Great stuff John the mask set seems great the port wing (Stars & Bar) looks like the mask blemish looks like it should be there.. thanks for the video take care!
Thanks very much- I was very happy with these masks. I'll use decals on the -2 just to compare finishes. I think these kits are a great value for the price. Thanks for your continued support of the channel.
@@nikolaosstavrou5327 I had thinned the paint with Mr Leveling Thinner. That one area of the wing seems to have issues with paint bonding to it. Thanks for the suggestion!
Hi John, your painting on the F4 Corsair was absolutely outstanding, I can't fault anything you have done, those painted on markings were superb, congratulations on a job extremly well done, my only question is, was it your hairspray or Mrs G's? Best regards from Australia, Les
Love your videos on this kit, just about to start one myself, or should say two. Ordered the HawaiianDepot templates as well, even the wing spread jig. When is the next video being released?
@@DamoL1974 thanks very much for the compliment! I'm sure you'll enjoy building this kit as much as I am. We've just finished moving into our new place and I anticipate getting back into the build in the next couple of weeks. Thanks for watching and I appreciate your patience.
@@craigpennington1251 as well you should! It's your model and at the end of the day it should make you happy. Appreciate you watching and thank you for your feedback!
Check references... the F4u1a did not have the underside bombsight window... it was replaced with sheetmetal. Thanks for a great video... I have this kit and will use your tips.
Great video !! the Paint works, colors look outstanding, Well Done. The mask set from Hawaiian air depot, is it a file you have to download, and you print the mask set? or do you actually get a mask set that's ready to use? the website mentions files so I'm a little confused. thanks
Hi Robert - Hawaiian Air Depot supplies files that are formatted for two cutting machines - the Cricut and the Silhouette. The files have all the sizing done for you and feature different national insignia, numbers, and a host of other masks like for the formation lights and others. You take the ones you're going to use and arrange them on a page that would fit in the cutter and using a vinyl material like Oramask you cut them out for use. This was the first time I've used anything like this and I was very happy with the results. You can buy these machines for under US $100 if you look online. I appreciate the question and thank you for watching. Let me know if you have any other questions.
Mr G I just got this kit yesterday so I'm watching your video for inspiration. I really like the weathering.Btw. which vinyl cutter are you using or would you recommend. The're pretty darn expensive just to use for modeling purposes.
@@jlcsr9163 I have the Cricut and the only reason I have it is because my daughter bought it. She got a bigger one so I got this one. Thanks for watching and good luck with your build!
I just love this build! Great job.

Try redusing the ak paint by adding some medium also in the paint so it does not chip. not only thinner

Hi Les- believe it or not I have my own hairspray just for chipping. And thanks very much for the kind words. Cheers from Texas!

That’s an interesting cradle that you have your model resting around 15:50 - 16:30. Can I ask where you got it?

It's really nice and I might get a larger one at some point.
I paint how I would like it to be regardless of authenticity, models or real full size aircraft.
