    i prefer to have my mini static between my legs on a tripod.. with a black background and wear black nytril gloves and rotate the object in front of the mini.. as the mini 1 will not pick up the black colour.. so much faster..

    You really need a realtime side-by-side comparison of the previous models. I'm disappointed on the performance of the Mini, and I'm not going to throw more money away at it.

      The mini 1 and mini 2 have been excellent for me….

      The only real difference is the field of view and the illuminators. The original MINI can actually produce *slightly* more detail than the MINI2 due to that reduced FOV. Chances are you're either scanning an unsuitable object (or scanning it in an unsuitable mode), or not prepping it properly, rotating it too fast, not using the right depth sensitivity... basically any of a number of user errors.
