    Just fyi people I was at work 20 miles away when this fire started. I was able to get back up to paradise but it was my wife who had to evacuate my 1, 2, 7 and 8 year old kids. She held it together as long as she needed to and words can't explain how proud of her I am. I had to run and find her and as soon as I found her I took over. Untill you are stuck in gridlock traffic with thousands of people trying to escape down 1 four lane highway with flames all around you, you cant post heartless comments like what I've seen tonight. I really didnt think there were people out there like you.

      That was so terrifying to watch that I cannot imagine the terror of being inside that event, especially with your 4 young children. There was a brief moment toward the end of the video that showed you and your wife clutching each others hands for support. It spoke volumes. You are correct that no one should be making judgements from behind the safety of their computer screens. What I saw was a very brave, determined and rightly terrified young couple. Glad you and your family made it out safely.

      I was panicking and crying right along with her, my mind flashing to what would I do in this same situation, with my babies in the back seat? She was amazing. That's all I have to say.

      Ignore the assholes, there are alot of hateful trolls around. No one can remain completely calm surrounded like that. And while she was overcome with fear she still tried to comfort the kids. Glad your family made it out safe. So sorry to see all this destruction.

      @Diane Berg and you forgot his best friend the minority character preferably black but they do like the very smart Asian as well coming on a strong third on the minority wheel of POC characters will be the loudmouth Latino best friend or the Mexican best friend and his kids they all got asthma and they all dropped thier inhalers trying to get into their vehicle so they're going to have to make a detour at the burning Pharmacy risk life and limb to get to the last inhaler and fight with the looters at the same time oh and they left their Chihuahua back in their trailer right next to the burning house now the trailers on fire so they're going to have to risk life and limb again just to get to the Chihuahua as everything is exploding around them and they take off without the dog the scene cuts to a Burning Tree and there's the little mutt barking at the fire on one of the last branches that's not burning cool action photography as the little dog miraculously jumps over 75 ft into the air in slow-mo and is the vehicle is speeding away the dad with one hand on the steering wheel reaches out and catches their dog and flips the little flea bag into the backseat with the kids and make their escape as everything explodes behind them as the camera pans out for the wide shot of all the destruction you can still hear that fucking dog barking it just won't stop damn Chihuahua the black or Asian BFF does the noble self-sacrifice towards the end so that Marky Mark can get back and Salvage his relationship with his wife and obnoxious kids all of them have asthma and just for extra drama one of them is probably on dialysis the Latino or Mexican best friend gets crushed in their car with a giant flaming tree but miraculously makes it out on a stretcher with The Grieving family crying tears of joy before Ice shows up & hijacks the stretcher with his BFF setting up a sequel FIRE HARD II the Quest for Asylum and then towards the end he reveals to his entire family that he had gender reassignment so now he's a two-for-one special that's why he was so cranky and he worked 97 hours a week as a gas station attendant forest ranger part-time firefighter part-time cook at the Mickey D's bartender at the local pub and on an oil rig somewhere off the Coast south of Texas as well as being the town's only Barber and he was the ex-mayor and still runs the Town Newspaper and that explains to us the audience why he was never around to appreciate the family oh yeah and the wife's current boyfriend gets them out of the fire surrounding the house only to die doing it because you know plot point he served his purpose the douchebag boyfriend that we meet halfway through gets cooked the movie ends with the town having a fire sale for the ages

    Just think about this for a moment. Your in a car with your family. Surrounded by fire... if the car stalls or gets stuck... your probably going to slowly burn to death. But before you die you will hear the screams of your children as they are burned alive along side you. If you leave your car it's very difficult to survive on your own. If your carrying children with you nearly impossible. Yeah that sounds like total hell. I'm so happy they made it out. Some people never did.

Propane tanks popping , animals on fire running , smoke ,heat , couldn’t seee, I have asthma and cops but my house didn’t even get touched . People were robbing , I went searching for my friends kid , found him , kept going back and forth to evacuate friends since I had a car and others were on foot here in the mountains and cops couldn’t let us back in but yea crazy but I wouldn’t wNt to be locked on a road !! Glad you made it out. Cali isn't the only place that can go up in flames. I watch these videos to learn as much as I can, so if I ever encounter anything like this, I'll have some idea what I am up against. Thanks for making the vid and for posting it.
    As for the haters, such as the person who claims to be Native American, who knows whether that is even true. Sometimes, I see things posted, supposedly the poster is Black or Jewish, who can say? I can't see them. In other words, I suspect that at least some of the time, it's someone posing as a member of a group of people that the person hates: writing hateful comments with the intention of getting others to hate that group. IDK. If hate were a Natural Resource America would have more of it than Oil, Coal and Natural Gas combined. It's sad.
    Sorry so many died: people and animals. Sorry there was so much loss of property, too.

      The crummy thing is, even if the person who posts hateful comments is not an imposter, it makes their own group look bad.

    I bet Cali will start conducting a lot more controlled burns. Florida is almost hyper-vigilant with controlled burns.

    I understand it had to be terrifying, but basically saying that bad things are going to happen, with your kids there. Come on now. I understand she was scared but she didn’t say anything to help, it was only the dad. I give that man a medal. He continued to stay calm even though she was flipping out not making the situation any better. The kids weren’t as hysterical as her. This is very bias, but I’m glad they made it out alive, but she probably scared her poor kids more than the fire did itself.

I really didnt think there were people out there like you."
      So, don't judge.The man you want to give a medal to, is proud of his wife for how she handled it.

  • @jamesabarela
    @jamesabarela 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    I'm sure that was pretty dam terrifying being in their situation, but the woman and the man were not calm. The man should be the one to keep wife calm for the sake of what I assume are their kids in the car as well. Those babies need to see that mom and dad are brave and that they will keep them safe...scary stuff!!!

    Some of you are so horrible. Yes she was terrified!!!!! Of course! The were surrounded by fire and she thought her family was going to die!! The lot of you sure are quick to get on the internet and criticize this woman. But yet you weren't in her shoes. You weren't in that car with them. Yes! Parents Are allowed to panic! She didn't do anything to make them die, did she? Nope! She was scared and it showed, because it was a terrifying situation! What the hell is wrong with you all?!!

    The one thing about this fire it's a great test to see what kind of kids you made if they're sitting back in the seat freaking out and crying like little bitches you might want to trade them in for some new ones I'd have to have kids that tell me all right Dad tires pop time to drive on the rims then if I had any other kids they have to chime in drive it like you stole it and the girls I've associated with are very cool under pressure very impressive woman not very smart most of them but very cool handle their shit hell I'd even let them drive me out they probably start rear-ending people trying to get them to move they wouldn't even care about the vehicle and living up there in the forest like that we most likely have little car for big trips but in an emergency big trucks always have camping gear pack in the truck extra clothes basic survival gear who cares about the gas 4 X 4 with heavy tires I mean really who gives a shit about the tires at this point in time you know you can drive on the rims for a while right they are made of aluminum or metal and if you don't care about having custom rims and tires you most likely got the factory ones well those are steel wheels and those cheap bastards will go a good 50 60 miles before they really flatten out and you can't drive on them you're going to look like Ghost Rider going down the street with all the sparks flying out but really are you worried about Sparks either I mean if you got 20 foot flames on each side I don't think sparking rims are going to matter at this point either it's not like your vehicles going to be worth shit but time you get out from this kind of extreme heat it's baked all that debris in dust is getting into the motor somehow someway Vehicles run on oxygen to the same way we do so they have to suck air in I'm sure the filters especially again if you don't have custom filters you got paper filters it's going to eat through those like there's no tomorrow even the frame off-road filters that I use that are like $60 they're made out of material they're meant to handle heat and dirt and dust but I think this is a little bit extreme it would just eat through this especially when people don't know how to drive and you're recording video at the same time and you know they designed this perfectly for emergencies one way in and one way out I'm so happy though that I don't have kids I couldn't imagine hearing them cry and acting all scared that just get you killed I would hope that I would have taught my kids Better Living in that kind of an area you know the forest just like living by the water and not knowing how to swim or knowing how fast water can move and rise not having a battle plan really weird being raised by grandparents that were survivalist World War II veterans from Normandy and took heavy tank fire hell my grandpa lost 11 Brothers when their tank was shelled and then exploded and was Private Ryan Out my crazy grandparents never taught me to relax they take me out in the woods the water anywhere they can and teach me basic survival it's hard on me to dumb it down to how most people really are I've been in wilderness camps expeditions I'm just used to everyone telling me this is the environment what goes on here so I would know when you go up into the mountains higher elevation weather can roll in literally roll in on top of you from day to night just like fire fire and Dew laser targeting with high winds after fire like this the rains will come it's part of the environmental cycle after yuge fires rains will come shortly then barely above freezing temperatures I don't know how these people seem to have lived in this kind of environment for years and I've been up there it truly is Paradise or in this case was but I don't see how you can build a town in these Woods if you've actually been there it's a bottleneck just going in and out they basically built the town on tracts they literally dug it out so they can build these big giant houses no defensible space whatsoever and some that do have clear area that you would consider defensible is positioned wrong for how the wind comes through no way to stand there and defend the property when high winds is whipping 20-foot Flames at your head I mean they really wanted to live here if you'd ever would have seen this town very nice but not very smart and they never cleared any brush or anything I mean some houses had trees just brushed up against them oh well that's all over with now nature took back what it rightfully owned
