Loving the frequent demos! Adds more and more confidence to my backing every time I watch. I do however wish there was a little more talking and explanation instead of the same looping song in every vid that I have been muting 😕.
I think, for a while I will hear that song in my mind whenever I am scanning 😁 But the concept of it being uncut, is really nice! This makes it very transparent! If there will be a video with some explanation, I would also like to see the scanner a bit challenged. Let it lose tracking, while explaining why it now lost it and do it better then... Maybe something like a "mini-tutorial" showcasing the software a bit beyond its comfort zone 😊
Nice Video! Since you have a calibrated master, is it possible to perform a MSA Study type 1 (which is commonly used in automotive industry for new measurement systems to check the measurement capability)? This would mean performing the scans (actual distance value will be used instead of the deviation) at least 20 times (full= 50x) and related to a given Tolerance the capability values Cg and Cgk are calculated. Target is to have values >1,33.
The scanning effect looks good, but the video of the scanning process is a bit shaky. It is recommended to use a stabilizing device or tripod when recording.
Hello, our software has been continuously improving. Once GPU acceleration is activated, anticipate a significant increase in scanning frame rates. The scanner will perform even better at that time.
Scan 2&3 have better accuracy performance than Scan 1 is because of the temperature? MetroX warms up after the 1st Scan? What do you think? Is laser scanner more sensitive to temperature?
@@zippytiff Maybe not, but these videos are well made and mostly without any cuts that could make way for fraud or making the scanner perform any better than under normal conditions. + To my knowledge people have right to return the scanner within 2 weeks (not exacly sure about this one). I don't think Revopoint would dare to do something like that, if they did and they got caught it would be over for them and their reputation. EDIT: Right to return doesn't work on kickstarter AND works only for few countries though selected resellers. I am new ro kickstarter and not knowledgable about return policies, do your own study/research please.
This is all true, with the exception of the right to return it. This you don't have, as they state. While these videos give a good impression on how the scanner performs and also quite solid evidence that it works, I would, as many backers, I guess, appreciate to see some at least a bit unbiased testers tell and show what they like and what they don't like with this device, maybe even compared to other devices (e.g. Raptor)
@@Gaston12345I totally agree, i just want views from my trusted reviewers. Im sure they the company doesnt want to trash their reputation, its just weird the reviewers cannot say ANYTHING beyond the unboxing...... i so want this to be the scanner i need, as was torn between mini 2 and pop 3, but think this is the one for me !! ;-)
You test always the point cloud and the distance of the 2 points , not the mesh , the accuracy is always based on. Point Cloud as it is the closest output to the hardware.
Do you refer to the "shadows" forming around the bar and the tracking elements? I assume this is due to the combination of a black, probably quite shiny, surface, and the angle. This by nature gives very little light coming back to the cameras compared to the areas being tracked at a right angle. So without changing the angle, these surfaces stay invisible, which I assume is totally normal and the same with every 3d scanner. That being said, this will be (hopefully) the first one I will have my hands on 😁
@@Gaston12345 you can set the laser to appropriate power to capture everything but for faster capture you should only set it according to the scanned surface and avoid to scan anything else beside your desired object to save on time , lasers mode do not produce shadows , Full Field do and that's normal behavior .
@@PUTV3D with "shadows" I meant these areas that look like shadows. But yes, this is what I assumed. It is just a matter of physics that these angled areas are less bright and depending on the exposure setting will just stay invisible - which in this case is even a good thing, as it helps focusing on the relevant stuff
@Gaston12345 yes you were correct , the sensors can only see what the projector project on the surface , everything else is not visible . Same for laser mode , it sees only laser lines and nothing else on the surface .

@@Gaston12345 Exactly my thoughts
Thank you for your valuable suggestion. I've already passed it along to our video team for further improvements.
I'd add some talking, plus put a longer playlist of music. You are god damn right, even myself got this loop music stuck in my head now....
Nice Video!

Not sure I fully understand this, sounds to me it's statistics.

Thank you for reminding.
Did you improve the latency of the software since your first laser scan uncut video you did? I think it looks much smoother now
Hello, our software has been continuously improving. Once GPU acceleration is activated, anticipate a significant increase in scanning frame rates. The scanner will perform even better at that time.
Yes, with the same laptop, now I can maintain at 40+ even 50 FPS all the time. In the 1st uncut vid sometimes I fall to 20 FPS. Definitely improving.

When will the youtubers with beta units be able to give their reviews ? i hope not too long now, so the kickstarter can get to 2 million dollars
After the shipping starts, to my knowledge. (THIS INFORMATION IS NOT 100% CERTAIN!!)
@ that won’t go down well with the kickstarter community

Hey guys what is the difference between PC and Mesh test, also would the single lazers be more accurate then the crossed lazers mode?

Why doesn't the scanner capture black elements and areas?
It can capture everything even semi opaque plastic .
