internal fan is easily removable. Pop open the hatch on the back, remove like three screws, and unplug the fan. Would be easy to replace the fan with a new one.
I I've ordered fans and I will post 100% honest reviews after the weekend.. as it's 35 degrees here right now so running a console in those conditions will really put it through its paces
What is the best way to add USB ports to the Xbox. I’m assuming I would need a powered usb hub to help run a mouse, keyboard, external HD, and possibly this fan off of it (might run a cable to a wall outlet but would prefer to just run it off the powered usb hub and have less cables). Do you have one in mind?
@@Pilot0083 never said it wasnt going to run cool. But with negative pressure you will have so much dust accumulate in the heatsink fins of the cpu cooler. Which in return will run HOT. lol again bad idea.
